Rag as much as you want tbh. When I set foot in a Japanese model shop run by a 90 year old lady (who gave me sweets) and walked out with two perfect grade gundams for £90 each and all the mr hobby stuff I could carry I knew we were getting screwed over here on the Warhammers.
Getting free sweets with your plastic toys is a trend I want to continue with! Cheers I’ll take a perfect grade Gundam over Primarch all day tbh.
We live in the United Kingdom.
We get screwed over on EVERYTHING compared to the rest of the planet.
Its not THAT bad but i know what you mean@@ArnoldJudasRimmer..
@@RisingApe Honestly it just makes the buying experience for anything just that little bit sweeter. I ordered a custom resin keycap from Japan a few months ago and I swear that 90% of the experience was just the box itself. The seller had handmade a little paper box out of various papers and tied it with a piece of string, left a heartfelt handwritten note in Japanese and (admittedly broken, but that made it all the more charming) English and a tiny bag of Japanese sweets about half the size of one of those multipack haribo packets. I'll literally never forget that experience just from the purchase of a £40 keycap. Hell, I'd buy more stuff I don't need if I knew I was going to get all that! Cheers for the videos!
I keep telling people that the price GW charges is not due to higher quality, but rather the price the customers are willing to pay. But they do not believe me.
Is their quality good? Yes it is.
Is it $45 for one character good? Well you be the judge for that.
there models are basic tbh some resin ones look nice but cannot game with them i guess
Hard to disagree with that
GW: best plastic, best lore, best community, very high prices, poor gameplay.
Any questions?
That sums it up, I think various plastic is catching up/ on par/ overtaken GW now.

Thank you very much!☺
You’re very welcome it was a pleasure working with you
always enjoy your videos, keep it coming!
Thanks 🙏
I build a lot of gunpla (and other plamo. Most bandai, some not)
and I had no idea about the tiny versions.
They were new to me too, and they are incredible
OMFG YESSSSSSSSS, you did the clicks editing!
Just for you
Great video as always buddy😊
Thanks mate
I live in Japan and been into Gundam way before that. It is hard to not buy more than you can build, because its so cheap.
I can imagine the bigger kits look amazing.. yet another rabbit hole to disappear into
I wish more GW fans opened there eyes to other models.
I absolutely LOVE Gundam. Their models are unreal quality.
I am about to splash out on a 3d printer as modeling is so expenssive now days and I paint and build dioramas pretty non stop.
Good video man 👌
thanks, that GKtwo comes HIGHLY recommended from much cleverer folks than me
@@RisingApe no way thats one I am buying 🤣
@@RisingApe with wash tank and curing station.
Btw I have never printed ever lol.
I am 41 and no nothing about laptops or programs needed I just am gonna force myself to learn as I want models of all kinds, on tap.
Im a complete luddite, its so easy these days, if you dont care about perfect minis you can just plug and play. and the learning can come after. Also i did a few years with a jug a 2k printer and a UV light@@ArnoldJudasRimmer..
Great video
Thanks
When it comes to art supplies, no one should be buying GW anything.
Hey if that’s all you have then it all works, but there are so many options that are better.
just 1 reason: money.
That’s a biggie for sure
That was just ads
Fair point, I even say as much, It’s just some stuff I like that I recommend. Hard to make a video about stuff I think you should consider buying without it appearing as such though.
You mentioned predatory Asian and online companies selling practices in another video. GW is the poster child for predatory sales practices PLUS over priced miniatures.
Blather on in praise of the lore, but a lot of the "great lore" from the last decade is blatant and subtle retcons to cover for GW's failure of editorial control over lore and GW going through a series of getting their arses kicked in court and other areas over their IP lies. Quick examples, use of Astartes over Space Marines, because it is trivial to show "space marine" predates the birth of GW, heck the birth of GW's creators. Aeldari, because the source of Eldar as a name for elves should be obvious.
Not going to get into the excessively detailed minis that use the details to justify the excessively high pricing, when the details cannot be seen at the arms length of the tabletop or even require magnification at close range to discern.
I don’t disagree with any of that particularly. Personally I love GW models and lore but there there are also loads of amazing games/ models lore out there too and that’s where I spend most of my time. I would say I don’t mind GW doing whatever they want business wise, i think they operate in fairly standard business practices for company of their size. if people decide to buy it that’s entirely on them and fair play to them.
Bandai can charge $7 because they are a Massive company. The amount they can produce means lower prices. I’m not defending GW, just comparing GW to Bandai isn’t a fair comparison
I’m not necessarily comparing the two companies but I am offering up the Gunpla Artifact range as an alternative if you’re interested in new models to buy. You’re absolutely right about the size of the companies though, Bandai turns over 7bn dollars and GW about .5bn
@@RisingApe :D You are so polite.
@@RisingApe As an long time asian model hobbyist, and once fall in love with Warhammer 5 years ago, I have to say the first year makes me believe GW's price is fair. But the way they treat their own empoloyee and cosumers, I found now a day I have better choice at the same level. Meanwhile, many companies smaller in Japan DO have fair quality and price compare to GW.
Wow. GW rips people off?! Shocking... /s
I’m not even sure it does, it just depends if you think what it does is good value.. which I’m not sure it is
@@RisingApe Yeah. I don't buy the idea of value being based on whatever a person subjectively thinks due to relativism. If someone sells someone a pencil is $5,000,000,000 dollars, and they think it's a good value, it doesn't make it so. It just means the person doesn't understand what the real value of a pencil is supposed to be.
I get what you are saying, but in the case of GW there are lots of things which can add value which can make the price more valuable to them, for example being able to use the models at an offical tournament. for me that has no use so the models are over priced fo others who derive benefit from other services then the value is more@@zenster1097
Japanese make great models and consumables but gw has it fan bois , and i understand it a game but none of you are modellers us scale bois techniques are at a diffrent tier ... war hammer folk pretend we don't exist 🤣
Haha maybe one day
GW has the best lore in sci-fi gaming history. Nothing else comes close.
There are games with cheaper models and better rules, but the theme and setting cannot help but fall short.
I like all modelling.
I certainly do not rag on any other part of the industry. You know....because I do it for my own enjoyment, and I am not 12 years old?
Also....you are spot on man. They kinda don't, and that is a shame.
I have been using enamel/oil paints for my silly priced forgeworld stuff for years.
We can all get on, we all love miniatures. Knowledge is transferable on any model 🧐👌
100% this@@ArnoldJudasRimmer..
