Thanks so much AJ. With your help, no SOS is working for me this time. A few weeks ago, I watched a Dr. Goldhammer talk, where he said nobody sits down and eats a bowl of sugar. At that very moment, I was eating a bowl of brown sugar. It might be ok for some people to have a teaspoon of brown sugar on their oatmeal, but not me. I can't have it in any form in the house. Nor can I eat any flour or salt. At first they taste yummy, but I find myself needing more and more and more. None is best. Thanks for teaching me this principle.
I just joined UWL a week ago and so far, so good. I am still in the habit of weighing and measuring my food, although I have never been on any kind of plan that calls for it. I am just terrible at assessing serving sizes! Thank for your all the videos, Chef AJ. They are my weekly pep talks to keep me going! My daughter has joined in, so her support is helping me as well.
Maybe the lady was wondering about PEARL barley as opposed to the less processed regular barley? ( I think pearl barley has has the outer layer removed.)
Thanks for answering my question, Chef AJ! And I definitely have seen many people who travel with their scales. As many years as they have of measuring and yet they still don't trust themselves to measure properly without the scale. That's not the life I could live myself.
dear AJ, how do you do your vanilla extract? Do you blend the whole vanilla bean to bits and pieces and then strain out and put in the fridge right away, or do you let it sit on the cover for 2 months, then strain it? thank you so much. I listen to you all the time now, and I now eat a vegetable plate w rice or a large salad at least once a day and had already see myself strinking, and it's only 2 days, which never happened. I'd always bloted after a meal unless I drink a lot of metamulsil. thanks again.
First I must say I'm really enjoying this series! I love your TH-cam channel and all of its content! Because this video represents the third time I've noticed you say that soy is the only boxed non-dairy milk to not have salt or sugar that it is just Soy and water I wanted to let you know that hasn't been my experience here in Florida. (Generally I don't use these products and if I do I normally make my own but there have been occasions where I wanted to pick up a box for one reason or another.) Most non dairy milks including soy have a long list of ingredients including salt, sugar and carrageenan. Even the unsweetened soy milk has a bunch of unnecessary ingredients including carrageenan. I have never been able to find soy milk that was just soy and water. I was able to find an Oat milk that had mostly just oats and water and no carrageenan but I've found that companies change the ingredients in their products without any notification on the packaging other than the ingredients list itself. So like I said before I generally stay away from these products altogether but if ever I need one for something I read all of the ingredients until I find one that fits my needs. You really have to read the ingredients if you are thinking about buying any packaged/processed food. Most of the time I can not find one that I consider acceptable and I end up making a small amount at home instead of buying the boxed variety. I believe the best thing to do if you must have a splash of nondairy milk for something is to make your own from scratch that way you know exactly what is in it and it's really easy to do. Much love to you! I think you are very inspiring and your videos help me stay focused and eating in the healthful way I know is best. Whole Plant Based Foods and leave the processed foods on the shelf. 😊💚
Hi Ann. I live in Florida also and I find Westsoy's Unsweetened Soy milk (soy and water only) in the breakfast/cereal aisle at Publix. I hope this helps!
***** Thank you 😊 A fellow Florida resident mentioned that his local Publix Grocery had it So If someone in my area wanted it they could request their local Publix order it for them. That's good to know.

So messed up that there’s a McDonalds app ad right under your video!
Chef AJ, could you do a video on how you prepare vegetables to make them more palatable? Bland vegetables is not very appetizing.
Yes! Please watch episode 24

Wow heard to believe.
Thank you for another amazing WLW! What teleclass # does Dr Goldhamer talk about Hashimoto's?
I don't remember the exact one but there aren't too many interviews with him on this page so it's one of them :)

Soy milk at Trader Joe's has organic soy beans and water, nothing else. Look on the shelf ,not refrigerator
Hey Chef AJ, what do u think of spirulina?
I don't think you need it. The only supplements I recommend are B-12 and perhaps D for people that can't get in the sun.
Thank u..you've really inspired me!!
Where can I find your muffin recipe:)
In my books
I have got to get the evil nuts out of this house!! But, I have nine kids still at home who love peanut butter and don't binge on it like I do! Hmmm.
jammymommy that's my issue too..
Rhoades Traveled yeah, I think I just need to abstain....waaaaaa!!!
I'd like to ask if you had experienced "brain fog" prior to your present diet?
No but lots of cravings
