    **MY KARATE TIPS PLAYLIST**
    th-cam.com/play/PLh8TqyPjvCBdi85QOnN2GVFS_secrFDdA.html
    ~
    "Throughout my extensive years training in traditional karate, as well as the point style elements, I've also learned to acknowledge its strengths & weaknesses. My style of karate aims to incorporate more of a rhythmic and powerful form of the conventional point style karate. Though this is a point karate tutorial in essence, its principles can be applied and incorporated in more mixed or complete forms of combat. In supplement to my karate training, I've also trained in muay thai, judo, and bjj. I'm well aware of my imperfections and weaknesses, but now I understand it is my current goal to make my karate just as strong to be able to stand with full contact striking arts. With innovation, adaptation, and constant thirst for self-improvement, I'm here to share my journey with you all." OSS

    After watching I am now even much better at kumite. My biggest takeaways are the extra step before landing the gyaku zuki, and the feint to initiate a reaction then looking to come over the top or using a defensive mawashi geri with the lead leg. Very detailed explanation and easy to follow along. I havent seen a better youtube Sensei and I mean it when I say so. Oss Sensei Jason!

    Thank you for this tutorial! I do my blitz with weapon first (independent motion) movement as my karate style teaches it that way. The forward pressure is very strong and fast and we get more hand attacks for the distance and steps used.

    • @SENSEIJASON
      @SENSEIJASON  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You’re welcome brother and thank you for watching! Yes, some schools have different variations on the blitz, can you explain your blitz with your “weapon” first? Again, thanks for your support and wish you happy training OSS 🥋🔥⛩

    • @terrylevin8204
      @terrylevin8204 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What you mean weapon?

    • @Docinaplane
      @Docinaplane 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@SENSEIJASON Before I answer your question, and thank you for asking, I want to commend you on your early morning runs. I've done that for a long time and found it was a great foundation for endurance as a martial artist. OK, independent motion. I learned it through Joe Lewis who ;
      learned it from Bruce Lee. It's one of those principles that has been mostly lost. Once you learn it, you will have to make it your own with practice and use it your individual way. I'm sure you understand this. The concept is based on if the weapon (hand, foot) itself moves before the rest of the body, (shoulders, hips) your opponent will not visually pick it up until it's too late for them to block. I've hit people like a deer in the headlights, and I've been the deer too against skilled practitioners, lol. The best techniques for this are the back knuckle strike off the lead hand, The reverse punch, and the roundhouse (low) and sidekick off the lead leg. You move the weapon (hand) maybe a foot or more and then follow with moving your body forward. With the back knuckle you only advance the lead leg, with the reverse punch you step through with the back leg. With the low roundhouse off the front leg, you slide forward on the supporting leg. If my description was not adequate. Here is a link of Mike Dillard founder of Century Martial arts. He started that billion dollar company in his garage by the way :-) th-cam.com/video/zjzY67PPY0I/w-d-xo.html Best regards!!

    I think people are maybe missing what the season is telling us about Amanda and instead arguing about what they think is an “epic death”.
    Amanda is 100% selfless. The game is explicit about this. Since day one she’s been taking on mission after mission that could easily kill her and never complains or gets tired. She narrowly escaped death by the Witness, which leaves everyone shooketh, and her response… I don’t have time for this.
    She has no time for Crow’s love and concern, no time for a relationship, no time for her own feelings. She’s still coming to terms with losing Cayde because the woman never makes time for herself, she’s always helping others.
    When you read the lore there isn’t a single person in the tower who doesn’t respect her. Cayde was her bestie, Zavala treats her like a daughter (she’s in his story cinematic from way back), Mithrax adores her, Even Caitll thinks she’s a boss because they are both fighter pilots.
    The final cutscene is not played all that well, the geography of the scene is not very clear so it’s hard to tell where all the characters are in relation to each other…
    But Amanda clearly sees the countdown and decides to not tell anyone…because she’s more concerned with saving everyone else.
    It’s a better, more “epic death” than being shot down by the Witness in space because it’s perfectly in character and more importantly its a death that she chooses.
    And if it wasn’t obvious enough that she’s the bravest person in the tower they have Zavala kneel at her resting place reciting the Speaker’s mantra about Guardians (devotion, bravery, sacrifice…) because even he knows that without the Light she is literally the perfect guardian.
    So maybe the cinematic or the mission was poorly executed but the story makes total sense and is in keeping with Amanda’s character since the beginning.

    Is it possible to fight well in Kumite without using the traditional Kumite stance?

    • @SENSEIJASON
      @SENSEIJASON  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes of course, and as I mentioned in the video, the traditional karate stance is meant to be dynamic. Meaning, it is a big mistake to keep your feet and legs in the same position at all times. You always should be shifting, stepping, moving, changing levels and angles. A good karateka will be able to use many "looks" in their karate stance.

      Of course, stay on the look out for future videos. I haven’t made any videos specifically about self defense yet. It has always been my way to incorporate other arts in to my karate fighting such as: judo, bjj, boxing, Muay Thai. If you have a grasp on these styles including karate you would be a pretty tough dude. I do have some judo and jiu jitsu vids on the channel as well. Also some Muay Thai and boxing here and there. Jason Leong I can't agree with you more it is all about breathing and using your hips. Now I come from a BJJ Boxing and Mauy Thai background because in the MMA world, Karate can be at at disadvantage, because of that wide stance you naturally take. A Jiu Jitisu or judo practitioner can take advantage but Karate is still useful for doing and learning how to do a quick counter attack. Keep on doing what you do and I subscribe.
