Hello. I'm a new friend here from Singapore (followed your Insta too). I salute your enthusiasm to keep pedalling. Hope the next trip goes well. Take care and stay safe. Malaysia Boleh!!!
Welcome to a new world!, Great views and scenery! You MUST be careful with cooking near brush/forest/jungle! Maybe a propane fueled stove might be a better, safer option. Get a tool pod that has all the necessary alan keys plus extras (chain breaker) Not sure who assembled your bike but make sure to occasionally check the bolts for the attachments on your bike racks. They do loosen especially on rough terrain, bumps and long miles. Enjoy and be safe!
Yeah, that was why I was cooking on a metal floor ;) I have cooked on a propane stove before but wanting to try out this new alcohol stove, as it’s lighter (but takes more time to boil water that’s for sure). I bought my bike secondhand so I assembled it myself after it was delivered. :)
Well done! When using Komoot just persevere. Sometimes its routing can be a bit suspect. I often use Google Maps to verify. But if you’ve already committed heavily then I can understand the feeling 😅. And I wouldn’t have chosen your route into Thailand but you look like half my age so go for it. I’ve subscribed to follow you all the way to Thailand.
Yeah I should have put the Komoot setting as road bike and not touring. Learnt it the hard way haha! If I've known any better I would not have chosen that route too because my original plan was just to have a santai-santai ride...but joke's on me for not doing enough homework when planning ahaha! But I'm still glad I went with it and completed it...sometimes not knowing too much is better ;)

The honest answer is no. Hahaha. But I also hike and used to do crossfit before, so that might help with stamina, even though I'm a lazy potato now lol.
Just my opinion. Try riding with friends before being ambitious and going solo. You will learn a lot more experience from others. Also, if possible, it’s better to ride with at least one other cyclist buddy. Though we ride on the road, most of us never ride alone.
There are a lot of solo bike tourer out there in case you never notice. I don't have cyclist friends who are free enough to go on a tour with me, so am I supposed to wait until god knows when for anyone who is free to ride with me? Life and lesson (whether good or bad) itself can be the teacher. Plus, I’ve already done my research and also asked for cyclist friends’ advice before this tour. :)
Expected that Karo, not easy to plan a long trip like that indeed. I'm also a newbie, well, an old newbie, no experience in camping alone...but certainly got motivated after watching your video. I don't do TH-cam but FB(Donald Ling) only. Hope to see you there.
Since when did I say I want to attract any bikepacking audience? And since when did I ask for your opinion? When it comes to bikepacking or bike touring, no one group is better than the other. It's a matter of personal preference. Please don't waste your energy on gatekeeping. Have a good day. :)

Hi Karo, I'm Don, you wanna join me on a 2 months ride to Batam and back ? I'm leaving in 2 weeks time.
Hi Don, I won’t be able to join you but thanks for the invite!

@@donaldling1965 I wish you all the best for your trip! There is no such thing as “too old” to do something new. Your trip will be amazing i’m sure :)
to pronounce PERAK correctly is sound like = PAY ROCK
I always say it as "pear ruck".

You'll not attract a bikepacking audience with too much stuff. It's called bike touring hoarders.
