- Got a good deal on this thing, figured why not just buy something for exchange. Honestly though? i'm not super happy with the thing, but will help me out for the time being for sure. Did a honest review on it and a bunch of upgrades to the thing. Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching

cool thingy. I always cut my lumber in 1m peaces and split it upright with a 20t splitter attatched to a tractror. After stacking and drying for 1,5-2 jears i cut it in 33,3333 cm pieces. This way you can stack them easyer. 1m piles don fall down..
I think you should mount it to your Yanmar. Tie the hydraulics to bypass the electric motor when on the ho. And when using manually put a pin in the new safety bracket so it can't shake loose while driving around on the bobcat.

If it has a save stand or is attached to your Skidsteer, you could try and weld a hook or something to the top of the boom. With that you can lift the logs up without backpain…

Check out Neil Koch: Dig Drives DIY excuator wood splitter. easy, fast and cheap to make and splits big logs. He built it about a year ago..
I think the black bars on the right are for lifting the logs up take the blue bar off the back that's stopping it moving then it will drop to the floor then when the splitter goes up it will lift it connected by that chain

A simple, very effective splitter head design is a circle, with 4 or 5 pie cuts.
Made from bar stock, sharpen, put in hot coals of campfire to harden & temper.
Let cool slowly, not shock, or else it will be brittle glass and useless.

I bought a gas powered splitter, 25 ton last fall and it can switch from vertical to horizontal. Not the fastest Hydraulic cylinder movement but way better than swinging an axe. Hello Ants Pants from Nova Scotia Canada, I am a first generation Canadian Estonian, my parents came to Canada in the early 50's, Im almost 60 years old now and find your channel very interesting. Would like to respond to you in Esto but am so broken in my abilities to be able to. Did not talk a lot in Esto with parents when growing up but am going out on a limb to say hello in Estonian....tere! :)

Wow, that splitter is an animal. Nice new addition to the Ants Pants tool armoury. It wouldn't take much to make some additional adapters for the splitter head. Oil filter crusher & car suspension strut safety spring removal tool.
3 phase cable and premade leads are miles apart in price for some bizarre reason.
I used to buy hundreds of meters of heavy duty H07BN4-F cable and make my own leads for commercial stage use for chain hoist winches and special effects equipment.

I saw one guy had adapted log splitter -- turn upside down and mount on RSJ and attach to excavator-quick coupling-- drive hydrauics from excavator--- advantage that you move the splitter to log and saves man-handling

I like the final product. Should be a tank of a splitter.
That contraption on the right side looks like it is made to load logs. UnBolt it from the transport mode then hook than chain, to it with the head down, when it goes up the log will be lifted onto the table.

Bro you should tap into the electrical system I know you have the knowledge for that. Add a remote control with an extension cord attached to it, a 3 meters cord should be enough. Stand behind the machine towards the motor side and that should be safer than anything else you do to it. save your self a leg, a foot, an arm, an eye or your entire face. Better to be safe than sorry! congrats on your new purchase seem fun!

You can weld a lifting eye on to the top piece of the wedge and use a chain and log tongs to pick up the wood to split
Those wood splitters that attach to the skid steer are great. Make a mount to your skid steer, that will make the height adjustable, you can set it down for large logs then raise it for the smaller ones to a good work hight.

you could mount and face it the other way on your fork-lift; choose your own working height and have it mobile-- cool vid!

1) Make the blue base height adjustable with a 2 way push/pull hydraulic cylinder.
2) With 12 tons, you could set it up for creasing/bending flat steel as well.
3) Make the splitting blade removable for other attachments like a hydraulic bearing press, interference sleeve fitting, metal punch press etc.

Those are known as wave washers. They usually use to provide shock absorption in a system but can also be used as a type of lock washer though they don't work very well for that.

Hi! This new splitter looks a lot like the one I have only you have a 3 phase version! Some observations I made!
1. The bar on your right side is supposed to connect to that chain on top of the splitting ram and it is a log lift to lift heavy logs.
2. Almost no one have a 1 meter fireplace but what you do is you cut the log in one meter pieces with the chainsaw, split them and stack them. The stack is super stable due to the length. Then as the wood is dry, the 1 meter piece is cut using a electric wood saw into the correct length. It is actually less work when you count the steps and splitting is usually the slowest part.
3. I have only been hit once in the balls in many years of using my vertical splitter but I don’t need more children anyway so I think it is a risk that is worth it. I would not want to have those bars in front of the working area.
4. That base area is slippery on my machine too, I might have to do a similar upgrade.
5. The arms are supposed to hold the wood but I don’t get them to work great.
6. My splitter is a bit too low just like yours but i place it on a 45 mm wooden plank when I split, it saves my back.
7. 4 way splitter is great, I have one from the factory, great job you did on yours.
8. I wonder if I could get a 3 phase motor and electronics for mine and upgrade……

Boys and their toys! Rock on, bro. Told ya a vertical log splitter was the best to get! All your upgrades are awesome! Make a ramp to roll any heavy logs up on the support plate. No lifting. Frozen wood will sometimes "explode" when split. Be careful. Until next time take care, keep warm and protect your balls!

You really beefed up that wood splitter. Nice.
As much welding as you do you should buy a welding scaler to clean up your welds. The scaler runs off of air from a compresser and they work fantastic for removing the Flux and spatter from your welds. They only cost less then 50 dollars and a scaler works great. Using a scaler is not only a lot better then knocking the Flux and cleaning up the weld but it's a lot faster then trying to use a slag hammer .
Wire brush on a angle grinder works great also
@@Ants_Pants I've been a fabricator / welder for over 50 years and I've never found anything that will clean a weld faster or better then a scaler. They really work great in tight places a wire brush can't fit. I think if you ever try one you will be very happy with how easy and well it cleans slag off a weld.

That Thing at the side of the splitter with the chain is a loglifter. That is why you have the control lever that stops the hydraulic zylinder to go automaticly back up.
