You haven’t tried the triumph 22 that Pb on the soles are amazing on cushioning, Brooks needs to get rid of the ridiculous DNA flash and start using foam like all the top brands.
@@mike89box Well, to each their own. I did send back to the Ghost Max 2, but had previously tried the Triumph 22 and absolutely hated them despite being a big fan of the PB foam (three other shoes I use have it). Triumph 22 felt like a brick to me. The newly-released Puma MagMax is doing REALLY well after three runs and may be my shoe of choice for beat up legs.

I‘ve got the recommendation from one of your running buddy’s Yowana about the Brooks Ghost Max V1. He pointed it out to be the best walking shoe that he used in the past and so I bought it then for like 120 bucks. And in my eyes Yowanas statement that the V1 is great walking shoe is right after my made experience recently 😃👍 I love to see you both running together in California at the Running Warehouse event 🙏🙌 It‘s seemed to me almost if you two know each other for years. Like good fried. That haven’t seen each other for like months or so 😃
I was surprised that my Academy store had the brooks Ghost max 2 in store. I tried on both ghost max 2 and glycerin 21, I liked the glycerin 21 instead of the ghost max 2 because it felt softer and lighter. So I've ordered my pair of glycerin 21 online, as my casual walking shoe to replace my New balance 1080v13.
I literally just now put on the Max 2 and immediately felt everything you described to a tee; and that is with my orthotic insert. The biggest factors would be with my first steps: Clunkier & Shorter!
I also found V1 to not be very stable. Was surprised to see it labeled stable neutral in the written review and I agree with the change in evaluation from that in this video.
I've been running (and walking) quite a bit in the Ghost Max 2 and its one of my favorite shoes. Do agree that you should consider going 1/2 size up. I also got the Hyperion 2 which fits perfectly in 11.5 US but ghost max 2 is a bit short in the same size. Just get away with it but would definitely consider going for 12 US if I bought again. Didn't run in the Ghost Max 1 but have to say the 2 is perfect cushion and response and definitely can dial in around 5 minute km steady pace as well as any shoe. Also very stable so can run in it every day.
Is the shoe still more lateral bias? Because of the grove like you mention in the max 1 review ? Any advice on lsd/ recovery shoe that is stable neutral but for a supinator . I think about the hurricane 24, bondi, skyflow, 880 v14. Propel v5. Not to soft and stable neutral and no medial but lateral support. It would be great that you do a episode on best recovery, daily, speed and race for supinators. I wear the Hyperion max 2 as daily and Mach 6 as tempo.
Ghost 2 is firmer, even with the new midsole, more spring back, less bottoming out but likely to last longer due to. Glycerin is softer than Ghost 2. Ghost 2 is more walkable and much more stable due to being firmer V1.
I loved the ghost max ones so I got the ghost max two after putting 500 miles on the first pair but ever since I got the second pair I haven’t been able to run more the 2.5 miles with having knee and hip pain. Anyone else have similar experience?
Ghost max 1 was for me to soft foam I wiggle in the heel and for me go lateral sink in. Ghost max 2 will fix this? Is it the most stiff recovery run shoe and comparable to monster cloud 2? Shoe like more v5, nimbus, guide, hurricane 24, bondi/ gaviota/ Clifton are more softer sinking in I quess?
@@karls8989 completely different. The ultraboost 5x is a lighter, far more responsive responsive performance trainer that will not do well with orthotics
Help Me Please, what do you recommend for best walking shoe for male age 52 with plantar fasciitis and ankle tendinitis in both feet and it won’t go away! It’s been a year now I’ve spent way too much money on 16 pairs of shoes since October of last year until last week when I bought the ASICS kayano 30s which helped a bit more than the other shoes
Grab the Keen WK400 (size down half, for most folks but grab TTS and a smaller size to compare) and add an Inov8 Boomerang insole that's half a size US larger than the WK400 that fits you. So, if you get a size 9, order the Boomerang insole a half size up (US equivalent). The insoles are currently on sale in the UK and not found on US sites, but they're cheap enough to buy two of them. Replace the stock insole with the Boomerang. Now get some elastic cinch-lock laces to convert the shoes into slip-ons. Enjoy! P.S. I found the leather WK400 to require half size UP from TTS, so go for a 9.5 if you wear a 9 normally.
Great review. Thank you! I have the glycerin GTS 21 - went up 1/2 size. Tried on the brooks ghost max 2 at Dick’s Sporting - my usual size 10 (that I wear in Adrenaline) was too short - so I will need to go up 1/2 size. In the Max 2. The Max 2 feels lighter/ snappier than the glycerin GTS(shoe is too clunky for me). Plan to get ghost max 2 for fast walking and hopefully shoe works for me running as well. I want to alternate them with my Adrenaline GTS Anyone have any insights/comparisons with Ghost Max 2 v Bondi?
I wear glycerin gts 21 in size US 10 Wide 2E should I order the same in ghost max 2 ? kindly guide from your experience with these shoes . Is the max softer and more plush?

I like the V1 Ghost max so much that when I tried a V2, I just ordered another v1! excellent review as always!!
I converted the V1 to my casual shoe and preordered the V2 just last night.

Only downside is that it's heavier

The colorways that were there weren't appealing to me.
why the Glycerin to replace the 1080v13 as a casual walking shoe? I'm currently between the Ghost Max 2 and the 1080v13 as an all-around daily shoe
the NB v13 are great for walking around at work. I will probably buy the Ghost 2 for the looks :P

If you use the “find my size” feature on brooks website, it even suggests that you go half-size up on this shoe.
great information in such a short amount of time. well done
GM felt a tad too short and tapered in the toe box. My pinky toes hurt. So I returned them. I’ll try the GM2 a half size up.
Great review
The v1 doesn't have good durability imo. I sent two pairs back with very little kms due to outsole rubber peeling.

Kayano 30 is the right choice
I find the kayano 31 has a touch more arch support and is softer. Go for the 31. I also find shoes with stiffer forefoot rockers help the ankle.
