We have very recently bought a massey 5612 from 2015, with only 300 hours! things i have learned that you might find useful. On the setting screen you can change starting gear by putting the shuttle into forward, and then pushing up or down on the shuttle and T bar at the same time, you will change the starting gear. if you want to change the reverse starting speed you do the same with the shuttle in reverse. The other useful thing is changing how smooth the gear change is on the settings, made a massive difference to the 5612 because of how light it is. As you know yourself, the best way to learn is to sit in the cab and press buttons and see what happens. looking forward to seeing this tractor in the future! (PS the air con is the best thing on this planet, the fans are actually louder than the engine in the 4 cylinder!)
Just come in after a busy day so going to settle down with our favourite farmer’s and have a look at the new tractor 🚜 so GodBless and Good Luck 😉 .🙏🙏🙏💯💯💯💯💯💯💚💚💚💚💚💚🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺
I did a double take when you mentioned the 7718 at 6.38 😂 maybe that's wishful thinking for the future 😉All the best with the new tractor, looks a lot more suitable for baling than the 99. Great video as always 👍👍👌
Tidy looking tractor mate, hope see does you well🤞🤞 front tyres look a bit worn on the outside, might wanna check the track rod inner and outer joints for play👍
Put me up in the likes of a 135, 168, 188, 265 etc from the 1970s and 80s and I could get it going. It's been a long time since I drove one but it'd come back to me. Put me up on that thing and you might as well be asking me to fly the starship enterprise on my own. I wouldn't have a clue what all the controls do tbh.
Great vid Phil good to see you enjoying the new toy. Interesting to note the difference between a 180hp rated tractor and a 215HP one. However its best to look at the engine capacity too rather than the HP solely. The 7618 has a 6.6L engine while the 99 is 7.4L. Engine power is the main requirements for PTO work like baling while in draft work like harrowing the torque requirements is higher, in these cases the torque on the 99 is superior. Moral of the story is matching the machines as best as one can will make it more efficient. As you have wide variety of tractors now it will be easier to match the work to the tractor better were you can. Saving 1000L across the baling season is no small achievement.
great video phil hope the new tractor is getting one well and great song choice it was class. (also did anyone elce see the flat tire on the 6290 so phil what happend LOL)
In one of the left screens you can zero a fuel litre counter before a job and check what you have used after and it’s accurate. In the same screen you can see how many litres it has used from new so divide that figure by the hours and you will know how hard it has worked in its life by seeing how much fuel it’s used.
Great Video, If the MF 6 cyl is so close to the 4 Cyl Kobuto, is there any need to go for an MF 4 cy at all, Extra tractor- Extra expense - Cost Benifet Analasys on cost of tractor Vis-a-V saving on fuel
Oh and i noticed the wear on your tyres at the end of the Video, you should go get her alignment done, grassmen done a segment in the video "two legends and a donkey" and showed the importance of wheel alignment and the savings it has, they definitely look out of alignment
Probably the nicest looking tractor made, my absolute favourite! Congrats on getting it again, looks well with the fusion behind her too! 😁 what's the plans for chrome mirror guards or bars or extra lights 😉😂
Shes a beauty in fairness Phil. Just wondering has the 7618 got adjustable/adaptable rear suspension like some do? Might help straighten the ride with baler when empty. Assume its just the weight transfer from an empty baler. Maybe a small weight block or ideally a crop roller in front linkage would give you some ballast??
I would always go for a 6 cylinder over a 4 cylinder, my 3085 uses less diesel than the old 3070 did, doing exactly the same work with the same implements
Is that why a local contractor who also uses a fusion got rid of his modern 4 cylinder fendt when the engine blew up and went for an older 6 cylinder which is still doing all his work
@@paulweston2326 I’m not saying it has more power or grunt I’m saying it has other benefits, much lighter travels much better in shit conditions and Ireland, much more nimble I take one stab into gateways with a 4 pot and 3 with a 6 pot, much better on fuel especially from new to old. A Fendt 716TMS is obviously going to go better and last longer compared to a 516 (I choose those two for equal hp on paper)especially if it’s fusion day in day out but other brands stick it more,I know Of stories of Fendt 4 pots having issues compared to JD and MF aswell
No offence im a big fan of the 30 series but you're about 30 years behind mate, engine development has advanced massively, modern 4 cylinder sisu engines are a different animal completely
So why do our older 6 cylinder daf trucks use less fuel than our newer 4 cylinder daf trucks, with the price of fuel as it is, using less fuel is money in the bank
The fuel monitors on tractors don't tend to be all that accurate in my experience. You really have to compare it to liters you put in the tank to get an idea. Good you like it though!
I'm a deere man myself. But spend 12 or 14 hrs a day on a 50 series clutching to let a bail out, you'll not be long changing your mind what tractor you'd take
That is a lovely looking tractor and Gerry 6420 got a new Deere too

Class Phil when ur pimping that yoke put a set of halogen beacons on her the same as the 99 it would make her stand out
And Phil, well ware and all the very best with her, smashing machine. 👍🍀

The Best of luck with your new tarter
7618 looks awesome Phil getting some good kit together now..
Very nice drone shots here Phil. Could ye do a little chat on how you work the baler and how ye make good “square” round bales if ye get me?
Whats the moisture content. ? Especially in Ireland compared to us in Connecticut usa??
Thanks for sharing your vids with us!
Mint job phil, Get yourself a tub of hand wipes for the cab otherwise the controls will be covered in 💩in no time.

Some machine best of luck with it.

Great video Phil good luck with the new tractor great drone footage. How will get the new tractor 🚜 will it be liv or bro 😎👍👍🇬🇧🏴
Very best of luck with new tractor Phil, 👌
Nice tractor Phil that's a nice amount of diesel you saved
great video phil hope the new tractor is getting one well and great song choice it was class. (also did anyone elce see the flat tire on the 6290 so phil what happend LOL)
It's got a slow that's what happened 😂👍
How many bales have u on the fusion now phil must be searous amount

Phil you are happy out in the 7618 nice looking outfit

Such a tractor
Smashing looking machine well wear.
Outfit looks good, a fair saving on fuel

सर आपकी वीडियो बहुत अच्छी है
Nice tractor lad
Well you may wear Phil. Upwards and on wards 👌👌
Would you not try 540 eco for baling? We run a Mchale F550 on a MF 7480, handles it with ease on some steep ground.
Not sure whether the eco gear in the tractor is able for it or bot
If you saw how much smaller the eco gear is you wouldn’t bale with it and how much it could cost to repair it on his type of Massey
Good video farmer pill
You mentioned a new or second rake. Why not get a front mounted rake and row as you bale?
Sweet tractor I must say!
Big clatty hands in a nice clean cab 😂
Mind your self on a hill with the brake to stop, it will take off a bit as it knocks the gear box to neutral
Probably the nicest looking tractor made, my absolute favourite! Congrats on getting it again, looks well with the fusion behind her too! 😁 what's the plans for chrome mirror guards or bars or extra lights 😉😂
Great stuff Phil... what do does uncle Ian think of it
Great video Phil. Hope your enjoying the new tractor. Well wear.
How much is a round bale of silage in Longford?
15:58 the feed silo looks like its leaning left
Prob overkill but a small metal detector in the cab for broken rake etc in the hay?
Shes a beauty in fairness Phil. Just wondering has the 7618 got adjustable/adaptable rear suspension like some do? Might help straighten the ride with baler when empty. Assume its just the weight transfer from an empty baler. Maybe a small weight block or ideally a crop roller in front linkage would give you some ballast??
you should calibrate your fuel meters before relying on them as accurate
How do you calibrate them ?
Was the Kubota running the baler in economy pto mode? Would make a difference to fuel use.
nice massey end good videos
I would always go for a 6 cylinder over a 4 cylinder, my 3085 uses less diesel than the old 3070 did, doing exactly the same work with the same implements
Tractors and machinery are different now technology has changed that amongst other benefits for 4 pots
Nice lad
Just out of interest, what happens when you dip the clutch and than have your foot on the brake and leave the clutch out?
Be careful to not let your DEF tank go empty. That’s a hell of a headache.
Keep your hands clean in your new tractor phil
👌
WELL YOU MAY WEAR.
What drone do you use
I don't know if this is nosey or not phil but is eric at farming college or normal school?
How many bales of sliage do you make a year
How many bales has your baler got??
Why ya not use the 540E?
Leave the windows closed anyway if you want to keep the air con working
more 7618
Diesel still cheap over there , here in Greece almost 2 euros
You may pto studs tight it impossible to keep them tight
The fuel monitors on tractors don't tend to be all that accurate in my experience. You really have to compare it to liters you put in the tank to get an idea.
Good you like it though!
Hi
Better than the Kubota?
Are you baling in 540 economy
She's a look s gran
Phil you're an awful man driving her with hands that dirty
I love massey's ,but give ma a 3350 john deere any day
I'm a deere man myself. But spend 12 or 14 hrs a day on a 50 series clutching to let a bail out, you'll not be long changing your mind what tractor you'd take
Get the tires changed
Lovily bus is auto steer in her
