I grew up in Santa Rosa in the sixties...AG was like cruising 4th street on a Friday night.. Santa Rosa High was a set for "Peggy Sue Got Married" My 56 Chevy had a couple of shots in that movie..so lucky to have lived the movie...!

January 1980 I sat in the car on the lot of Universal Studios. Going into Arizona, we found out that the car was for sale. I was 17,on vacation with family, from Canada. Dad said we could rent a UHaul trailer and go back for it. Sure wish we had of. Have a picture of me in the coupe.

You are probably correct. According to the May 76 issue of Street Rodder magazine Henry Travers found the car already chopped but full fendered. It had the 283, and he added a Man A Fre intake a T 10 4 speed and it had a 55-57 Chevy rear end.
i had a 29 coupe yellow 5 window i lost it to divorce but im the girl! The ex took the car from me an sold it in 1990. Been looking for it ever since I lived in Thompson oh then but was sold to a guy in Ashland. 32 years ago I know you cant help me locate it since your 1000 miles away, but one never knows. The subtle differences on this car needed to be on the movie car. The cam, pie crust slicks and the side pipes being used as side pipes add a dimension to the car that the movie car lacked. ❤❤
Those Alondra filters were just that. Glass filters just waiting to break. I sold them until I had one break on top of my, luckily cold, big block Chevy back in 78-79. Never sold another. I think C-R still makes and sells them. The glass is junk and the aluminum internal part is fragile.

There are some differences to the movie car including the engine, the side headers, the valve covers, the Ford rear end
I had at least a dozen old muscle cars and hot rods when I was younger. I love hot rodding but instead I had 3 kids then got divorced. All is gone

it's a great Car, if it had a 302/5.0 in it, a Ford engine could go just as fast as with a SBC !!! without the center of the head heating issues.
