I started by "How could you do that it almost looks like it's on purpose" and then I remembered the time I rode a bicycle over a storm drain and broke the wheel so, uh... I definitely don't have a leg to stand on here
@@AmputeeOT Yeah, I get it. Hopefully you can get the crutch back soon. Anyway, I didn't mean it to sound like I thought you'd deliberately dropped it all that way. With the storm drain I thought the grill was narrower than the tires but I somehow turned it exactly the wrong way. Something that seems reasonable when assessing turns out to be a bad idea *in retrospect* so frustrating
In my 30s. I still had 2 legs. Could not use one of them. Spinal injuries. Had to use crutches for 5yrs. Could not walk due to the serious injuries. I got around easily with crutches. Strong arms is a must and great balance. Doing it on one crutch 🩼 priceless. Ps: In in my 60s now and can't use crutches. As we get older. The skin is looser. Pinches too much. Strength is not there. Amazing how fast that happens. Your arms will stay strong. Because you will always be using them in this way. God bless you and watch your step. ❤

Okay, your experience is worse. I do have two legs. But when I was working in NYC, I was crossing the street wearing high heels. The heels were skinny. All of a sudden, one of the heels got stuck in a crevice in the street and wouldn't come out. Well, the light changed and all the cars had to wait for me and my co-workers to extract my shoe from the crevice--I wasn't going to let it be run over. My friend in Chicago, however, had it far worse. She's a paraplegic and was wheeling herself across a set of freight line tracks on her way to work a few blocks away. A wheel suddenly got stuck between the metal train rail and a chunk of missing concrete. AND A TRAIN WAS COMING!!!!. Thank God some wonderful construction workers pulled her to safety. She was crying hysterically and had a case of temp. PTSD of sorts. They kept trying to calm her down, gave her water and made sure she was safe. I saw those tracks on a visit to Chicago a few weeks later and could see this happening. After that, a friend of hers at work decided to wheel her to the office every day. She now has a new job in the suburbs and drives to work. Sounds safer.
I love your videos. I am 2 1/2 months post surgery, got my prosthesis today. Question, have you used forearm crutches instead of the underarm type. Thanks, Harry
I am a bk amputee going on 3 years now. I still have trouble walking with my prosthesis , so a walker is still necessary. Watching you walk with only one crutch is inspiring.
Funny because Asian amputees only use one crutch...how do you feel with the looks and attention with one leg...stares bother you...had any silly questions yet

Well… ha.
Putting it in there was on purpose. It dropping 15 feet down not so much. I expected it to go down like a foot at most and stop.

I'm a lbk amputee myself & I've found it easier to use a single crutch in most cases (frees up my right hand to carry stuff).
I bet the maintenance people find all kind of things under that hole, but they're probably shaking their heads over this one! 🤪
Yeah probably! I want to go back and fish it out.

Excellent crutching!

Oh dang all of that sounds scary, especially your friend in a wheelchair EEEEEEK

. My prosthetic has slipped off before . I'm careful around storm drains.
Must be tricky to get from point a to b without a wall, ledge, rail ,using one crutch.

Now you need to learn how to crutch with one. Check out amputee Brittney she is really good at it.
That hole seems… umm… concerning to me, to put it mildly.
RIGHT??? A toddler could step down there and scrape their little leg up.
Oh nooo
I see you have your jeans tailored
Yeah, I did that just for fun
Ahhh!!!! You fool!!
Felicidades es usted muy valiosa.
Cool.More video in crutches

I’d assume she’s gotten used to it by now

I'm used to it at this point. It doesn't bother me. I don't think any questions are silly anymore, they all come from a place of genuine curiosity.
