Running sales and best offers are what's keeping me going. Things aren't great but better than before.
When I'm too lazy to list,I tend to just end and sell similar my oldest items.That has saved me so many times. My store has a 91% STR with 180 items. Everything you said is very true. I've only been reselling fulltime since March. I hope to hit $50k+ in sales by the end of the year. I just need to source more. I currently list about 5 a day. Tryna make it to 10,but I'm so picky with what I pick up. I tend to not buy bread and butter items but thats gonna have to change.
Print off your goals and put it by your bed, so it's basically the first thing you see when you get up. Worked for me in 2023 and on track to hit my 2024 goals as well.
I used to have great sales, and I have been on the decline. When I started listing or relisting it would be a matter of a couple of days before sales would explode, but now, I hear crickets. Also my views are mostly on zero. I don't know what happened.

Good tips. Summer slow down and crappy economy are not helping. Some of my old stuff, I can't even get people to accept 30-50% off best offers.

I usually send watchers 10 to 20 percent off offers. No bites. Always counter offers wanting more off.
15-20% is what hits for me
All it does for us is cause more low balls..and we get lots of those especially from other sellers .
I run only auctions on Ebay. Yes it's been SLOW. Much fewer views, watchers, and last second bids. Sold prices have been significantly lower than same time last year.

Dump it if it doesn't sell in 6 months? Never. I sell long tail items for the most part. I actually have a sale going in category at 20% this month with no sales. Personally, I don't believe in ending and relisting/sell similar as it can take Google 30 days to index it.

@@RockstarFlipper I believe my interpretation is valid. My biggest selling category I already accept offers of up to 35% so to reduce the price I would be lowering it into "dumping" territory as far as I'm concerned. I am more than willing to dump a dog item.
Of course you did not specify any categories for which this may or may not be a good strategy while at the same time not explaining why 6 months was a magic number.
I've picked up a lot of good tips and tricks from you over the years for which I am thankful.

Listed less last year and had 33k in sales by June, ended with 78k. This year I have posted more, and have 5.5k in sales coming up on June. What's going on?
Everyone is broke. At least I am and pretty much everyone I know personally. Nothing left after paying all the basic bills. It's the new and improved American Dream. (George Carlin explained it perfectly.) Eventually, seemingly sooner rather than later, we'll own nothing and be blissfully happy. Like "1984" but much more so in 2024. Watch that movie "Idiocracy" from 2006 -- it's billed as comedy but it's actually a documentary. ;)

I do a lot of these steps frequently, some daily and it keeps my store steady and growing. Even when things seem slow.
Thanks for the tips! I don't have a store but I ended all my listings (22) and relisted them all, added best offer. Lets see what happens. I plan to list more this weekend too.

Do you notice a difference between Relist and re-listing as a sell similar? I know if you do end and re-list, the views/watchers and everything does reset (which is what we want, correct?)

I would suggest also doing Coupons on your account on top of the list you gave.
I am doing best offer and coupons only. In may I had a coupon with 30% off for all buyers. Had some decent sales, and some buyers even didn't use the code, because for some reason the coupon is only available on PC. The app doesn't show the coupon code.

I do everything you have said except one day handling. I’m not able to do that. I love working the business. Sales have been gang busters. Slow over the holiday. But it will be fine. Just keep doing it! 😊

May 2024 was somewhat slow.
May 2023 was slow.
May 2022 was slow.
May 2021 was slow.
Do we see a trend here?
Yes.
May is traditionally a slower month.
2020 doesn't count, due to the "covid" bump.
Even though May has been slow, there is no shortage of higher dollar sales
My ASP for May is currently $119.
Lower priced items are where the erosion is located.
Definitely, do what you can to jumpstart your sales. They will improve in June.
Seller since 2017 and my best sales month was May 2022. May 2023 not so much. May 2024 second best month and over a year. Go figure.

They are fine
1.I list 15 a day every day same time I’m consistent.
2. Whole store is at 8%
3. Sales markdown running weekdays and weekends
4. Send offers out as soon as I see them pop up on eBay app.
5. Best offers are also turned on.
6. Same day ship handaling time.
7. End 400 and sell similar and makes changes to all 400.
Sales still soooo slow I’m 100% feedback no defects no pending returns my.

HI You are exactly correct I been doing those things consistently for a while and yes I do get sales ever day when I get a large amount to list I spread it out listing 5 to 10 items each day instead of 25 all at once I am currently following 2 other ebay sellers who sell what I sell and see if there list 10 a day for 30 days straight how many sales do they get One lists 10 each day and her sales are between 3 and 5 each days with a few days a bit more but mostly 5 a day I do 5 a day promoted listing and I have 51 persent off and I do get a few sales each day the funny thing is the day I had the mist sales 25 i didnt list anything that day go figure
Theres def no reason for 0 sales days if your consistent

What if you sell mainly womens jeans would you still only go 3% promoted listings in a category that is as flooded as that?
3% extra on top of 13/14% is all im willing to give ebay.

Does promoted listings matter if you are in a niche and pretty much the only seller in your category? Like for instance you sell original artwork where there is no real competition because your items are unique?
Not as important no
FWIW, in my experience, NO! The proverbial 99% of my items are and have been surplus electronic components, which isn't anywhere near as niche... Unless you consider how few USA-based sellers remain. Most are in China, or pre-locate inventory and have someone ship it for them. Short duration listings, or frequent ending and relisting, was a failure because by the time the search engines picked up the listings and potential buyers fond them, they'd ended. Best results were achieved by respectful self promoting in electronics and related forums. This is one way I promote my e-commerce site. I also set up web pages listing and linking to my listings and then promote those pages to search engines. One day shipping helped a lot, and adding that I TRY to ship same day, which most of the time I did, helped more. Buyers want their stuff ASAP! (Lots of "!!!") A neat ("UNCLUTTERED and BLING-FREE") professional-appearing template helped, and surprisingly using HTML5 semantic tags and clean layout moved my listing to the top of the search engine results. Make your listings reflect that you know your stuff, know how to ship it professionally, and that you take your business seriously.
I use Promoted Listings so that my item shows up on other sellers item pages under MORE LIKE THIS Sponsored, Visually Similar Items, and Buyers Also Viewed. If a person is actively searching for art then you want in front of them. Promoted gives your art more exposure and more opportunities to be viewed. Go to an item page, even your own, and see the redirect in action.

If you have unique items. Don’t use it. Don’t need it. If you are in saturated categories like clothing you basically have to use it
It’s an OPINION. Basically. But I’ve ran many tests and so have thousands of sellers and 2% the minimum works well. More so than not.
Your call. Try it. See what happens

Thanks for the tips Casey. I have a couple of questions for you. If we have best offer on our items and we run a sale, should we take best offer off during the sale and add it back after the sale ends? Also, what length of time do you suggest to run a sale? Thanks, I think that’s it.
Keep Best Offer active at all times. In sales, you want to know if there is a buyer out there shopping. Best Offer attracts that buyer regardless of whether you accept, counter, decline that offer. At least you have a chance to get the sale. Ask yourself, "Will I eat tomorrow if I sell this item for x$ ?" You are usually only a few dollars apart in price. I recomp with every offer. Can the buyer get the item for less from someone else? If so, take the offer. Get the sale....

I'm struggling with accepting best offers since I feel like I price my items fair. I use terapeak and go for the average or below price so I know they're not overpriced. Unsure what to do
If it’s a few dollars I accept it but if it’s like $30 offer for something that's 39.99 eh idk

$30 on a $39 item isnt "horrible" its a little low, but depends... what did others sell for (and not the highest one) and how much did you pay

I started in january and since march I've had listings scheduled the same amount ex: 4 to post at the exact same time daily as far out as I can especially when I go on time away for 10 days every month due to health issues. But sometimes I schedule 6 listings for a week then back to 4, and sometimes I list a few items daily in addition to ones already scheduled. I'm wondering if thats messing up my listing consistently algorithm or is it not THAT exact of a science?
a couple times I delete and sell similar in one day like twice a month like 20 items and I'm sure that makes ebay think I'm listing 30 one day then 4, 4, 4, 7, 5, 4 ,4........... bleh.........

I remember in the past, we talked about about end all listings, and then sell similar to relist all items to refresh your listings to go back to the top. Is this still a thing and if so, how often should we do this? I just saw near the end of the video that you mentioned end and sell similar. Every how many days should we do this? What if one of the listings says that 100 units are sold do you think it’s a good idea to end that listing and sell similar if it stop selling? I know that I will lose that history.
If it stopped selling then make a change. Change out your main picture, add features under Item Specifics, and edit your description (use AI). OR>>>>Add Free Shipping or Add a coupon or Add it to a sale via Markdown manager. End/sell similar if all else fails or has been done or you don't want to discount the item. Do something, anything, if it has stopped selling.

@@KeiganMcCullouch that’s ONE way to fix a store. All of the other changes are proven eBay fixes and I have been helping 100+ sellers the last month make these changes and 90% have seen dramatic sales increases with no other changes. I have the screenshots. Store links and emails to back it up.
