    Lilac hair 😍😍😍😍 so pretty 🥰. I'm not anywhere near getting on my toes but I'll practice everything before it.

      Thank you. 💜 absolutely give the first bit a go. It will really help with edges. Those toe manuals need a lot of strength so take your time to build up to them. Oh and most importantly, have fun x 🤩😎⭐️💕

    Awesome tutorial! I'm able to coast on toe-toe manuals but I couldn't figure out how to propel myself forward. How about a heel-heel swivels tutorial please?

      So glad it helped. We’ve just filmed a heel flare tutorial this evening.

    Hi Skatie, we commented before that if you don't have a Roller Rink, you can do all Skatie moves on the ice rink. Insurance costs are putting Roller Rinks into the History Books here across the Pond. Thanks Friend!

    • @Skatie

      That’s so sad. We’ve lost a lot rinks here too due to greedy landlords etc. 😢

      Even a small carpeted or grassy area can be a great place to practice balance etc.

  • @ASMRTingledPink

    I'm nowhere near the toe manuals yet. But for the one at the beginning, how do you balance properly for that? What is the proper body positioning and weight transfer?

    • @lyndabyrne6080
      @lyndabyrne6080 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's the same weight transfer as the flat-footed version, you need to 'release' the foot that's about to move to the front by placing more weight on the other one. It takes quite a bit of strength in your feet and legs, you kinda have to grip with your toes. Can you do a regular toe manual where you pop up on your toes while rolling in a staggered stance?

    • @ASMRTingledPink
      @ASMRTingledPink ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lyndabyrne6080 no. I'm literally just getting past the bubbles stage. That's why I'm not sure about the right positioning and everything. I'm nowhere near trying manuals. But that first one she showed looked more like an advanced bubble. I'm wanting to try and learn something new that is a step up from bubbles.

    • @lyndabyrne6080
      @lyndabyrne6080 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ASMRTingledPinkOh I'm sorry I thought you meant the little demo of the toe swivel she showed at the start. But it's the same principle for the 'one leg' bubble, you can see in the slow mo how Katie bends her knee quite deep to allow the other foot a little bit of release to swoop the other one forward. So try that, do a few bubbles then try alternate bubbling with one leg at a time. You'll get it in no time! I think dirty Deb also has some good in depth videos on bubbles, she really explains what's happening in all the different mechanics of your body in her vids ❤

    • @Skatie
      @Skatie  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The little one foot bubble stagger swap? Let me find a video i’m sure I’ve covered that one before. Ok. I talk about the one foot bubble in a stagger here. I can’t find the exact stagger stance swap (I’ll keep looking) but this is a great skill to practice too. th-cam.com/video/i__KUb2PIjM/w-d-xo.html

    How do I stop being shaky at fast speeds for toe toe manuals? I did tighten up my cushions but it doesn’t help

    • @Skatie
      @Skatie  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Do your trucks wobble or your muscles? Toe manuals need a lot of strength and it’s a matter of finding the sweet spot to stop the truck wobble. I find putting my weight further forwards can help. Just make sure to not go too far forwards. 💥 🤕

    Can this be a form of carving?

    • @Skatie
      @Skatie  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Kind of but it is definitely harder on the toes than regular carving on edges in staggered position.

    hey, sorry if this isn't related to the video but do you know of any good quad skates for indoor speed skating? The main thing we do at my old local rink is backwards speed skating on quads. everybody used these custom made skates made from normal k-swiss shoes. the wheels on them were amazing and let you brake so easily. I moved away from that rink but at my new local rink nobody uses those kinds of skates. I was wondering if you know anywhere that sells them since I didn't get a chance to buy them from the dude that sold them. He only sold them for like 100 bucks and they lasted for years. Another question i wanted to ask is about the quad skates you use and the wheels you put on them.

    • @seanlin6050
      @seanlin6050 ปีที่แล้ว

      i can send pictures of the skates that my cousin has which are made by the person at my old rink

    • @Skatie
      @Skatie  ปีที่แล้ว

      The skates you describe sounds like custom builds. It’s possible to make trainers into skates with the use of a special aluminum insert to give the shoe strength. These are ok for cruising around the rink but because of the shoe construction they don’t give a lot of ankle or foot support. Some skate shops will offer custom builds like this. In this video I’m wearing risport dance boots on a roll-line dance plate with star boiani 70d wheels.

    Could you help me, katie, every time i crossover, my leg that's coming forward somehow makes my rear leg fall out, and i land on my kneepads, so could you think of what im doing wrong

    • @Skatie
      @Skatie  ปีที่แล้ว

      🤕 there could be a couple of things happening. Do you have good one foot balance? Are your feet getting too close together, either sideways or when the foot goes down in front? I have a crossovers video where i break it down which may help. th-cam.com/video/xbOkqGIANt0/w-d-xo.html
