    I’m a machinist for the company that made your leg, it’s great to see that what we make changes lives & interesting to watch it in action.

    You're back, my prosthesis was referring your channel to new amputees, he said it is so needed, I am going to hike the Appalachian Trail starting February 23rd, amputees can do more than we think

    I'm so envious that you just step into your prosthetic! Mine is such a to-do in comparison! My socket is just a socket, it has a "drain", I have to use a special sock-thing they call a Pull, with a loop I string through the drain to loop around my foot, to pull my stump into the socket. Then that socket gets its own sock, THEN I just step into the leg, which I have to strap on with a leather belt.
    Also that you can STAND on one leg! Never mind do all the things you do on one leg! I can only stand if I rest my other knee on my wheelchair. If I try standing I start tipping in a bit under a second.

    My above knee prosthetic is very much like yours. I do not wear a liner however, one is a total suction socket.

    When your stump gets more stable, a skin fit socket is the way to go, no more sleeves to slide down or constrict your stump. With the skin fit sockets, it is better if wicking boxer briefs are worn with part of the briefs going into your socket, but not far enough to lose suction, to avoid painful ingrown hairs.

    Another thought for your socket is to have the valve inset into a protective socket, like an eye socket, to protect the valve from being broken.

  • @rysammy
    @rysammy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Use 90% rubbing alcohol, in a squirt bottle to spray the inside of your socket before putting your leg inside the socket, this aids as lubrication and evaporates very quickly. It is also better to step into the socket with the valve out, this allows you to step into the socket without resistance and you can also feel into the valve hole with your finger to check if you are all the way down into your socket, then screw the valve in. Once the valve is in, put weight on your socket and press the valve once or twice to make sure all the air is displaced.

    Caught my thumb in my socket and realized I can crack pecans with it... LOL! Talk about learn to wear a gel cover over the socket real fast... was like slamming a finger in a car door... when I pushed myself up off the floor from a sitting position to a standing position... and caught the thumb in the socket joint... I had a few explicit words to say in that event...LMAO! Live and learn... have a great day and thanks for the videos...

    If you don't mind me asking, what happens to your leg? And also what do you do to keep from sweating from the liner. I tend to sweat a lot from my liner.

    • @rohansamal
      @rohansamal ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I'm a bit late to reply. But I think initially a lot of sweat is expected, Although as you get used to it, the sweating reduces. A key thing is to clean your liner every day

      @@rohansamalhello thanks for the response. Ive had my prosthetic leg for about 2yrs now and I still sweat a lot, but I find using deodorant helps with smell a bit and a little bit of the sweat.
