If you have clients with girls on the spectrum, an interview with them would be helpful as I have been reading that Autism may manifest slightly differently in girls . It would be nice to learn the experience with girls.

Meet up with a developmental pediatrician/ pediatric neurologist/clinical psychologist. This will help you to get diagnosis and you can start therapy.Let me know if this helps.

I am father of autism girlchild with 8 yrs .we are doing speech therapy but her speech therapist said give sizodone medicine to her.Actually she is non verbal .what I don't understand but I can do .can I stop her therapy or not.
Ideally, a speech therapist does not prescribe medications. If you want to give medications, then a neurologist or a developmental pediatrician can help. Therapy helps at any age and it will be your decision. If you have more queries, email me at info@khushi.net.in

Dear Abhirama, your therapist can give you a home program which you can follow at home. There are many books on Autism-it depends on the level at which your child is and the approach that you are following for your child.

My son now is quite independent in his daily activities, he helps a lot around the house but has not developed his communication well. He follows instructions but cannot answer effectively. We are still working on it.

It depends on the child, the functional level and so many other factors. Cannot be generalised.

Most kids respond very well to therapies upto 6 years of age. Cost of treatment varies from city to city and the type of approach you use with your child.Check local parent support groups who can guide you in your area.
My child is 4 years old n he is also autistic, hamne use play school me dala tha but school wale ne do din me hi uska admissions cancel kr diya .i am really worried about my child what to do and how to do.
Schools cannot deny admission. Did you start his therapies ? Are you following a home program? Once you start therapies, child starts improving. Do not worry, things get better as you work with your child. Tell the school that you do shadow teaching for your child if need be which means sit with your child in the class and teach him what is expected to do. Its more important to first do therapies as that is very crucial.
Same thing happened to my son. He is on ABA now.

Hey Reena .. very helpful video. Thanks a lot for this. My 1.8 months old boy just got diagnosed with autism. He is always on the go, never makes eye contact, never points to anything. We have just started therapy, OT and Speech. He is verbal,he blabbers. Will he be able to speak well? I am so worried, is it a lifelong process?
Kids get better. Your child is very young and with early intervention, he will do well.

Autism is a broad spectrum. It depends on the spectrum - where the child is and his functioning level. Many kids with Autism speak and communicate very well.

Your child is very little and these little ones improve fast.Take a second opinion from a different therapist and check if that helps.

I don't think there is any such thing as Autism therapist. A special educator or Occupational therapist or Speech therapist or ABA therapist works with many kids who are neurodiverse including Autism.

When he was three he was not able to follow teacher and he was not able to hold pencil..slowly when he was class one he start writing but he started having behavioral issues. I am sorry because I do not know of anyone in Delhi. You may find local parent support groups who can help you. OR check the parents support groups on facebook.They can refer you to the therapists that you desire.
