Next year will be important for her when she moves on to Senior skating. She has a good chance to go to the 2026 Olympics. She probably now lives in Canada, moving to another country and changing coaches is a lot of stress for a teenager. Let's give her time. Orser is a good coach, probably Korea sent her to him with an eye on the Olympics.
Chin up, Jia. We all know what an amazing skater you are ❤ I have the utmost confidence that she will come back strong. I don't think she should be counted out.
As someone who is super fond of Jia Shin's skating I am glad Jia skated better here in Ljublanski than in Gdansk. but I feel a lot of sympathy for the difficulties she has faced like on the 3 lutz/ 3 toe back end and 3 flip here. I really hope Jia will seriously consider returning to the Korean coaches and choreographic instruction she received from Yuna Kim last season when she gave such marvelous performances especially in the Youth Olympics and Junior Worlds because this is a critical point in her career and even more this season, and I think Brian Orser's coaching has been detrimental in terms of her jumping technique, and confidence in her skating performances. For example while I think Jia was underscored in PCS in this competition, if one compares Jia's scores to Junior Worlds which was strictly scored, Jia is receiving lower GOE on all her jumps, unclear edge calls on the 3 flip which she didn't receive before and a lot lower PCS, so this is why I hope she goes back to her South Korean coaching like she had last season. In addition as others have mentioned, I think going back to her Not About Angels LP may also trigger fond memories and help her skate better in the LP. I think Jia performed her SP really well in Ljublanski and was underscored for it in PCS.
There’s always an adjustment period when doing a choaching change. She will be in an impeccable form next year when she has gotten comfortable with Brian and the rest of the tcc team. They do know how to make champions after all!
better than last jgp, but it wasn't enough for gold. questioning why tcc are changing her lutz entry. it was fine before when she did it in the corner. now she's getting way too close to the boards. idk... i don't think you have to fix what's not broken.
Yes she was. She actually skated fine in the korean test skates and in practices. Maybe it's just nerves and an adjustment period. But I agree that adjusting her technique isn't necessarily a good idea.@@KumaKumaKyun
this will be a hash season for Jia. She is a marvellous skater and I'm sure that she will come back stronger ( poor Jia ,it seems like she is not so confident of herself 🥺
I hope Jia goes back to her previous long program, this one really don't have emotions, it's not her style, the music is beautiful but not at her level, the sp it's not her style neither but at least is way better choreograped, anyway happy she had a better competition here leaving with a silver medal, sad we won't see her at gpf 😢
She should go back to Not About Angels FS. Also, idk if they're adjusting her technique for her lutz.. but they should let her do what's most comfortable for her. Consistency matters.
@@youthotuate her technique issues weren't that bad to begin with. But now they're calling her flip edges and she's falling on jumps. Something is going on with her training and needs to be changed.
I think her jumps are getting bigger in transition for more rotational jumps idk. Her movements are definitely bigger than the previous year which she so needed.
Why did Jia's parents let her move to Brian Orser? They should think more. He is horrible for majority of women and outside of Kim (who never needed him) has zero female champions. The only chance to guarantee a JP Final spot for Jia Shin is for both Yuseong and Yihan to bomb getting less than 4th place since they both have 1st place in their other comp. We have so far Mao, and Karuko who are guaranteed the first 2 spots right now while Yihan (1st), Yuseong (1st), Ami (2nd), and Yo (2nd), are all gold/silver medalists so far ahead of Jia and Stefania who was silver and bronze as well is ahead of Jia. She needs a miracle and for someone to bomb next week in order to make the final. Brian was the worst choice.
As someone who is super fond of Jia Shin's skating, I agree about the criticism of Orser, since the switch seems to have been really detrimental to Jia's confidence in performing and jump technique. I hope Jia returns quickly to her previous coaching and training arrangement in South Korea last season when she gave such marvelous performances with Yuna Kim also giving her inspiration by providing choreographic instruction. If Jia is unable to make the Junior Grand Prix Final, this may actually give her time to make a transition back to the stability she had last season with South Korean coaches.
@@savanahbabyyyy because she can get the tcc name and reputation that way. She's debuting as a senior during the Olympic year and she will have a disadvantage as other top senior skaters have world medals or have been competing longer than her.
@@triplea_qgb1963 Then why not pull a tammy gambill? Tammy is listed as Glenn's coach for reputation bonus but barely coaches. Why not have Orser's name on it, but keep her training with the Koreans?
@@savanahbabyyyy Tammy isn't great for jumps... I'd rather her stay at tcc. Jia could use orser as a co coach but I get the whole appeal of training at tcc. Let's just wait for junior worlds.
What are people actually talking about? This program is just fabulous but the new entry to lutz jumps are not able to cover the scale of her jumps. And due to the failed jumps, she seems to lose her confidence... The only one thing she needs is new jump entry... Head up Jia!! You are a wonderful skater❤
This whole competition has been under ridiculous judging..🤦🏻♀️ Her short deserved over 70 for sure..Shin’s Free skate may have not been all clean but what she got right is so much high level than most seniors today .. ughhhh so terrible and that kind of judging should not be allowed 😢🤨 Chin up Jia❤
They want to push USA's Sophia. If Sophia performed like Jia I would be okay, but she is not good. Great 3A, with everything else poor. Jia is not like that. Orser ruined her high level that she set for herself.
The JGP series this year is a knock off on Jia. She barely show any tech. improvement from last 3 seasons, Imagine when russians are back? PCS coverage are not enough, she have to add ultra C's. Her triples are massive, it shoudn't be that hard. Also, Orser did not had any sucess since Yuzuru's oly gold in 2018, idk if it is the right choice for Jia' parents to invest big money on his coaching.

It's good that shes trying new things, that's the only way she can grow as a skater.
The music is too one note which makes it difficult to skate to. Lori choreographed that program so, I’m surprised it’s a miss for me.
