I absolutely love this style of art, and find it amazing to watch.

Don't know if this is of use but if you want to do fine dark lines you can do this by running a sharp 4 to 9H through a darker tone and it will carry the tone producing a fine dark line saving the need to constantly having to sharpen a soft pencil. Also as it runs out of the tone and lightens towards the end of the stroke it produces a tapering effect. Hope this was helpful.

I developed this kind of style similar to you and that's exactly what I love about those texture marks, like it's a bit exaggerated but it like it!

Any tips on how to be more patient? Lol! That's my struggle.
I also seriously think I have some form.of ADHD because my mind goes everywhere and so does my art. I'm not kidding when I say that having a glass of wine before drawing really does help calm my hyper mind down and I can focus better. Silly I know. But patience is something I struggle with.

    Matthew 5:1-12
    New International Version
Introduction to the Sermon on the Mount
5 Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2 and he began to teach them.
    The Beatitudes
    He said:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
    for they will be comforted.
    5 Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
    for they will be filled.
    7 Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
    for they will see God.
    9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Thanks so much for your upload. I love that you show both: time lapses as well as real time parts, be it in the main video or at the end of it (when I started watching those videos I was so "envious" how fast pros could draw ;) I'm looking forward to your next videos on realistic drawing (actually, I enjoy all of your videos; watching you drawing is kind of meditation for me). Thank you!

Dan, thank you so much for your efforts (intentionally or unintentionally) of democratizing Arts. In the era of an upcoming 4th Industrial Revolution with all the AI produced visual arts, sounds & voices, chess AI, GO AI, or literally anything in general, I think videos like these help broadening the importance of human creativity by giving tutorials on how to express it, FREE, of charge, and thus helps raising the standards of an average human or the next generations will be capable of. I really appreciate what you're doing. You're doing me, a Gen-Z born and a CS student, a great service of materializing what I daydream during boredom with no background of any Art Academy. Thank you, again, for doing what you're doing.
