Shaping up to be the greatest metal comeback of the 21st century, and I'm all in for it. Really proud of Jari and the gang. Buy The Package. They deserve it, and it is packed with tons and tons of such gooode stuff!
As a huge fan of old Ensiferum, since the release of the debut, this hits my nostalgic feelings. Even though it's a demo it sounds solid and it would fit the Ensiferum debut or Iron without a doubt. I'm enjoying his demo stuff because it takes me back to the late 90s and early 2000.

Pedro, I recommend you look at the description on the videos since Jari provides context to when those songs were written/recorded as well as other details. This one was done in 1998 which would have been during the time he was in Ensiferum.

My age
This demo was recorded in 1998, but the vocals were actually recorded recently, probably some time last year or even early this year for the release of the Time Package. He had the lyrics ready back in the day but hadn't actually recorded them.
The song was written in 1998 so it's around 3 years older than the first Ensiferum album. The Fantasy Metal Project demo which this is from was written between 1998 and 2000, and this is the first song written for the demo.
Amazing theories at the end😂😂 Jari is a strange mystical creature indeed, but the music is legendary!
Though I'm happy to hear old Jari stuff. Indeed I'm intriqued and they are fun to listen to, but I'm much more interested in the future and my Wintersun journey has always been about the Time albums. Dragon song and other old songs are great but they don't hit me like the songs in the Time albums do. Jari has improved immensely since these demos so so far none of the demo songs come even close to the greatness of songs like "The Way of the Fire". My absolute favorite of the demo songs so far has been the Wedding Waltz For The Dead, but it was only an introduction and not a full song.
Also I'm happy that the future Wintersun material will be even better than the Time albums, at least in Jari's own opinion. THAT gets me excited.
I'm 100% right there with you. I've been thoroughly enjoying these old demos, but as you said they just don't hit the same as the material on Time, or even on the debut as well as The Forest Seasons. Jari has really grown as a musician, in terms of songwriting/composing, instrumental and vocal capabilities, and production. Excited to hear Time II and all the other future material.

I'm not hesitate a second, when I heard this Time package. I bought losts of albums younger, but only consert tickets now. August will be big, when download starts.
Jari is probably the dragon itself. His wild, younger days of scorching everything is over and ever since then, he gained so much wisdom over the passing millenias to be several steps ahead of everything and everyone, so he just magically disguised himself as a human by morphing himself into one (as some of them dragons did in some world of lore) and he then found music to be highly entertaining way to pass the time... and has been on that track ever since.

At first I thought "wow Ensiferum meets Wintersun" but I dunno, this has WAY more fantasy adventure vibes than I ever really got from Ensiferum. It's definitely folk focused but feels very Jari. Great review guys!
Way more fantasy than Endiferum, but the seed that would blossom in Ensiferum was planted in some of these demos

So, apparently this is a very early song of Wintersun. You can hear that. It sounds more like Ensiferum than Wintersun. I dig it, though. What would be the band name for this song? Ensisun? Winterferum? Winterferum sounds pretty great, actually.
Song easy can be soundtrack for some Dragons movie..only music is excelent..full epic touch..
You really ought to read the video description before or right after watching… it mentioned 1998 as the production year. Although your speculation was funny!
Edit: also a suggestion to add something like (Demo) in the video title when a song is one.

I actually prefer the vocals to sit a bit lower in the mix like in this song. Imo modern metal mixes the vocals way too loud, and unless u are listening on headphones, the guitars and the chord changes become underdefined. Case in point, Eternal Darkness from the Forest Seasons, where u can barely hear what's going on behind the vocals because they are so loud.
Jolly, power/folk metal about Dragons and shit. I respect the band but I like when metal song kicks me in the ass .This one sounds like it wants to go somewhere but strays into the forest and stays there.
This is a demo. You have to keep that in mind and appreciate it for what it is.
Ehh it was kinda boring... after all the Wintersun bullshit I need more then a boring plodding old not good enough to be an Ensiferum song. I guess im finding over time im just not much of a Wintersun fan, even from there first album there is really only one song I like.
I can't shake the feeling that Wintersun is like Ensiferum's worst moments. Can't understand why it's so popular.
Ensiferum stopped to be good when Jari left. Doesnt help im not a fan of Petri in general tho. :D You cant understand why songs like Sons of Winter and Stars and Time are popular?
