I think the thing I love most about this series; aside from the amazing action scenes, is how each character is so well-defined and has motivations you can actually understand. It would be SO easy to write vampires as just being evil and that's it...but you come to understand every character and why they do what they do and you can sort of place yourself in their shoes and go "Yeah, I get it." As an aside, I also love how Hector's puppies also perfectly bridge cuteness and creepiness such that it kinda informs you how he can feel such affection for all the creatures he creates...they're horrific monsters, but he loves them all the same.
We love this insight so much - completely agree you gotta love the writing and details in this show! They are all such unique and complex characters with their own nuances.
Fun fact: When they spoke of Leon Belmont (An easter egg) he was the first Belmont to become a vampire hunter and he was friends with Dracula before he became a vampire. In the show they mention Dracula’s name as Vlad Tepes, but his real name was Mathias Cronqvist and he was known as a master strategist and alchemist who served alongside Leon Belmont and other knights in service. Long-story short, Mathias needed something called “The Crimson Stone” that turns anyone who posesses it into a vampire. He obtained it and became Dracula because he forsook god for taking away his wife, and became a sworn enemy to Leon Belmont from that point onward. These details are in reference to the game Castlevania: Lament of Innocence PS2 where you play as Leon Belmont. Nice reaction ladies! 🍻
Also it's worth mentioning, in the Castlevania universe, Dracula is the "Dark Lord": the embodiment of darkness and of evil itself. At all times there must be a Dark Lord, because good cannot exist without evil. There can be another Dark Lord should Dracula be defeated, and it's implied that there must've been other Dark Lords before Dracula, but he's the "current" one. So he's not just an extremely powerful vampire, he is evil incarnate.
1:25 it's Alchemical Necromancy. They basically heal and mutate the body and pull human souls from Hell and drop them in the new monster. And it's not necessarily the same soul that was in it before. And they have to do what their creator tells them to
The single best thing this show does, and a testament to the head writer, is how they world build. They never exposit unnecessarily. They give you enough info for context and for you to know what’s going on. Just like in real life, no one is going to give you a history of the world at the drop of a hat.
You are the sweetest!! thank you for supporting us across all of our communities :) you should check out our discord too if you haven't already! we have a lot of fun there too ;)
Trevor is right. “Belmont” is French for “beautiful mountains” or something to that equivalent. It’s really fascinating because their family has been fighting creatures of the night for nearly a millennia in the games.
As I understand it, Forge Masters have the ability to pull souls of the dammed out of Hell and use them to reanimate corpses. The idea that the bishop who had Lissa burned might be a soul of the dammed and got pulled into Hector or Isaac's services has occurred to me.
Sypha's just a kid in a candy store with that library and repository... and I don't blame her. I'd happily spend the rest of my life studying its contents. 🤣
Love your guys reaction! One of my favorite games ever is Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. In that game you play as Alucard, but when the game starts. You're essentially fully decked out in all of the gear that made Alucard strong but you lose it & then have to regain everything back. Unfortunately, I can't really speak on much about the lore/story. Due to me forgetting what happened in this show 😅🤣 So I'm basically relearning everything while watch y'alls reaction to it Lol
Carmilla actualla has 1 point. Since his wife died, dracula not fed. He want both sides death, suicide. Since nothing to live for. Because fullybfed dracula who is not depressed. Carmilla would not even dare thinking about betray. He would solo them all(he probably still does)
I remember one scene in the future that has music from the games and... it's so damn good. I can't wait to see how you feel about it. You might realize it even without game knowledge :D
Fun fact: Dracula's name comes from a real guy who was just as horrible if not more horrible. He was called "Vlad the Impaler." Because he had a tendency to put people on spikes. *A lot* of people. Around *20,000* people were impaled and put on display in Targoviste. There was a book on the guy in my 4th grade classroom for some reason and I will never forget it lmao.
And "Dracula" is because Vlad III was son of Vlad Dracul, or "Vlad the Dragon" (because he was part of the Order of the Dragon, a nobility title). "Vlad Dracula" means "Vlad, Son of the Dragon", but later on the word "Dracul" came to mean "Devil", which retroactively turned his father's name into "Vlad the Devil" and his into "Vlad, Son of the Devil". And "Tepes" just means "The Impaler". So that makes his name "Vlad, Son of the Devil, the Impaler"
Well, Vlad also did a lot of good for his country. Some of his more evil deeds are also likely propaganda. So yeah, definitely a cruel and dangerous person, but for his time he wasn't expecting horrible.
I think people are too judgmental about manipulative characters in general especially the female ones. I find them the most intriguing out of all other character types. Dracula can release a horde of night creatures on a city and murder innocent children, and no one cares but Carmilla pulling the strings in the background, and everyone goes "Oh my god what a bitch!" Interesting to say the least.
Imagine a brand new Castlevania game that not only uses the “metroid-vania” mechanics system but also has modern action gameplay like Devil May Cry or Jedi: Survivor?!?! I wish to god that Konami would just sell Castlevania to a better studio that actually wants to make a new and great Castlevania game. But no, like a greedy dragon they just hoard their IP’s like treasure that they will fight to the death to keep from everyone.
Konami is basically a zombie company at this point. Devil May Cry pretty much was the game you're looking for. No it didn't have the Castlevania lore, and it didn't go heavy on the Metroid-style exploration (although it kinda felt like it did, because of the way the castle kept leading you to new unlocked areas), but the gothic/horror/action/badass vibes were perfect.
So I subscribed after seeing your reaction to Saving Private Ryan on a compilation video. But upon checking out your page and latest videos I'm like huh? Just damn have you seen Interstellar or listened to The studio version of Comfortably Numb?
Awesome reaction girls castlevania was based on a video game from Nintendo will you plz react to super sentai all henshin and roll call that's my special request 😍😍😍😍😍

Hectors got a big heart!

Yeah, like is "kicking the dog" still a villain trope if it's undead?

Wow! Thanks for this fun fact - didn't know that! and thank you for watching along with us :)
Hey, can you clarify the part about Dracula's wife? Are you referring to Lisa or there was another wife before her?
Fun fact: none of that is canon to the show
1:25 it's Alchemical Necromancy. They basically heal and mutate the body and pull human souls from Hell and drop them in the new monster. And it's not necessarily the same soul that was in it before. And they have to do what their creator tells them to
Oh and the different ways they each go about it, i.e Hector has his coins, Isaac has his really cool looking dagger

1000%
I love when Dracula talks sadly like when he first met Hector (and Dracula's general undertone of grief too)
These 2 are my favorite couple in reactions. Proud Patreon/channel/member. Thanks for reacting to one of my favorite animated series of all time.

I've gotta watch this series again. So good.
JUST SO GOOD!!!
As I understand it, Forge Masters have the ability to pull souls of the dammed out of Hell and use them to reanimate corpses. The idea that the bishop who had Lissa burned might be a soul of the dammed and got pulled into Hector or Isaac's services has occurred to me.

Dracula didn't agree to it he just let the forge master come to that conclusion. He never said anything that pointed to him actually agree to it.
Carmilla is very beautiful, powerful, ambitious, cunning and ruthless.
It’s such a good series. I love the oil painting backgrounds.
Sypha was reading the door to help her open it.
I get choked up when they enter the trove and Trevor finds the morning star.
I can't wait for you two to be all caught up to Nocturne.
Its so good. Epic series.
I’m loving your reactions so far! Though I do kinda wish you included the reaction to “It’s the magical door of death Belmont”
look forward to these reactions keep them up!
TYSM!! :)

The Metroid Prime of Castlevania would be doooope
So I subscribed after seeing your reaction to Saving Private Ryan on a compilation video. But upon checking out your page and latest videos I'm like huh? Just damn have you seen Interstellar or listened to The studio version of Comfortably Numb?
