I used the top turret at first, but then when I was in a KV-2 I one-shotted a Jumbo with the top turret by hitting under the mantlet, so I switched to the stock turret. I also am experimenting with the 105mm since it seems to do better at tier 8.
EmperorNefarious1 Pairs of Jumbos work better then solo ones especially if you're using the derp. If you do some ridge line shooting you both can keep up a respectable rate of fire by alternating shots between the tanks while the other pulls back for a reload
Wow! Talk about a blast from the past. I believe that this was the first-ever QB video - and, in fact, WoT video - that I had ever watched. I don't play PC, as I play Console (I am a WoT Console veteran) and I started playing WoT on the 360 in January of 2015. I cannot remember if I stumbled upon this video by chance or if I was actually looking for help with my Sherman Jumbo (as I think it was my first ever tier 6). Nonetheless, it was by chance that I stumbled upon this video again. 5 years later, with just over 25k games under my belt and a 57% WR and 2,800 WN8, I can definitely say I am happy to have been following QB over last 5 years, along with other awesome WoT TH-camrs like Jingles, MarkGFL (who is now defunct), and others. Without these videos, the skills I have gained, and the tactics I have learned, I would not be the player I am today. Cheers!
So, I didn't know about the AT-2's gun mantlet until this video. Just now I played a game in my Matilda BP where I was able to abuse this knowledge and simply rip apart an AT-2 facing me at -50m with my 6pdr gun powered by a crew with Vents and Brothers in Arms. This one little tidbit of information literally turned what I once considered a serious threat of a tank into an easy target... thanks QB!
I have a Jumbo, it is one of my favorite tanks in the game so far. The frontal armor in tier 6 and even tier 7 games is great. Therefore, I prefer to play the tank with the stock turret. In a tier 6 game, having the stock turret is phenomenal. The enemy bounces off just about everything. As for the gun, I go with the 105. It's great for taking out lower tiered opponents and can damage higher tiered opponents due to the high explosive ammunition. However, I do use the 76 on my easy 8 and that is a completely viable option too. I prefer, though, to have a gun that can still do damage to a tank when attacking a strong point in its armor and also bounce his shots as well. This works especially well in El Haluf defensive battles.
My favorite seal clubber was the m5 Stuart back when it had its howitzer. Zipping around the map at 60km/h and one shotting almost every other tank in its tier spread was hilarious fun, ended with a 70% win rate in that thing with over a hundred games played haha. One of the most overlooked seal clubbing tanks back in those days sadly. It remains my favorite tank of all time haha.
***** It is to me when no one I'm facing can pen me and I'm on a rampage every couple of games. I see what you're saying though. When I first got the jumbo though it was different and I didn't know how to use it.
"A brake-neck pace" wow in italy there is exactly the same metaphorical image! Quite incredible how different languages share some way of expression! (Sorry for the OT great play and great commentary by the way ;))
The Jumbo was my favorite tank until I unlocked the E8. There were many times where I found myself alone on a flank facing three or more enemy tanks. I paid dearly in HP and was almost always in the red by the end of it, but it was the Mighty Jumbo that prevailed. I preferred the stock turret with the 76mm. A gun rammer, vents and Brothers in Arms helped to mitigate the lower rate of fire. Mobility is my preferred tank characteristic and the Jumbo suffered in this department. The E8 and T34-85 are my preferred T-VI mediums, yet there are days where I look back to a particular piece of the battlefield where I stood alone and beat back the hoards in my trusty E2. Good video QB.
2:05 Why did Quad-Guy aim at the Weakness at the Center of the AT2 and not the much easier to hit cuppola on the top? 14:30 The best hiding point from an blind firing artillery is the crater of his first shot,a blind firing artillery never shoots the same place twice^^ Still I wish, Quickybaby would do more educational videos and less "look at this awesome replay"-Videos,like "What do you do as bottom Tier Heavy for example Churchill I in T7 Game..on charkow,of course?" "How can I get rid of a perfectly hidden TD who doesn't get spotted, doesn't matter how many shots he already fired?"
Aroused Squirrel 1. You can sidescrape like God in a churchill I and it would bring nothing because nearly everybody can pen that 88mm-turret 2. APCR? I use some helpful noob-mods but I'm not low enough to use gold-.- 3. Yeah wonderful..sitting it out or what? Okay, some german patience, here take your tea and breakfast, how's your dear mother going?
Hey QuickyBaby,I'm learning from your replays to not be a noob, like I did when I was younger.I used to use the box tank and I was out in the open, now I actually try and hide now.
Rule 1 of the Jumbo keep the stock turret and use the 76mm M1A1 it is practically the same as the M1A2 and the stock turret has god like armour. Also if you check armour inspector the Jumbo has more like 152mm frontal armour because it is angled :P
@Lotroe: it is inferior by quite a bit, there is a big difference when playing the two. He's right that you should keep the stock because it is more than worth it.
Will Coleman The big problem with that strategy is that the M1A1 gun is woefully inaccurate (0.43) for what is a medium distance support gun. Couple that with it's poor penetration and you'll be failing to penetrate most of the things you're shooting at, especially in tier 7 and 8 games. If you're gonna use the stock turret, you're better just derping the 105 at close range.
FireShorts I've never had a problem with the M1A1 the penetration and damage are the same as the M1A2 as well, I did use the 105 for a while but when you ran in to a tough situation you was a bit screwed with the reload time.
Hey quicky, just to let you know, about sometime ago the NA server had something like Canada Day special. During the special, they gave away Canadian Flag Emblem for completing missions. Thus I don't think every tank wearing the emblem is Canadian, not that its that detrimental of course.
I hope you all enjoy Quad owning it up in the M4A3E2, certainly a tank not to be underestimated! I'm Livestreaming RIGHT NOW with Ikzor! www.twitch.tv/quickybaby
QuickyBabyTV by the way, I believe they ruined the Sand River map for the attacking team, it's almost impossible to win by attacking if both teams are similarly good (or bad), just saying since you mentioned it in your stream
QuickyBabyTV I have sold the E2, but not after completing 219 battles in the beast: My first T6 tank. Record score was 1,725 dmg, 5 kills, and over 2850 dmg blocked with this machine. My Setup, QB: Stock Turret with M1A1 Gun, and everything else fully upgraded. Equipment Had to be Gun Rammer/Your Choice/Your Choice. I loved the thing, the # of battles shows. I would fully recommend the setup, and recommend to get the T29, then still keep E2, Then finally get the T20 and sell it. Wonderful T6 Tank Otherwise
ManWithCrowbar yeah, like there is some sort of rule that you can't keep midtier tanks and play them, and if you do and you perform well, you are still a noob or a reroll or a sealclubber
2:00 if you are in a light tank or another tank lower to the ground, you can shoot the drive wheel while missing the sideskirt armor on purpose and only have to go through 50mm of armor. Any tier 4 tank can pen an AT 2
Hey Quickybaby, I have a great E75 game from 9.8 and I couldn't upload it to your website. It said that it wasn't accepting replays from Update 9.8 yet. When is the website going to be updated? This was my greatest game ever, with 9k damage done and blocked. Keep up the good work and thanks for yout hard work!
had my best game in this tank. 9 kills, ace mastery, Pascucci's medal, Kolabanov's medal , Radley-Walter's medal,Top gun,high-calibar,steel wall and cool-headed
I used the stock turret with derpgun for the majority of the time! And boy was it fun when matchmaker was in my favor. It was hilarious! The DERP is strong in this tank.
You know what's crazy about this tank though? Since the front is angle, that give you 120 to 150 mm of effective armor, so you can bounce even some tier 8 tanks. I will sometimes have trouble penning the front depending on the angle in my T-34-3.
what a game! absolutly awesome :) the jumbo is a very strong tank indeed, as long as it meets tier 7 to lower tier tanks. even the APCR ammo isn' t competetive when you meet tier 8! i just grinded through the jumbo to get the t29... i definetly should have kept the tank because i just got the first mark of exellence after ~60 games. but i sold it because i hate it to not really have the chance of having a great impact to the game... that's what i like the konisch gun from the vk3601h whose apcr can go through any tank it meets easily:)
djuraster Especially when you see that he shoots at the AT2, instantly loading the gold ammo and shooting in the middle of the tank instead of aiming at the cuppola.
roflcopterkklol It's okay, it has the same frustrations that the PC version has but like all consoles VS PC the console version isn't as nice to look at but it's definitely playable .
QuickyBaby, I like your work but would love to see more games you play your self. I am following your channel to enjoy your playing skills. I wish u all the best.
Just to answer your question, QB. I like the Sherman Jumbo the most of all Shermans I have driven so far (still missing the Firefly). The Shermans are very average tanks in my opinion, without any big strengths or weaknesses and I like to exploit strengths and work around weaknesses in tanks - I like extreme tanks, not balanced tanks. The Jumbo is slow and has a weaker gun, but it has very good armor for a medium and I like heavy mediums. I use the stock turret and the stock gun and I do very well with it. However, the Jumbo then is a slave to its matchmaking. A medium with a good gun and weak armor can still do something in a high-tier-game. The jumbos gun in tier 8-match is almost useless and its armor isnt special anymore, so it suffers a lot and needs to be played very cautiously. Still, I like it the best of all Shermans.
the hull armor is weaker near the top of the upper plate, its only 76mm there. the weld seam is tehcut off for the 110mm on the bottom of the front plate
I remember my sherman jumbo. I would go into the front line and just sit there. Basically every tier 5 would bounce. Alot of the tier 6s and even some tier 7s. It is a great tank and I highly recommend it. Its pretty crappy at stock though.
Those are some awesome stats even though it's a reroll. It does actually take some skill to get that 2.7k WN8 as you seriously get focused fire from the enemy with XVM.
Fantastic game in one of my favorite tanks. I was surprised at how relatively little damage he bounced in the course of taking all of those enemies on; I think my record was 2.6 K. But of course I'm a pretty average player so I've never even approached a damage/killing streak like that! I think the enemy team would need to be unconscious for me to do that well... and even that might not guarantee it...
I thinkt the Jumbo is a monster of a tank! got my first top gun and also delanglades medal in it. But I like to use the stock turret with a good trained crew and gun rammer etc.
You would think he knew about the stock turret being hell lot stronger then the top one, 152mm al the way around and then using the 105 howitzer or the first 76mm
I prefer the stock turret and the 76 mm. the view range isn't great but it will bounce so much more often when i don't get to tier , which happen a lot.
The big difference between stock turret and new turret is spot range - stock turret has 330 which is bad, and new turret has 370 (which is really good - most of the VI meds have 360).
The Jumbo has some of the most ridiculous frontal armour in the game that seems out of all proportion to its thickness and angling. I once played a game in a Nashorn (or a death toaster? Not sure which but it's kind of irrelevant) where a Jumbo was approaching and it was a one shot kill so I loaded HEAT because I've had trouble with Jumbos previously. Square on shot to the upper glacis and I bounced with like two times the penetration of the armour. Utterly ridiculous.
had a game start out where an artillery hit one of our people in the start. he was foolish enough to sit in the same spot at the spawn just long enough to blow up from artillery.
In strong holds my clan uses 3 M4A3E2 jumbos and 4 KV-85s/T-150s. Which is quite affective. Me and the other E2s in strong holds like to set up defensive positions side by side together and make what we'll call "Wall of e2"
Quickybaby where can i get your XVM version? for 0.9.8.1 I have the one for 0.9.8, but doen't work now (obvoius)... where can i have the new QB version? (love your image for 6th sence)
I played few of the T6 MTs , and 1 of my favorite is jumbo M4 use the top turret, becaus you may need that extra gun performance sometime . Also it can roll as a HT in some battle ,Great tank ! good for beginers and senior players. :D
i love the stockturret on my jumbo, when i go hulldown in a tier 6 match im just as strong as a t29 in a tier 7 match. i dont mind the 25% less firerate, as i can make up all the dmg and xp by blocking dmg.
Yea well QB kind of exaggerated the actual effectiveness of the armor. You could go through the front of it with a 3001 D even if you were both on flat ground.
10:20 And if Wargaming historically modelled the stock turret. (which is the turret it had in reality) Then the mantlet would be 177mm thick. :D Good luck getting through that. As for the Jumbo in the video, I think he was using the stock turret? I say so because of the gun mantlet design, the top turret is basically from later variant M4 Shermans with 76mm guns in the war, that had a curved/flatter mantlet design compared ot the Jumbo with it's thicker, blocky design. Unless, it's just Wargaming using its magic to use that blocky mantlet, but thinner, for the top turret with certain gun setups before the model update?
I do mostly tier 6 battles due to standard account and it's a matter of preference in do you want better rof and view rage or do you want good turret armour. I'd take the view range and rof because I can't seem to get this tank's profile hull down that well except for a proper positioning on a ridge/hill line. Also the turret armour doesn't do jack shit in a tier 7 or 8 battle anyways, so I'd rather be a better support gun in those cases.
Hey QB! How are do u like the new gamemode so far? Im very enjoying It :) and what Is your favorite tank In domination? Mine Is the obj.140 :D Im having very nice games In It and I always wanted to play It becouse Its my favorite tank! Keep up the great work and thanx for making world of tanks awesome and I hope you are having fun at the tank fest :). Btw nice picture In the MS-1
I used the top turret at first, but then when I was in a KV-2 I one-shotted a Jumbo with the top turret by hitting under the mantlet, so I switched to the stock turret. I also am experimenting with the 105mm since it seems to do better at tier 8.
EmperorNefarious1 I can't decide wich gun to use, the derp always does damage but is not consistent and the HEAT is really expensive :/
EmperorNefarious1 i also use the derp gun as it fairs better in higher tier matches... although one on one with a fast tank can be a nightmare...
EmperorNefarious1 Pairs of Jumbos work better then solo ones especially if you're using the derp. If you do some ridge line shooting you both can keep up a respectable rate of fire by alternating shots between the tanks while the other pulls back for a reload

Like you need it to penetrate either the cupola or the gun mantlet...
The Jumbo - my favorite seal clubbing tank.

***** nice but I just hate low tier games
***** it's not really seal clubbing if it's not low tier is it? :P
***** It is to me when no one I'm facing can pen me and I'm on a rampage every couple of games. I see what you're saying though.
When I first got the jumbo though it was different and I didn't know how to use it.
***** Fair enough lol, I hate fighting Jumbos. I've bounced HEAT shells with a Nashorn off the front plate of those damn things haha.
Awesome game! I absolutely LOVED my jumbo when I was grinding up that line, a real joy to play.
"A brake-neck pace" wow in italy there is exactly the same metaphorical image! Quite incredible how different languages share some way of expression! (Sorry for the OT great play and great commentary by the way ;))
lol, that suspense during the count down. I thought he was going to get hit

Hey QuickyBaby,I'm learning from your replays to not be a noob, like I did when I was younger.I used to use the box tank and I was out in the open, now I actually try and hide now.
I was just thinking of watching a video about the E2, when I pulled up TH-cam and searched 'World of Tanks', and this popped up.
Old video, but to this day, this is definitely the best Sherman jumbo game I’ve ever seen lol
Almost a normal game in the E2. Finally happy that Quicky put a vid on the E2 up
I always use the derp gun on this tank, that armor with the derp gun is just beautiful.
He's right that you should keep the stock because it is more than worth it.
lotroeldar I know that but I prefer the 152mm all round armour and lots of other people would agree.
Malachai117 It's only a big difference if you keep showing the side of your turret to people. The frontal armor of both turrets is fairly close.
Will Coleman The big problem with that strategy is that the M1A1 gun is woefully inaccurate (0.43) for what is a medium distance support gun. Nice reroll account... A good player punishing some noobs in his tier 6, 3 stars tank...
Krzysztof Dudek so a person can't play midtier tanks if he enjoys them?
Krzysztof Dudek Morals of the story, no matter if you play really well or just terrible. WoT community will still find ways to flame you
agbrenv No, you shouldn't be able to play any tank if it is going to ruin everyone else's fun.
ManWithCrowbar yeah, like there is some sort of rule that you can't keep midtier tanks and play them, and if you do and you perform well, you are still a noob or a reroll or a sealclubber
that tea drinking top hat tipping British man I really hope you are trolling
I love the stock turret even though the 76mm gun that fits it is a little slower firing, it's still very fast firing.
This tank is one of my kept credit earners (although I play xbox360) I love this tank, along side the KV2 and the TOG!!

Pretty sure the Jumbos armour in HD has been nerfed, second turret is like 63mm and only 89 on the mantlet.
and then you get into a game with 4 O ls and theyre all using derp guns.
The derp gun is the best
Everytime i played my Jumbo everybody just loaded apcr and buttered the tank...weird that was not the case in this round.
a unicum in a tomato game....move along nothing to see here
djuraster .I was thinking along the same line. He still did well though.
djuraster
Especially when you see that he shoots at the AT2, instantly loading the gold ammo and shooting in the middle of the tank instead of aiming at the cuppola.
Veolfen I own a M4A3E8,and i managed to kill an AT2 by shooting AP at the mantlet, the mantlet is a weak point. :D
Never said it wasn't Stefan, but the cuppola is even better as a weakspot :p
True :D
Us guys on the WoT X360 edition are still stuck with this map at tier 8,9 and 10.
Adam Lawrence when is it comin on the one dood im hype
XT Joker I think sometime this year or maybe early 2016 but I'm not sure since Wargaming haven't given out a release date yet.

The top turret is a little deceptive, it has a beefy gun mantlet. so you haft to avoid it if you want shells to go in.
just a bush... nice reference to RA2's mirage tank, if that's what it is :P
Those are some awesome stats even though it's a reroll. It does actually take some skill to get that 2.7k WN8 as you seriously get focused fire from the enemy with XVM.
8:44 we all know what you have on the mind QB! ;)
Wow man the nostalgia
I personally play with the stock turret and 105 because the 105 is so much better to have when facing off against tanks with some front armor.
Quicky, you also forgot that the "heavy" turret has nearly 190mm of armor on its mantlet... lol.
I prefer the stock turret and the 76 mm.
the view range isn't great but it will bounce so much more often when i don't get to tier , which happen a lot.
Everytime my sides got exposed and I got hit from a howitzer, I got engine fires like 90% at a time. Is it just me?
Words is not enough for this. Pretty nice play by latin tanker.
Great vehicle, first turret with the 76 mil to bait shots
The big difference between stock turret and new turret is spot range - stock turret has 330 which is bad, and new turret has 370 (which is really good - most of the VI meds have 360).

Imagine him doing this against tier 7s and 8s.
Fury all of again missing him constantly from blank range? This should be made into a film
And, the winner is ... QuickyBaby - - for such a great narrative!
I have to admit this looks like he was re-rolling.
had a game start out where an artillery hit one of our people in the start. he was foolish enough to sit in the same spot at the spawn just long enough to blow up from artillery.
Stock turret, howitzer and binos/optics: Be a indestructible watchtower!
what was his set up, besides the obvious m1a2 and second turret, what upgrades he had?, ramming dive?, stabilizer?, ventilation?
In strong holds my clan uses 3 M4A3E2 jumbos and 4 KV-85s/T-150s. Which is quite affective. Me and the other E2s in strong holds like to set up defensive positions side by side together and make what we'll call "Wall of e2"
Quickybaby where can i get your XVM version? for 0.9.8.1
I have the one for 0.9.8, but doen't work now (obvoius)...
where can i have the new QB version?
(love your image for 6th sence)
I played few of the T6 MTs , and 1 of my favorite is jumbo M4
use the top turret, becaus you may need that extra gun performance sometime .
Also it can roll as a HT in some battle ,Great tank ! good for beginers and senior players. :D
Aroused Squirrel I like you ;) Cromwell is the king
50 traverse speed. That is animalistic. I was going to buy it. But stuck with my regular Crommie. 3 skill crew 3rd mark :D Beast of a tank
In the words a veteran "violet stet padder"
i love the stockturret on my jumbo, when i go hulldown in a tier 6 match im just as strong as a t29 in a tier 7 match. i dont mind the 25% less firerate, as i can make up all the dmg and xp by blocking dmg.
Title means I came, I saw, I conquered
I got a delangladen medal with the amx 38 a couple months ago
The upgraded turrents gun mantle still has 152 mm of armor.
christian mirmo not anymore... 9.8 nerfed it to 63 with nothing behind.... like fury
Sherman jumbo can easily be penned from hull with 100 mm on kv-85 and 90 mm on arl 44 etc.
I went through the front hull of a jumbo while driving my 3001 D. I had the high ground so it nullified his hull armor's angling.
Yea well QB kind of exaggerated the actual effectiveness of the armor. You could go through the front of it with a 3001 D even if you were both on flat ground.
InfernalDalek Well I've failed to pen the flat front of a Jumbo from nearly point blank with the 212 pen 90 mm on the ARL 44.
Steven Chabot That's normal. That French high prenetration 90mm gun is a giant troll. I bounced on the flank of a sau-40 with it once.
Top turret has wayyy more than 63mm of armour it's spaced so its worth about the same as the stock turret, but u can use the 76mm
The trailer for Fury 2 looks good
Silly quickybaby. Latin Cs and Gs are solid.

And if Wargaming historically modelled the stock turret.
It has - look at tanks gg - 152mm turret and 177mm mantlet :)
Anyone else start screaming at the screen when he started shooting the AT-2 in the gun?
8:47 Come on QB stop being so dirty xDDDDD

When avoiding artillery, try to go and stand in their shot craters, as they probably wont shoot the same spot twice.
Hi QB. Why isn't your replaywebside working with 9.8 replays?
I'm pretty sure it meant "Fail Platoon" or as close to that as possible.
Qb, you should post more t-21 and t-69 gameplay.
btw the Canadian flag on the side of the tank was a reward emblem a few months back.
my first pool's medal was in this tank bless :')
omg i miss this map :(
