    I have never cooked in a clay pot. I am afraid they are going to break on the gas stove! Yours is so beautiful, I am now inspired to try it. We have excellent Korean supermarkets here so I can find one there. I have recently gone to an all plant-based diet, so looking at this recipe is difficult, as the shrimp and scallops look so tasty and I am sure make the flavor of the dish, but I will use a seasoned, baked tofu instead. Your sauce, adding the hot oil to the chopped savory ingredients, is a great technique I have never seen and will certainly incorporate into my cooking now. Sorry for the long comment - I am just so pleased with what you share on the tube!

      Hi Derr, your worry is not unfounded. Not all claypots are made equal. The one we're using is from La Gourmet and it's more expensive than the typical claypot - about USD95 but it has served us very well. We have used it for over a year now and it's still as good as new. Next time if any of your friends is coming to Singapore, you can get your friend to help you buy. It's available at most departmental stores in Singapore. Tofu is going to be great for this recipe. You can also get sweet potato noodles and other plant based ingredients in this recipe to suit your taste. Thank you so so much for taking the time to talk to us;. We really appreciate it.     I made this today, with peeled prawns since Im a lazy person, I replaced the shallots to red onions as its expensive here in US to get shallots. I didn't put in enoki since my family has allergies, and did not add chilli. IT IS STILL AS GOOD! I highly recommend trying this dish, its really good and comforting for winter days. I use a normal pot instead of Le creuset (dont have one), I cooked it for about 15 minutes instead on electric stove. Preparing food takes me sometime but cooking really takes only 10 over minutes! I have some left over shabu pork, don't have miso and leftover cabbage for the other recipe :( Trying to brainstorm! Any ideas what I can do with it?

    Hi Roland, i've been following your channel. thank you for teaching us all the wonderful dishes. this is another yummy dish you shared with us. can't wait to try it this weekend. just one question, you added 1 cup of water at the start, after that do you add in more water ? have to ask you as all in my family love drinking soup. :)

      Hi Emily. We didn’t add more water. What you saw in the video was exactly what we did. The reason why there seemed to be more water was because of the moisture from the cabbage and enoki mushrooms. Hope this helps. Happy cooking!

      Hi Ivonny! Hope you're enjoying your stay in Singapore so far. We got the pork shabu shabu from our local supermarkets like NTUC, Giant and Shengsiong. Go to the frozen pork section - you should be able to find them. Sometimes there are good promotions too like 2 packs for only $7.95. Hope you can find them. Happy cooking and stay safe!
