Hi. Everything is just exatly as it shown in the video. Caution 22:27. Yes left them tight and I know you have to loose them but till this day this engine runs perfect (belive me or not) and have no problem on timing or wasser pump side, with this kind of timing belt replacement.
Note that the timing belt tensioner has flanges that center the belt, and even if you install the belt too far on one of the sprocket, the flanges on the tensioner should center the timing belt when you turn the engine. So I don't think it could be rubbing against the block, unless I don't know what....

If the belt is fitted too far in on the diesel pump, can it rub against the engine block?
