You are in for a ride for sure. And I don't want to spoil it but actually Alucard can do magic. But there's a difference between a speaker magician casting and what he can do as a half vampire and what other vampires can do. You will see them showing different skills and getting different items as you move on. Kinda like the games too in a way. You know, there's always something you can do with your basic skills but at the same time there are few things that everyone knows is better to save for later on boss fights.

This season is the peak of the show to me, and generally most ppl I've spoken to. The entire show is GREAT start to end, but you may understand what I mean in the end of it all. Don't get me wrong Seasons 3 and 4 are 🤌 (4 moreso)
But the show just never hits the same stride seen in the finale of this season in particular.
Very much Worth seeing entirely tho, I have the whole show on DVD (except season 4 been broke)

I love how even tho Godbrand is mostly played as the comic relief, he's the first person to figure out what Dracula was actually doing.
His only mistake was not IMMEDIATELLY cutting his losses and just going home.

The fact that Trevor's training was cut short that early in his life somehow makes the Belmont family even more badass. Their half-trained last survivor is still enough to be the most competent hunter in the world.

In fact the difference between Trevor and Richter (beside 300 years) is quite immediately apparent if you've played the games.
Richter has a much better understanding of how to use items and better fighting moves.

Leon Belmont is the first belmont chronologically to face Dracula and even knew him before he began going by that moniker in the games. The Belmont most people are familiar with Simon is actually a later Belmont in the Belmont family tree then Trevor

@Aquamarin Yeah. If it was Dracula who made Castlevania(I believe that's the name of the castle), it was mentioned that this world already went basically a lot of apocalipses and Castlevania has the knowledge of all of the previous civilizations. That would also imply that Dracula is REALLY OLD. Most vampires mention centuries, but just in the cicle, there is already millenia of history.

I like how Godbrand isn’t an idiot. Sure, he IS stupid in certain areas, but the guy isn’t stupid. I know it makes sense since he is a vampire, but lots of stories always add the “stupid one”, even in situations where the guy just shouldn’t be that dumb if we consider backstory.
    So yeah, Godbrand is great.

I love how they used the name Carmilla since it's based off a vampire in an Gothic novel by Irish author Sheridan. Apparently, it's one of the early works of vampire fiction, predating the story Dracula by 20 some years. in the story Carmilla basically seduced a young woman into becoming her meal.

Something to note and I wish they brought it up in the show is that Leon Belmont and Mathias Cronqvist (Dracula) grew up together as orphans and brothers. It was only when Mathias betrayed Leon by enacting a plot to take a powerful vampire lords power, which lead to the death of Leon's fiance, that the two where turned into mortal enemies. However though they where mortal enemies and could never forgive each other, both Leon and Dracula still loved each other as brothers to the end I believe.

I know their story and I have respectfully to disagree, simply because it has no place in this story. imo It's way better for world building the way it's done in the series. Something that only hint to a story that might or not exist. But when you look at it, it's legendary. It's not as simple as Leon going to hunt Dracula, but with time that's what's left of their history after so much time.
Now imagine they adapt Leon's time to a new story. Now we would have a reason to see that.

Godbrand really is the most intelligent of the General’s, you wouldn’t think that upon first Impression, but it makes total sense. One who knows war knows the difference between war and self destruction. I really love his character.
On Dracula being “Merciful”, I’d say he is in a way. He was a kind men who lost his only light to mercy, he had mere embers left, which he flamed for a year till they celebrated her death, then they were extinguished. He could have made the camps a thing, as Godbrand mentioned, humans would have been treated as cattle and died as such, which is a worse fate to dying as a human. He could have been so much worse, but he is acting more like a human in his grief. He’s a beast who’s capable of grief and despair, but he cant process, and that’s what makes the difference.

I will never grow tired of that moment because, even though he slumps into his chair after driving Godbrand away, Dracula was still EXTREMELY menacing and he didn't even raise his voice.
