Thanks a lot! Don't have to much experience with working in unreal so far, and this very cleanly explained the task at hand (hehe) in addition to adding a few other bits of knowledge in the process. Keep it up^^

Great video! You should also promote the spawned actor to a variable and check to make sure it's valid before removing it, otherwise you may get errors.

Hi, thank you for the great tutorial! It worked with adding one thing but I want to add a hat to my character as well. I went about the same process but its not showing up. Am I missing something?

Is there a way to attach to multiple sockets? Like two feet?

so when you added the preview of the sword, and it wasnt in position at all, then you moved the socket to account for that? does that mean that other objects you attach to that socket wont be aligned either right? or is the point to create a socket for each item the player might hold so you can position it? I'm making a game with lots of items you could hold so im just wondering what the best solution is. Maybe edit the pivot point of each item to be where I want it to be held?

When you attach an object to a socket, the object's pivot point will be aligned with the socket's pivot point. So, if the preview of the sword was not in the correct position, you would need to adjust the socket's position so that it is in the correct position relative to the character's hand. However, this does not mean that other objects you attach to the same socket will not be aligned properly. It depends on the pivot point and position of each object.
If you have a lot of items that the player can hold, creating a separate socket for each item may not be the most efficient solution. Instead, you could create a single socket and adjust the position and rotation of each item's pivot point to align with the socket. This would require some work on your part, but it would allow you to reuse the same socket for all items.
Alternatively, you could create a socket hierarchy where each item has its own socket, and each socket is parented to a main socket. This would allow you to adjust the position and rotation of each item's socket while still keeping them all aligned with the main socket.
Ultimately, the best solution will depend on the specifics of your game and the objects you want to attach to the character's hand. Consider the number of items you want to have, the complexity of each item, and the amount of customization you want to allow for each item when deciding on the best approach.
