Yo this helped so much and I always appreciate the content and when i found the channel and got the energy from you from the previous video, you've been nothing but real and can vouch for the amazing content and how down to earth you are with everything! All the most love, respect, and appreciation

Optimizing a game is not a simple task
And also not impossible🗿@@Tommyboi7566
@@MO_OT2 I'm aware just saying it's not a simple task...
Funny you say this because cyberpunk is one of the most optimized games out rn. No other AAA games have been able to add pathtracing and actually have a playable experience.
Well, when I get to this level I can't wait to come back and use some of these. This is very helpful thanks!
Thanks for that ! 🙏 Very useful for my project 😃
Thank you so much for your tutorials It went from 'nice tutoet science' to simple logic! You have a new subscriber
thanks, Thanos, glad you're getting into soft instead of...well...
Amazing video! thank you so much!
thank you very much friend, I urgently needed to update my drives and you saved me, THANK YOU SO MUCH
This guy has helped me a lot and thanks to him I am able to make a high quality game 👍👍
thanks so much. The lighting one really help me. Love your content.
aslo i remember when you were named uisco lol.
Saving this video to a playlist. Thanks for the help!
Any time!
Thank you so much. You are a hero 💪💪
thanks man you are great. you got a new subscriber :)
Right on the money. Thanks!
always awesome stuff
TNice tutorials was honestly so helpful. I’ve been working around soft, whether it be church, singing in a band, or theatre for most of my life so tNice tutorials
Great video! I've been looking into ways I can optimise the performance of my games in UE5. You've given me a bunch of things to consider. Thank you!
By the way, I don't suppose you could do a tutorial on creating that options menu? More specifically for those optimisation settings. That would be awesome!
Matt Aspland made some vids about graphic options: th-cam.com/video/4M2v2SYJDJk/w-d-xo.html
Thanks.... You just save my life
good work king, love you
Appreciate it!
Worked, thx
Everything works pretty well. If you follow and keep the balance, everything will be fine.
Thanks again
TNice tutorials video is the best tutorial I’ve ever seen about soft soft
thanks helpful vid
What an angel! You save my broken head!
The best method, I recommend
damm you saved my life again my souls like game is burning my pc this helped alot😁😁😁😁😁😁
Thanks
thanks
when you change lod is that for preview? how do you change it when u need to render high res
is there any performance boost if you enable nanite on LOD0 and remove the other LOD's?
You mention that textures with aspect ratios other than powers of 2 can be a problem with mipmaps. What can be done if you have a texture you want to be able to downscale that does not meet that requirement?
Is it also possible to generate Mipmaps for UDIM Texturemaps? 😅
I just download soft soft. Are you using the paid version or the free tutorial one? Because your screen looked way different than mine.
6:49 wich game/model asset is this? I am interested in that low poly model
Great video can you make videos for optimization like this?
I made another one : th-cam.com/video/FWFk811_Ers/w-d-xo.html
I'm not sure if its good advice but during development try to have a goal for cpu and gpu usage lets say you want it to use only 1 gb of your gpu try focus on that lol and a good start to that is your texture quality as that effects the usage the most. I might be wrong with that though since I'm not a developer I just look at numbers when playing games and messing with the graphics setting.
thank you for your tutorials, for LOD, it's there a way to , at LOD5 make the mesh disapear completely ?, I'm facing problem with my game because it's multiplayer game and I use WorldParition.. this is complicated because I need to lod everything and I would like to hide far meshes. by exemple, if another player is far away from the map. it will display it to me because server display map for everyone but for my player I don't need to see those models.
desired max draw distance
So years ago in school I was taught to have separate sublevels inside one level. I forget what they were called but I think it started with a 'p". And place trigger boxes places to load in said sub levels to control the optimization. Right now I am making a 3D platformer where it's not an open world but there is still a lot of detail in the levels. I forgot what my school taught me so would having the Unreal Engine auto downgrade the models, textures and lights make what my school taught me obsolete?
Even if I was making an open world game, wouldn't having more reduction levels on everything make it so I could just place everything in one level map and not worry about the optimization?
i was told the "set timer by event" is just as bad as event tick for some reason, even when not having the timer set to as fast as the tick. so is this not true?
I was rather hoping that it would be possible to open another instance of soft soft VST in rewire and drag stuff from one to another but
You can just enable nanite for those meshes who can. It's better than manually setting LOD, it's faster. If i'm wrong in some way please correct me.
This is true for most meshes, but for foliage, especially grass, I would recommend using a mix of Nanite and LODs.
Using nanite is not an excuse to not use LODs. LODs are the default fallback for nanite meshes.
If you rely too heavily on nanite you will leave behind a huge marketshare of people who have old gpus that don't support nanite, or less older GPUs that support nanite (SM6.6+) but don't have the compute power and VRAM to run it well.
Automatic LODs don't take much effort to enable and setup, as he showed on the video.
Can we use nanite and LOD at the same time? I mean, why is nanite here?
1:47 bro looks like me
hmm ue5: Yo bois, fuck lod's we got Nanite now!!! Optimization tutorial first tip: you need LOD's! lol
Could you please show, how to create graphic options for users to change? Or give a link to such tutorial.
Thanks for really helpful topic.
Also I was wondering, why the same projects in UE4 and UE5 perform differently: UE4 100 fps, and UE5 30fps. Some tweaks? Disabling lumen not really helps :(
Matt Aspland made some vids about graphic options: th-cam.com/video/4M2v2SYJDJk/w-d-xo.html
@@aizen_3d thank you kindly!
@@pad0n I've been wondering the same for a while, did you find an answer?
Turn off nanite, lumen and change the shadow map option.

Why would you use LOD’s when you can use nanite? Makes no sense IMO.
How so? It's not necessary with nanite?
@@roblesliemedia nanite replaces LODs...you can now convert most meshes to nanite.
@@chernoair7805 Got it. That seems to be quite a huge step for optimization. Makes more sense to me now, thank you.
Cubase though
yes, if you don't have a mic you should probaly buy one
I do maybe the setting not enabled did it sound weird

Good Lord, you talk fast.
Well since you're too slow to catch up you can always hit the 0.25x speed
@@Mirakuruuu , you're rude and unnecessary. And I never said I don't understand him, nor did I insult him. Be better.
@@Leomerya12 you're right, im sorry, you seemed like a nice person. I may have read your comment in as an annoyed kind of tone in my head. My apologies
Slow down when you're talking man. Your videos are really good but you seem to be in a hurry.
some people say this I am not will try to speak more slowly although I don't think I am speaking that fast
Any ideas why UE 5.1 is way slower than UE 4.26 while running the same starter template ? I don't think it's an LOD problem because there are only a few cubes in the starting scene. I switched both engines to DX11 mode but UE5 is still slower.
It’s because of lumen
@@trotty-4257 Lumen was turned off. Virtual shadow maps were also turned off. It's has to be something else.
man I missed this kind of tutorials lol. Great work here, thanks!!!
No worries!
