Keep in mind that this is just the intro of the song. As you can see from the video, the full song is 6:40 minutes long
Considering he wasn't even 20 years old yet when he created this and other songs, crazy good stuff.
When I was his age, I was farting around and playing video games. (still am!)
right? I'm not even a Wintersun fan but it cracks me up when people who can't even knock the door with any sense of rhythm, criticize a demo that was created decades ago by a teenager.
This is just yet another example of, if you start early you will have bigger chance to polish your skill - no matter what kind of skill is that.
Winter Sundays!!🤘😬🤘
I’m excited to see your reaction to “The Steel of the Gods” 🤘🏻
Same. That song is really good.
This demo shows enough potential for the future Wintersun we used to know.
As a person who adores over-the top keyboard stuff in metal, I love this, it’s totally up my alley. Very nostalgic, as I came into adulthood in the 90s. Yeah it’s early work and it’s not perfect, but it definitely has the sound of those early days. For 1995-96 it’s good underground sound quality. People were recording black metal back then with cheesy tape recorders. If I would have heard this then, it would have been my jam next to Dimmu Borgir. His early work in Arthemisia is also fantastic.
I think this song even if we are just having half of it is quite interesting to say the least. Those Halloweenesque influences are awesome, the lead guitar melodies are so catchy and felt so freak at the same time. I think this stands as a unique song especially with the black metal passages. Can we also take a second to notice that fucking riff through the end, such a banger, sounds like the track is taking another more in your face direction. Yeah the production could be way better but I don’t see any problem to enjoy a lot anyway. Cheers guys and thanks Jari for this 🤘🏼🖤
Have you heard all that remains divine? Need to check it out!
someone was listening to nightwish back in the day.....sounds like early nightwish with black metal vocals.
i actually dig the cheese and theatrics.
This is just an intro, the song is much longer. When I first heard this I was having an emotional day, during the solo, I closed my eyes and cried on how beautifully dark this song is!! Im sorry to say this but your son is WAYYYYY hard to please. You can tell by his face. As a black metal fan, shitty production doesn't bother me. This was great quality considering.
You guys are insane for thinking this sucks? Burn the hard drive? Go back to listening to Amaranth......
The keyboards were kinda bad but the little guitar solo was very nice!
I agree
The keyboard melodies themselves are amazing. Sure, the sound of them is a tad cheap sounding, but surely you're not referring to the melodies themselves?
Wholeheartedly disagree, I really much enjoy those out of place weird stuff, makes it much more interesting and ensures more playthroughs.
Well, looks like no one don't read how Jari created all this sints and forget about he is record this alone at home and it's not "band work" or something like this. For his age this is pretty nice record and he almost use sweeps so much. And, it's just introduction - not full song. I don't understand what you guys want from yearly wintersun material...
You guys are laughing at the song the entire time, but I honestly think it's the best full demo they've released yet. This sounds so much more interesting than all the Ensiferum clone tracks.
I honestly hope that is not the case.
Day 1 me asking you to react to Disembodied Tyrant/Synestia - Poetic Edda EP
It's Lorna Shore on crack.
Its...Dimmu Borgir?
hey boys! make a reaction of Unto Others' new track called Butterfly! you'll love it
Thanks for the heads up
Este es en definitiva un Prog Black Metal, no digan que un tema de Myhem es mejor que esto. 🤷
There are plenty of demo songs around that were composed very well.Just listen to the Necrophobic demo songs from early nineties -obviously the quality sucks. But all songs are interesting, captivating and that is what makes them very good. Both Wintersun demo tracks you have presented so far are dull, flat and badly composed. BADLY COMPOSED.Not badly recorded.
If you don't like Wintersun, knows that no one cares.
I would say that it is both. Badly composed and recorded, but being the first song Jari ever did that is to be expected
Just listened to some of the demos you mentioned
I’m not a straight up death metal fan, or an old school death metal fan
I don’t like the straightforward approach of those songs
I prefer sub genres of death metal like tech death or progressive death metal
So, I find more enjoyable these demos from Wintersun than the demos from necrophobic honestly
And you are reviewing these songs like they are material from an album… they are DEMOS…
I’m not listening to these demos expecting a masterclass in songwriting
@@Serbertim I am a big Wintersun fan, actually. But these demo songs are BAD.
I disagree so much!! You must be listening to something else other than what I heard.
Why??? It's terrible
