  • Piecrust and Dished Top Tea Table Building Process Part 1 by Doucette and Wolfe Furniture Makers. This video documents the turning of the post, the tapered sliding dovetail joinery, the shaping of the legs, carving of the ball and claw feet and carving of the Shell on the knee of the Piecrust Tea Table. Both Tables are made of solid mahogany with solid, one piece crotch mahogany tops. The finish on these tables is Royal Lac from www.shellacfini.... This is a highly durable modified shellac finish. The Piecrust table has a natural colored finish followed by super blonde royal lac. The dished top table has an aniline dye followed by super blonde royal lac.

    i was just telling another woodworker to sub your channel if he wants to see amazing hand carved pieces of furniture built from scratch.and needless to say beautifully designed and crafted..love the claws. i kept picturing shiny ebony claws lol just watched it a 2nd time and well worth the 8-10 month wait .cant wait to see the finished pieces.true inspiration

    You make the best claw feet furniture i believe ive ever held my eyes on. An i have an eye for beautiful things.     Probably watched each of this series 3 times. One question, why 7 legs? Myself , I would do it incase one fubared and if all made it through, use for sample. Simply amazing work.

It seems to me that you use tools that are readily available in the USA, with the exception of your spoke shave... made in Australia I think. in the video I noticed that it was dark outside, in the video, do you work during the day or do you work into the night or do you burn the Midnight Oil
