It’s supposed to be a running/driving engine so I’d like to keep it together Incase I ever find a car needing an engine. I am always on the lookout for cheap engines with broken belts though.
Awesome video! Im extremely familiar with the ALH tdi's seeing as I fix and sell mk4's kinda as a hobby but i rarely get to see these newer common rail tdi's. If you had to choose between a CJAA, CKRA, and a CRUA, (and had to keep all the emissions equipment) which one would you own and why?
Most mk4/mk5’s have rusted away around here sadly, and if they haven’t they’re going for cr money. Emissions intact would have to be ckra or the crua/cvca. The ckra has its own quirks but parts are easier to come by and cheaper then the one year only crua/cvca
Would u have any ideas for problems with cjaa like I took off the hot air egr pipe and block it straight to the manifold but my tune didn’t like it cause I used to be at 22 psi now I’m at 25 would u have any idea and falls into limp mode and shot a code of p00af
Randomly stumbled upon this. Got my mk7 at ~60k deleted it immediately. Been good to me so far ~100k even took a deer @ 70-75mph and kept driving. I am worried about serviceability down the line, but I’m hoping since delete and tune to get egr/def off I’ve extended my life. Going to add some water/meth to help clean A2W intercooler cleaner. Already have propane injection for gigs and 💩s
I had asked that in one of the Facebook groups as I installed the belt kit on one at 175k km. General consensus of people that actually worked on these cars was not to worry much about it. I feel like I’d maybe do it on the second change imo just for peace of mind.

Hi, I have plenty of ea288 2.0TDI for sale. Brand new 0 miles. I have 64 engines in stock. I want 3950 for fully dressed (injectors pump turbo alternator and a/c compressor mounted) and 2450 for long blocks. I'm in Nashville TN
Wow you must be the best tdi channel on TH-cam!
Thank you
I had a belt fail and it still was with in the mileage, thanks diesel geek, quality parts
the 130k interval seems like a bit of a stretch to me, I usually tell people call me in 100K and we'll get it done sooner then later
i was hoping the CJAA was next!

Cool video Josh! Thanks for all you do! You’ve helped me a ton! Liked subscribed hit the bell and followed awhile back
Thank you, glad the videos helped. Always fun to see what/how stuff fails
Do you know what the differences are between CRUA and DEJA ? I think this was the last variant of the engine before disappearing from the market. 🤔

Is it tuned for egr delete?

I doubt there will be issues if buying new parts, used stuff will be an issue though
Would you say the oil pump belt felt good at 350000km? Which timing belt change should that thing come out to be safe you think?

@JoshsJettas that's what I was figuring as I am at 217k miles and the oil pan has to come off anyways for front seal.

My engine - 1.6 clha.
It’s rare Volkswagen builds a brand new engine with all new engineering
And then only gets to use it for one year in the North American market

my 15 Passat has the CVCA with the 6M. Didn't the CRUA come in Jettas or Golfs?
Golf’s got the crua, Passat, Jetta, beetle got the cvca. I believe they’re very similar.
Great video Josh, always fun tearing into the destruction
Thanks for the info!@@JoshsJettas
