Please forgive my sloppy playing! I never profess to be very good at KH, I just wanted some footage. Doesn't help that even on Crit, level 99 is SUPREMELY broken against any story boss, it really engenders a sense of complacency.
I wasn't as satisfied with The Key of All/Wielder of the Sky, Ishimoto's official MX last battle music as I usually am with his work (why didn't Yoko get this one?), so in light of Re:Mind I decided to take my own crack at it. This one isn't a direct cover of a piece from the game so much as it is an Oscurità di Xehanort/Trio delle Tenebre style mashup of previous major and final boss themes together - instead of the backbone of this piece being a Destati/Rage Awakened combo, I made it more original Destati intro followed by Dismiss, leading into Darkness of the Unknown (with a L'Oscurità dell'Ignoto moment as the next transition) into Forze del Male, then finish with Dismiss again. See if you can find the more hidden leitmotifs! One's pretty obvious, but the other two might need a lil listening.
The video itself contains credit for all the IPs present in this, though the MIDI animation down low was rendered with the MIDITrail module from Zenith: arduano.github...

The instruments, the way the referenced tracks are mixed in and the final boss feeling, everything fits!

i love how Ansem (or destati, whichever) and Xemnas's final battle theme is in here.
The Darkness of the Unknown section also has The Key theme playing on organ underneath, lil extra for ya to listen for. Thank you!
Btw I think I've found the hidden leitmotifs that are mentioned in the desciption
3:10 - 3:22 Rage Awakened in the background
3:35 - 3:47 Dark Impetus/L'Impeto Oscuro solo violin in the background
4:13 - 4:39 Dearly Beloved (I guess that's the obvious one)
Not bad but there's a few more in there, too! I'll give you a hint; the motif of the Key of Light/Darkness from BBS is lurking in the organ behind the solo violin in the Darkness of the Unknown section. There's also a familiar Final Fantasy harp behind the Dearly Beloved piano...
This arrangement is in the SAME level as the official Limit Cut tracks. And that's saying something.

I can’t believe I am only just now finding this. Spock, this is magnificent! It feels so close to Yoko’s style, especially the high violins, piano arpeggios and the dynamic counterpoint chorus. I especially love the brass and string fills you gave “Forze del Male.” Seriously, thanks for making this!
Thanks for stopping by! I've been meaning to redo some of the mixing on this (also try to squeeze some woodwinds in *somewhere* bc I'm real bad at this) and make the brass a bit...clearer? Idunno, every time I come back to listen I feel it's still a bit too muddy. Forze definitely needed that big, EVIL brass growl sound over the organ.
See if you can find where I squeezed in a lil section of L'impeto Oscuro, and a lil bit of the FF Prelude!
