    Your ability to spot turtles and grab them in murky water is truly special 😆

      I can’t see any either. Either that or the video not picking up true clarity of the water.

    Greg, I have loved watching your videos for years, I may not comment all the time but you have taught me so much and I want to thank you. Because of your videos I have given my 34 turtles better enclosures and lives.

    Love the Alligator Snapping Turtles. I can't wait to get Musk and Mud turtles at the Reptile Super Show on July 8th. Hopefully they'll have Spotted Turtles as well😁.

    Great video especially the part about the damage incurred from nesting activity.I’ve seen similar damage on the rear feet of nesting diamondback terrapins forced to use human disturbed areas for nesting grounds

      It’s pretty wild to see the impact and how strong the drive to nest is.

    Great as always Greg. That was a beautiful AST. I'm sure her babies will be insanely cute. Awesome observation. I didn't realize how much damage it did to such a tank of a turtle. But it makes since considering the substrate. Have a good one. And please put out more videos.

      Yes, we don’t really see this in the Sandy coastal plain regions

    Can alligator snapping turtles get through thick pond plants? I have 4 ponds on my property, I think I have a alligator snapping turtle living in one. How would I find it? I live in Texas. Please help.

    • @GregsTurtleHaven
      @GregsTurtleHaven  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Likely common snapping turtles; alligator snapping turtles live in rivers, streams and bayous that drain into the Gulf of Mexico.

    It is 100% true, that was a good looking female. And your ability to determine the sex of the turtle in the water before you even pick her up tells me you have totally attained master status. Youre the only person, i know, next to yours truely, who can do that ! Im so happy to see your videos like this always. When i was 16 and 17 (35 years ago) i scouted the maps and highways where you are currently taking your trips but the "more knowledgable" herpetologists would tell me they were not in the areas where you are finding them so i never scouted. Good work Greg.
