I have 2 kuru togas and a sketchbook now. I lost all my art supplies and drawings roughly 5 months ago, my garage burned down. Thankfully I wasn’t in there when it happened, I can always get new supplies and make more art so I’m staying positive.
@@muzinene5543 it was out of my control. I just try to look forward and continue my work. I was devastated that I lost all of it, then I realized I can do it again and better this time with more experience. I stay positive because i turned the sadness of losing all of it into dedication to recreate what was lost.
All of these tips pretty much apply to where I am right now. Mastering art in any ways depend on what you currently have right now. You don't need to go to art school or workshop unless it's the only choice. You can also master art by self-teaching; you can watch or find tutorials on internet, or read an art book. Internet has wide variety of sources of information. This way, you can find your own style and technique. I'm not saying art school is unnecessary or bad. It just comes down to what you have right now. In other words, you can learn art in many ways.
I recently got back into drawing after dropping it a couple of years ago. I’m learning anatomy and have a really basic understanding of perspective, lighting and composition. Your videos help a lot!
An honest review of the necessary route to take in becoming a successful artist such as you obviously have become. Slow and steady progress will hopefully lead to a worthwhile hobby or maybe for some even a career. Good, sensible advice.
When learning the fundamentals of art, it doesn't matter where you begin WITH THE EXCEPTION OF PERSPECTIVE AND FORM. Always start off with this fundamental because if you just push it aside, none of the other fundamentals will be worth anything. If you can't think like an artist, you can't become an artist.
you're videos are extremely helpful for people like me. I read very well, I just retain much better when I observer while doing. It's very difficult for me to read about perspective and vanishing points and get it, but after watching your videos it really clicked. By the way I love your drawings too. Thanks
After around 2 years I consider myself intermediate, and I'm happy that I've been following all 5 tips up to this time 😅 The documentation process was something I knew I had to do - not only can you see the improvements, it keeps you sane when you hit walls. And you're right, no need to be public with it. I found it relatively easy to separate myself from the trash art, so I post almost everything. Also, I'm not trying to make it to "the industry" just to be told when/how/what to draw. I got a few commissions recently that I did on the side, which gave me a taste of selling to someone - it's not as bad as I thought, but still, it's not something that keeps me drawing more. In the end I just want to enjoy the process and get better for my own sake, money is just a bonus.
Thank you for stressing the aspect of being patient and not expecting to be good right away. Many people tend to forget it and give up soooo quickly when they are not able to achieve what they want right away. I suppose it is the notion that prevails nowadays in many fields. I believe it needs to be said again and again: persevere and be consistent in the work you put in, you'll see progress eventually - as long as you challenge yourself and not settle on always drawing things you are already good at. Thank you!
Hi I used to draw many moons ago, I really love art! I stopped because all of my drawings were thrown out by a very mean human and I got a mental block nevertheless I’m ready to start back can you recommend some books for me to get?
You forgot one thing! it's really is okay to copy stuff from others aswell, if you are having trouble coming up with your own ideas at first. those'll come i'm sure

@The End weird humor
How do you do that? Like I really have a bond with every sketch I do...any disturbance towards it, it hurts. How you keep such a positive energy?
