  • This video shows the making of a Tea Table that is reproduced from an original piece made by the Townsend Goddard family in Newport, Rhode Island in circa 1750. THis tea table is made of solid mahogany. The cabriole legs with slipper feet are shaped by hand, the molding is carved and shaped to match the original profile and the top is hand planed smooth before finish.
    At Doucette and Wolfe Furniture Makers we make fine handmade custom and Antique Reproduction. We use the finest hardwoods available today combined with a meticulous attention to details and overall quality. Together these elements make a future family heirloom that can be used and enjoyed for generations to come. Contact us for more information.

    If this isn't the top knotch of fine craftsmanship furniture making then I don't know what is. I hope more people can see the beauty of the very rare furniture that is being made today, that I see and hope to be able to make it to the level of experience, with my own personal and professional services that doucette and wolf has.

    I just clicked the "Like" button 👍 and I subscribed to your channel too, because I very much like the look of your work, that table is beautiful 😍👍 and it is nice to see such furniture being made with hand tools rather than a lot of people who make furniture on youtube who seem to be more determined to show off with their fancy Dewalt and Mulwakee tools like that is more important than the products they are trying to make, it's like they are trying to show off, "Look at me - me" Sure I like Dewalt and Mulwakee tools too but why so many people think that they have to do a close up of the name on their tools in their workshops 🤔🙄🙄

    You seem to know what you're doing. I love the way you work. so I was wondering, for what resin are you shaving into the opposite way that the natural flames of the wood run towards? doesn't that make the quality of the finish less because wood tend to split faster that way?

    Are you concerned at all about the expansion and contraction of the top blowing out your miters on that molding?

    • @Erowens98
      @Erowens98 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thisgoestoeleven i find that most woodworkers tend to pay minimal attention to details like that because the miters blowing out adds character to the tablw, however if the grain is properly aligned and the miters are well jointed and glued that won't be an issue for some time
