80-90MPH Amtrak Surfliner Trains in Carlsbad Village California // January - August 2021.

- All Clips recorded on my I-Phone between January 2021 and August 2021
- Most of these clips are Northbound Surfliner Trains because of the impact the wind has on the camera, and since they tend to travel much faster than Southbound Surfliners as they have had more time to speed up after leaving Solana Beach Station as opposed to southbound Surfliners that are either lined into a siding, or are only able to gather enough speed to reach around 70-79mph as you will see in this video.
- Also Apologies for the lower quality, these were recorded on my phone. I will be going down to Carlsbad to record some more footage on my camera soon.

SEIZURE WARNING
Yeah, those Amtrak Pacific Surfliner trains sure are intense to be near.
Love the excitement!! I really want to get out to the surfline one day. Seems like an awesome place for trains
There is not as much variety as there used to be, but the speed is really good down here. I do highly recommend it if you’re trying to see faster trains. But if you want to see cool locomotives, it definitely is not the place.
1:14 love the sound chargers have when they pass
No way! That speed was 90 MPH for the Amtrak, anyways nice video!
2nd busiest passenger corridor outside the NEC! People don’t know we have trains that fast in California. 😊
3:28 is the fastest and most extreme!!
My childhood was built on trains and seeing them going 100mph is insane
The chargers have great horns
1:09 has a goated sound
1:08 kind of starts it
3:03 oh yeah that's fast than daddy
Epic, trains usually fly through moorpark at night but they started stopping
Since they started stopping at Moorpark it's been my stop of choice for visiting family in thousand oaks

I know right! The cab car is not the same anymore
@@JointedRail2024 it sounds like everything else now
I gotta ask, how come some of the Amtrak California cars are running with the Pacific Surfliner?
Amtrak California Cars run w/ the Pacific Surfliner Cars when Amtrak does not have enough cars for a consist, and / or if they are transporting them for maintenance

3:49 who is the girl railfanning
No idea, they just walked up to the crossing
3:17 [applause]
Southbound Surfliners have only just exited the process of leaving Oceanside Transit Center by the time they get to Carlsbad Village Station, since Oceanside is the next station for Northbound Coasters after Carlsbad Village. If you were to record these type of videos at Encinitas Station, then the Southbound Surfliners would be faster, as Solana Beach is the next station for Southbound Coasters after Encinitas.
Absolutely. However, Southbound Surfliners have been getting lined into the siding at Encinitas more often recently, so sometimes you get SB trains going only 50-60mph through there, while NB’s are almost always traveling at track speed which is 80mph. In my opinion, I would choose to camp out at Leucadia as ALL trains, coaster and Amtrak move at a good clip through there.
Leucadia is definitely a good place for railfanning. Not only do you get high speed Surfliners going either direction, but you also get high speed Coasters. From what I know, horn shows in Leucadia are uncommon. So while each train may honk their horns a few times, especially at crossings, they won't last as long as the horn shows in Carlsbad Village or Encinitas.
3:01 THATS FASTER THAN DADDY
Dang these are slow they are going under the speed minimum because the speed minimum is 69420 lol
0:28
3:05 wrong horn
2:52 speeder
2:41
You are standing way too close to a train that fast. That scares train operators, especially recently because people have been getting hit there by trains that fast.
$300$4
.
Damn, these trains were bookin it!
I don't know how many times I've watched this but this is amazing
