Best videos on YT! 100 minutes! Other crappy channels do 30 minutes, that's it. I think digging out your ditch, drain it into the pond, and putting a culvert pipe with an access road is a good idea.
I always put the tractor bucket over me with the engine running when dealing with dead trees... I trust the tractor's hydraulics that I maintain consistently more than I trust the top of a dead tree. If one didn't trust their tractor, they could put a brace over the cylinder pistons to prevent them from collapsing.
Old Blue sure is worth its weight in gold Andris, she’s a great little work horse. You accumulated some good workable timber mate, well done, another great vlog
The hanging trees we call WIDOW MAKERS. For those of you who never had the opportunity to cut trees down in the woods...its hard to predict how and where hanging trees will fall. If you notice Ant established numerous escape routes before he started cutting. 💖 from Minnesota 🇺🇸 😊
Ants you are such a hard worker, you never seem to stop. We do hope you find a little time to have some fun whatever that may be. Love your videos, we never miss any. All the best from Perth in Western Australia.
49.2K subbies! Almost another milestone! Things are looking up! OK gang --- lets do a swat campaign on the LIKE button. P.S. Andris - You could rip a 2X10 (if you were really stuck for the smaller sizes), but that wouldn't make more lumber. It looks like MORE LOGS is what's called for. Yaay - more logs!
For the next project of yours, make an appropriate shelf for all these messy spread out gadgets you just dropped onto snow. Every time the gadget is needed, you can easily approach picking up from the previously created shelf. .that way you could be definitely more efficient during your any daily performance. Sorry if that was too much headache absorbing useless stuff from the coach people. I worked for the copper mine and performed daily boring duties, which forced us to invent to DIY helpful tools to manage to make ours live much easier. That's why I came out with such perhaps not good inappropriate suggestions. Anyway, as always, I wish you the best in providing the next fruitful episodes
Widow maker wonderland. That is exactly the situation where the excavator shines. I really hope that money to fix the excavator comes to find you. Thank you for being a skilled woodsman.
What I do is put canvas material on the side of my tractor, and just using the block heater with canvas keeps the heat in and keeps the block warmer. If you don’t have a block heater, you could attach a metal piece of even ductwork to direct the heat inside
Love it when you go get trees! Reminds me when I use to go with my dad to get them, only thing is the trees he logged would not fit on your sawmill. I just looked up 3-point quick hitches. Vevor makes one. Maybe they will send you one for free to try out. Can't go wrong with a Stihl. Just keep them maintained and sharp chains. Ole Blue does it again. Maybe you can invent a heating blanket for tractors and not just blankets and a heater. Looking forward to your firewood video and lumber making video in the warmer months. You can never have too much lumber or firewood. Until next time take care. Your friend Bill
When I was a kid, 7-10, my great grandfather's wood lot was still on the property a long way back from the house. I was always amazed at the wood-laying there. Trees that had been felled ten years before I was born. The sawmill was long gone. Although long past by as lumber, the one and two and three-meter Diameter wood still remained .
Ol' blue making it look easy. I think you'll be happy with the Stihl, German quality if it is made in Germany. Another great episode. It may help dry out the bog, allowing the sun to penetrate more.👍
I think you’re doing a good job Andris, I agree that you need to thin the forest out so the trees will get larger! Tall trees that are not big in diameter are good for nothing but fence posts! Can’t get lumber from a 60 or 70 foot tree that’s only 4” diameter!
Might consider a engine block heater, it heats the coolant and that circulates through the engine for real easy startups 🤔☺ Oh, also we plugged it into a timer the night before, and set it to turn on before an hour before work :))
cool 4 widowmakers I've been waiting days for your videos boy I would love to live there, but I don't like winter any more but you have all the right toys and your young
It's great how you can see the pathways in your mind's eye so clearly. I'd really love to see you sort the drainage problem in the forest. Your attitude to sustainability is first class. Keep up the great work.
Don't use rubber gloves when it's cold. Moisture will condensate in the glove and make you feel even colder than if you had a thin clothed work glove under the winter gloves. You need permeable layers of air slowly circulating between layers of clothes to be well insulated. The body needs to evacuate moisture, otherwise you will always feel cold.
pretty amazing how much load this tiny trailor axle can handle! It almost seems physically impossible.. especially when you think about the boulders you hauled with it back in the days...
they make a diesel heater with a pump and water jacket. Heats the coolant in engine. Never have to remove in summer. They use them in trucks and off road equipment. Same as your shop heater but heats air and coolant
I use the heat packs that you squeeze them and they will produce heat for at least 4 hours. I bought a pair of gloves that have a pocket on the back of each glove the heat pack fits in and they will keep your hands war m even in minus weather.
When my tractor just refuses to start, I drain the coolant, put it in a pot on the stove in the workshop, then pour the hot mix back into the tractor, that plus a good charge it never let's me down.
Nice work in the forest! Brings back memories when i had a T40-AM. By the way, that tree tumor sure looks like chaga or must pässik in Estonian. Its widely considered having medicinal values among old folk.
I use heated gloves for winter cycling from a French company called Ekoi. They’re the best heated gloves I’ve found since there are heating elements in the fingers rather than just the palm and they aren’t too bulky. Happy weekend.
Tractor goes brrr
Thats a good thing right?
But the heater would be a good plan and nice video 😉👍
Brrrrrrr
Making some side panels for the tractor with a place for a small heater would really make things easier for you in the winter months.
It always sounds like it's struggling when it's working. It kinda sounds tired.

That growth on the tree is called a burl in English, and they are great to turn down in a wood lathe!!
