I would build up around the window edges with veneer strips...if you plan on hiring an upholsterer, then the seams would need ribs for it to be attached to. The upholsterer will tell you what he needs...then veneer strips those places for the seams...the beauty of a fiberglass body is the structural integrity...thin strips of wood can be placed where ever is needed. With foam glued between the wood and body, the upholstery attached will do...as they said in the military...KISS...keep it simple soldier...
Thanks man. Yeah I talked to the upholstery guy and he said he was gonna do some kind of rolled edge on the material to staple to. I would like to do it myself but have no experience at all with upholstery lol. I agree the fiberglass makes it easier in many ways but also a pain in other ways. But atleast no rust to worrie about.

What kind of glue did you use to bind the wood around the rear window to the body?
Polybond. Stuff used to bond boats together.
