Certiflat Pro Top Welding Table, Modified to Fold

I've had a Strong Hand Nomad folding table for years and I often use that for small projects with stick or flux core. I do this because I prefer to do that welding in the middle of the garage or even out in the driveway, rather than against the wall, where my main table usually is. I don't like showering spatter and sparks all over my shelves and the stuff on them, and I prefer the better ventilation of being nearer the door, or even outside. And it's easier to pull out the small table than it is to move things and roll the main table out.
Rolling out the main table should be easier with the new table, but I still thought it would be nice to have a "beater" table for dirty, spattery welding. So I decided to modify my old, Certiflat Pro Top table to make it fold. That way it could take up the role the Nomad has served. This is just a short video, showing what I did. For anyone wondering, this is the Certiflat Pro Top, 24x48" with the leg kit. It is from Weldtables dot com, formerly Tab and Slot.

@@ezelk1337 Thanks. I used 7014 for a bit, just for the easy tacking. Eventually I switched to 6013. No particular reason, just trying different things. I used a Miller Maxstar.

I have to say, this is very nice. When I make folding supports I usually go to McMaster-Carr and buy spring loaded latches (stainless because, well stainless) they lock up really tightly but release easily. They weld easily. I use 309L for most welding unless it’s structural and overhead. So it works with stainless and mild steels. It costs a bit more but saves me the bother of constantly changing rolls of wire. I don’t like to stick indoors, even in the garage.

Thanks. I actually got the hinges and casters from McMaster-Carr. I considered different options for hinges and latches, but I just went with simple and cheap. It's not perfect, but I've used it a couple times and it works for me.
I do like to be out in the driveway for stick welding, but I often just leave the garage door open and run a fan. I have a low-profile respirator I wear under my helmet.

Hi, can you share with me the brand of the Combination Square and Magnet used at 0:55?

The square is "LaSquare." I got it from Weldmonger years ago. They are hard to find now and super expensive. The magnet is a Magswitch Magsquare.
