To celebrate the first day of the new year I took an extra long walk in one of my favorite Palm Springs neighborhoods to get my 10,000 steps in for the day. I also made a new years resolution.

HNY Steve & Jim 🎉 After falling asleep twice, I managed to wake up in time to see the ball drop. Fireworks and barking dogs may have been the reason. Frey 2 is the boulder house above downtown Palm Springs named that since it was the second home the architect built for himself. Tours are usually available during Modernism Week if anyone is interested in seeing it. The view is amazing! Dates for 2024 are: 15 to 25 February 2024. Paul

Hi Mary, we were in Australia one year on New Year’s Eve and stayed in a high-rise hotel in Sydney overlooking the harbor and the opera house in the bridge. It was awesome. We love Australia. Have a wonderful new year! 🥳👍

Hi Steve. I stayed up and bought in the New Year. Some resolutions were made . Watched TH-cam,then went to bed at about 7:00 am . Now I will shovel my sidewalks and make something for supper. New Years Day tradition for me has always been to start the year with a hike/walk. Get out and enjoy the new year before it turns to crap, ha ha!

I am inspired to try to walk a little more. Today, it snowed in Toronto. I moved from Sherman Oaks, Ca nine years ago because I needed a new scene and it worked well for me. I loved Palm Springs. Los Angeles is where I lived most of my life. I just turned 69 and I can't believe it! It's always nice to see you videos. You are truly warm and friendly! Hugs! ❤❤

Happy new year, Steve!! This is the first year in over 30 years that I have New Year’s Day off. It’s snowing here in Pennsylvania. So I’m spending my day in my jammies watching movies with my 2 dogs. We’re having a girls lazy day.

I love houses and seeing different designs. Terrific idea if you go to different areas to show the architecture of this magical area. Especially for the folks who have been lucky enough to visit like I have. Maybe a trip to La Quinta and a walk around PGA West and maybe tell the history of The Bob Hope Desert Classic. Hi Steve, we enjoyed your walking video. This is the neighbourhood my Wife and I walked in everyday on our our 2 week vacation last March. We stayed at the inn at Palm Springs which is at the bottom of the hill. It’s a great place to walk every day.

I knew that Elvis had a home there in Palm Springs and I've seen vlogs of other TH-camrs videoing the home, but I'd never seen any of the surrounding area and how breathtakingly unique it is there. Happy new year CS, i’ve never seen a life snake or a tarantula here in Palm Springs. I saw both at my moms out in Quartzsite Arizona though. We have a couple of bike rental shops here in Palm Springs I’ve been wanting to do it but I can’t find anyone to do it with me. I’m adding that to my list of things to do this year though. Memories are sometimes very important on remembering those things that no longer exist especially when it comes to family, and things around us. Sometimes reflections make some days seem so much better. (At least for me they do.)

Hi Steve! I do some walking around my neighborhood but need to get back to a fuller walk. Hurt my leg, around Easter, getting better. I enjoyed your walk. Occasionally walk and talks like that would be fun to watch. So getting more activity and less treats my resolution if any! Thanks!
Cool walk around the old neighborhood. Yes, lots of memories. I always wondered how we didn't get bit by a rattlesnake climbing through, around, under and over all the rocks and bushes. I was in bed by 9pm, too. I don't really get excited about being up any more. And that was a Southwest Airlines 737 taking off 😁 Happy New Year 2024

What a lovely walk with you. I could fit right into Palm Springs, I have nothing but rock gardens here in PA. I've picked up rocks from all over the US and beyond. And I have friends bring me back a rock from places I've not been to and even places I have! The looks at airports if their luggage gets checked! Lol!

I thought that the houses would look a lot fancier than they do. I like the Victorian style mansions.
I like Victorian mansions too but we don’t have any of those here in the desert. Our million dollar homes here are very very simple add modern looking. 😎👍

Instead of an Apple Watch or Fitbit, look at a Garmin watch. I have one, and its nearly indestructible, also, only needs to be charged less than once a week!
I wouldn't mind seeing more of your walks. I love Palm Springs, and it fits nicely with my own New Years Resolution, to travel more and have more adventures.

Happy New Year🎉 we didn’t stay up late on New Years Eve. Our dog wasn’t too happy with all the fireworks. Be careful out there walking. I’ve made a resolution to exercise at least 10 minutes a day. It shouldn’t be hard as I have a big dog that loves outside . It’s to get chilly this week in Texas, so I’ll be working out inside for the most part.
