She trains with Olga and Alex out of Boston. They do work on skating skills with their skaters - just look at their social media posts....showing edge classes, spins, and foot work. She is 15 and her skating skills are appropriate and developing for her age/experience level. She has decent speed. She does have a performance quality versus skating around with a blank face. People need to relax...they are putting effort into the other parts of her skating, but those skills take time to develop. This was her first big international event in a few yrs.

Sophie is the future of American womens' figure skating IF she can keep her head screwed on straight. At the last Senior Ladies' Worlds, only two skaters attempted a triple axel, and certainly not in combination. Sophie moves beautifully, a combination of strength, bold gestures and grace. WOW ! If she can keep her 3A (a real feat while the body is growing) and add in a 4S, she will be on the world's podium very soon. You go, Sophie !! 😅❤

She's for sure an amazing talent. However, during the very beginning of her program, there were TOO MANY arm movements and unfinished; some other sections in the program as well. Doesn't skate as one with the music yet. All in all, an enormous talent.
Well, to be fair the senior circuit hasn’t really debuted yet aside from a few minor events, but yeah from what we’ve seen, juniors are far more exciting than seniors. The next event in Wuxi is gonna decide who is gonna go to the GPF and the competition is though ! But in seniors the technical content is regressing season after season, and because of the age change we haven’t seen any good newcomer since ages. If I had to spend my money to watch only one event I’d watch the juniors without any hesitation

This was much more similar to the cut used by Trusova and Usacheva in 20-21, as the 1st and 3rd sections are the same in both the Russian's programs and Sophie's
She is great but this whole competition has been under ridiculous judging.. she and his both deserved more points.. Shin’s skate may have not been all clean but what she got right is so much high level than most seniors today .. ughhhh so terrible and that kind of judging should not be allowed 😢🤨
