  • Shane and I responded to this 76k Lbs tractor trailer that had lost traction and rolled into the ditch. The steep incline, narrow road and heavy trailer made for a challenging recovery!! Hope you enjoy!

    I ve seen UK recovery operators do a sidewards slide,and they carry a 20litre container with soapy water in to splash under the tyre to aid sliding. Great vid,keep them coming.

      @MercifulTowing  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Soapy water can be a huuuge help in certain situations.. I did not resort to that method because of the lip of the roadway, I needed to lift the driver side over that lip or risk blowing out tires/damaging the roadway. Its covered by leaves but it is a very tall edge.

      Glad to see we were on the same page.. this was by far one of the most nervewrackign ones ive been a part of.. mostly due to the hill... it was sooooo steep! and even though we got it done I did not like the position the wrecker had to be in.

      @@MercifulTowing I thought that last little hit the wecker until the camera showed different.
      It's easy to be a keyboard warrior I try really hard not to appear that way I'm 66 grew up towing towed first cars at 13years old dad was in the salvage business had a I think about 1950 home built wrecker then grew from that. Most people don't understand just how dangerous not just the recovery but from stupid drivers that don't slow down and move over

      @@DependableAutoTruck You came from the time where you had to know how to operate the wrecker! All to often I see guys that don't know what they are doing but have money to buy big enough equipment... that's just as dangerous as the drivers that don't slow down/move over

    • @peewee.3138
      @peewee.3138 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes in a similar situation another line (if you had it) off the driver’s side low to a Holmes Tree anchor could hold that side of the truck down on such a tight work area. Never a perfect solution but you and Shane pulled it off professionally with no damage. Stay safe till the next one!

    WOW great job Guys yes a Rotor would have been the perfect piece of equipment for that recovery but you had to think outside the box in the end everything worked out the question did the new wrecker pull a wheelie pulling that heavy trailer sideways LOL
