  • Robbe and Thomas give their first thoughts on the Brooks Hyperion Max 2, which is not a max cushion shoe, but is a higher stack, plated version of the Hyperion (this is important to know). Available now for $180.

    60 miles on my pair and loving them. They do soften up and become tolerable at EZ pace for me at 180 lbs. This shoe rly sings at threshold pace for me tho. Upper is super dialed and comfy too.

    I love your casual approach to reviews. No stuffy sets. Sometimes you’re indoors, but that’s OK. Totally agree on the aesthetics of the shoe. It’s like Puma Nitro, as you said, and I loved that.

    This shoe is amazing. Not as soft as I expected but when I’m running, I feel like I have not thing on almost in a good way. Shoe just becomes an extension of you.

    I love a plush shoe but I always loved the DNA Flash foam. Sometimes I just like that firmer ground feel in my shoe. The Hyperion tempo was one of my all time favorite speed shoes and I love the Max v1 and the design of the Hyperion series looks awesome this year. Some of the best looking shoes

    • @MedicineRunner
      @MedicineRunner หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@jleija05jl definitely not mushy. Just broken in. I honestly don’t think it’s humanly possible to make this shoe mushy.

    Brooks uppers are spot on , tgey just have to tweak the midsole (if they can mimic lightstrike pro) .

    Why does max have to mean cushy? I was never confused with the naming. Definition of max means more of something. You have the Hyperion so the Hyperion Max means a bigger version of the Hyperion.

    • @Believeintherun
      @Believeintherun  หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      It doesn't have to mean that, but with running shoes the word 'max' is most used when talking about max cushion, and because it looks like most max cushion shoes, one may logically think it would fit into that range of shoes.

    • @derringera
      @derringera หลายเดือนก่อน

      Even this comment is confusing. Max has nothing inherently to do with bigger either. It would be reasonable to make an even lighter and smaller shoe and call it the Hyperion Max if it maximizes workout day or race day efforts. But since maximizing could be interpreted in any number of ways, it's reasonable that people would gravitate towards the most common use of the word in the industry which is max cushioning.

    • @itsahardmuttlife9263
      @itsahardmuttlife9263 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@derringera You must get confused easily. I understood what Books meant by max. Just like there is a Ghost, there is a bigger Ghost, Ghost Max. A bigger version which they named Max.

      I’m going to echo other comments here saying this midsole does soften up some over time though I do agree it sings at faster paces, but I did use its predecessor for some general training sessions. I tried this version on recently and LOVED the upper. Fit and comfort are both terrific and runs perfectly true to size (I’m having to size up .5 in Saucony and some NB shoes lately but not Brooks).

    Seems like running shoes are following the design cues from cars right now... spelling out their names on their products and not just sticking with logos.
