My tortie talks constantly, yells at me, herds the dogs around when they are irritating her, chirps, purrs, has long conversations with me where we both respond, she's an incessant talker. She is also incredibly intelligent and bossy. She's the love of my life.
My family had a feral calico adopt us when she wandered out of the woods when our house was being built in Florida. She took care of the rodents. After the grounds had been cleared, we had a lot of debris to burn. During bonfires, she would come and crawl into someone's lap and proceed to talk about her day. A constant stream of meows and grunts, requiring no prompting from us. Big Momma lived to be 21 years old, and a fine old lady she was.
Awwwwwwwwwwwww! As an Iraq veteran with PTSD, the VA keeps trying to issue me a Service Dog. I don't like dogs. So....I often come to this video and it gives me such peace. I LOVE CICI!!
+navyman4 What the hell good would a service dog do for someone with PTSD. I swear these doctors don't know what to do so they make stuff up. my advice to anyone. Don't get a dog or cat unless you want to. Otherwise it will just be a pain in the ass for you.

My tortie Molly lived to be 20 years old. she adopted my husband and me when he was in college in St Louis. She was one of the most amazing individuals I've ever known. she was smart, and strong at only 7 pounds. she chirped just this one. She passed away about a year and a half ago. Hearing the chirp if this cat is comforting. I can close my eyes and imagine she's near.
I Had a cat like this and she would also blink and talk as well:) She passed away today and I miss her dearly!! she is my everything! R.I.P Jonsanna You will be missed so much!

my wife & i have 2 torties - one is a bobtail, the other is a dilute. both are insanely quirky. the bobtail sounds just like Cici - chirps and partial meows usually. the dilute is extremely chatty. she has a really smokey meow...almost like a goat trying to meow. both are absolute sweethearts. the bobtail nibbles our fingers alot when we pet her. the dilute gets cranky after alot of attention and will run away only to return after she calms down for a bit. nice video!
Sometimes I'll do this with my tortie (Lacey). It's amazing how much they can talk! I was in the shower and she started to meow. So I meowed back and we had quite the lovely conversation.
She reminds me of my baby Talula. She mostly vocalizes in her throat...mmm, mmm, MMfh!!! Everyone thinks they are sharing their life with the cutest Tortie, but she's truly adorable. She looks like a big kitten, and her mannerisms are quite unique.

I have a tortie whom I mistakenly thought was a calico, so I named her Callie. But I love this breed. They are so docile and friendly. She doesn't do this noise, though. Love it!
I have one that looks a lot like this and she is really old, about 17 we think. she constantly meows at you if she wants attention but he meow sounds much lower and kind of cranky, lol, but she is always purring through her meow, which is makes it sound so odd. Love tortoise shell cats though, the coloring is so cute.
She's so cute, I have a tortie too, and Cici's voice sounds like my siamese's voice. The siamese one is the most loving cat I ever had, she purrs so loud when is in company of any person that it's near her.

She has the most rapid, split-second meows I've ever heard. Most cats I've heard have meows of longer duration than that. She's a cute one in any case. :)
Torties have a LOT of personality, sometimes good, sometimes bad. Usually both though lol. Our cat Mittens was a generally friendly cat, but she only *really* liked my wife. Anyone else could pet her few moments before she decided enough was enough, and gave you a nice chomp on the hand, lol.
I think I have a torti as well. Her name is Oreo because of her colors. She has a cream line going up her nose to her eyes and a redish-creamish color above one eye. she is mainly black with random brownish markings on her, with a partial white stomach and white back left paw on the bottom. I never knew what she was and my vet never told me so i decided to look it up. i went to about 4 or 5 websites just to figure it out! My cat always wants my attention and no one elses. (pt 1)
She's a Tortoise-shell (I'm not sure it's really a 'breed' - they just 'happen' and they are 99% females; the colour and markings of her coat is called 'Tortoise-Shell') She's about 10 now (we rescued her so we are not really sure of her age); in this video she was about 5. Thanks :)
@marilyn6manson6 I've been told that any patch of white, no matter how big or small, makes the cat a Calico and not a Tortie. However, both our Tortie's have a patch of white the size of a penny - so I say it doesn't count and they are sill Tortie's :) Usually Calico's are mainly white with splodges of brown, tan, and black or grey etc
I have torty cats ay home and they are very intelligent snd into everything and very loving to the navy guy in comments thank you for your service im a ex navy partner and try to know the hell you guys go threw animals heal pain and after my ex left me on deployment and never came back to me . my animals help me to smile and they help my little girl to take care navy guy x

I have a tortie by accident, I took 4 kittens out of a litter of 7 that we'd hand-fed, after a feral mother left them on my Ma's porch. As I was moving into a new home, we planned on taking a load off my mom & bring 4 kittens home, & keep 2. Yeah fu€%!ng right!! So, 4 full grown house cats later, 1 of them is a chatty little ham I wound up naming Mouth. Mouth also has acquired the nick name of "Pooh" due to her.. Because she... There's a lot of browns in her, no no. Pooh isn't exactly a colorful, fancy kitty like her sister Tula. Short white hair, blue eyed Siamese-Ohhh Toooley. Mouth looks like a skid mark. But Poo has w/out a doubt, stole my heart. I've never been as close to an animal as I am to her. Talk about improving quality of life for the whole family-
This is a lovely cat - these cats are an acquired taste - I have one but I didn't choose it - it was such an ugly kitten I didn't want it but my boyfriend said we had to take it or nobody would. I will never judge a cat on appearances again because she is amazingly affectionate.
We have 2 torties and I wanted to call them Chloe and Zoe but my husband didn't like the names much. So we gave them Hungarian names; Cici is the Hungarian short-form for Cica, which means 'Kitty'. The other rascal's name is Macska, which means 'Cat'. Deeply profound, I know! The short-form for Macska is Macski, at least it is in our house :) Hungarians do that alot with names.
