This is a significant release! 0 to +2 is a serious promise. Agreed. Show me an Aqua Terra, a Globe Master, an SM300 with overall thickness at 12mm, Omega Steel, and this accuracy. That would be a something. But remember if you're playing Rolex comparison, you need to add white gold hands and indices and also price competitively. I bet Swatch group could do that.
While I really appreciate how impressive what Omega has been able to achieve with the Spirate system, fact is, It’s been almost 20 months since this watch was announced if reckon correctly and video this is among the first that shows this watch in the wilds. I dont know what to make of that.
Omega is notoriously bad at announcing watches long before they ever hit the market. It was the same with the seasons AT and now the Summer Blue Ultra Deep. I don't think that has been spotted in the wild yet, and it's 2 years old
Also I wonder if they had issues with the new system when released last year. I haven’t seen this model in any boutiques for almost a year after release. They are only showing up recently.
I think it looks fantastic, in addition to being technologically significant. What is the thickness, and does the 44 mm diameter include the crown guards like the 42 mm measurement does on the standard Moonwatch?
First, this is an awesome Speedmaster. Besides the tech, aesthetically it's really good looking, imho. On one hand, yes, I would like to see the tech in this watch eventually in all Omegas. On the other hand, if that means all Omegas with this tech will be above $10k, then IDK if I like that?
Got the call for this mid this year after a long wait. The tech seems solid with delta of most slow running position and the most fast being only a little over 1 second. The six position average is actually less then a second. I can understand people saying so what to such accuracy, but to a accuracy nerd this is a fraction of the price for a breguet 7727.
I agree. The balance wheel floating by magnetism, dual inverted silicon balance springs, an institution measuring this movement to be the most reliable caliber in terms of frictional fluctuation, and not to mention the crazy high beat. The retail price has increased significantly though.
ALL of my automatic watches run slightly slow, including my Seamaster, Can you clarify exactly what they mean by 0 to + 2 Seconds per day, Is this guaranteed or an average? Nice watch though!
Nice. I'd guess they'll prove the tech in the Racing and Planet Ocean ranges, before roll out to the big sellers like SMP and Speedy Pro. My other guess is they'll split the Speedy Pro range between Hesalite that will will maintain the classic form and the SS which will move upscale with applied markers, gloss dial and Spirate. The real point of Spirate is to allow fully mechanised regulation which is quicker and saves a fortune cp using watch makers... It's the ultimate QA investment.
Somehow I now doubt what TH-camrs say about omega and its superior movement . I bought an speedmaster moonwatch pro, taunted as the best omega, dwarfing even the Rolex Daytona. the chrono hand jumps every time pusher is pressed. Never happen to my Daytona. Did they improve this issue with this new movement? I don’t think so..
@@BruceWilliams if I ever spot it, I’ll try it on. I have a speedy chronoscope panda but have been thinking about swapping it for the new white speedy professional
So these watches have to sit around the factory for a week to find out which way to finally tune the timing, I doubt they do that on a mass produced watch, I bet they will depend on you to take it to a Boutique for that fine adjustment.
At the risk of getting geeky, +/- 0 - 2 sec does not mean watch will not lose time. It means the standard deviation of is 1 +/- 1 sec per day; that is, there is about a 67% chance the accuracy will deviate between 0 and 2 sec/day, and about 95% chance will deviate between -1 and 3 sec/day (two standard deviations).
Not geeky at all. You should see the look on my face when I hear various youtubers say that COSC means your watch will run from -4 to +6 seconds per day...
Why do people just comment things are too expensive, these are luxury products and the swatch group have a 10% net profit each year. They can’t be that expensive if you take into account everything
many many spot on accuracy watches, even cheap seikos. what's mind blowing is that the brand guarantees this accuracy. no brand would want watches returned for regulation.
I love the movement I totally hate the dial honeycomb the bumblebee hand the yellow generally...this is a pig ugly watch....I too hope the movement and Omegasteel become the norm over the next few years ...say 10 years My Longines UltraChron is supposedly accurate to + 2 seconds a day....but that's a 5hz so can't really compare with a 4hz I guess. Come on Omega roll out this tech to the rest of your catalogue

It seems like a fantastic movement. I'm suprised they haven't started putting it in more stuff.
It's pretty awesome. They probably want to wait it out and see how real world circumstances play out over time before rolling it out to other models.
Gorgeous dial. If I was in the market for a new watch, this would be near the top of my list!

I’ve had mine for over a year in Australia now. Maybe just the American roll. Great watch ima
I'm hoping the Spirate system will appear in the Moonwatch pro by the time I've saved up for it.
Love your channel with so many stellar watches! For me the AMZWATCH’ watch is my favorite. Keep the videos coming. Thanks.
Also I wonder if they had issues with the new system when released last year. I haven’t seen this model in any boutiques for almost a year after release. They are only showing up recently.
Love you Bruce but isn’t it SpirATE not spiright? 😁

I own one☝🏼
Purchased from Exquisite timepieces!!!
Would recommend as well.
Very nice watch. Best bracelet on the market. Have on my silver chronoscope.

I had this watch for about 3 weeks. It’s unbelievable how accurate it is. The problem is I got bored of it. Great watch though
Just when I’ve decided I want the FOIS, now you have me looking at this one!
Lol and Omega will continue to drop fire that has us questioning it all

Great to hear your experience, thanks for commenting
Technically 7727 is much more interesting to me though

Great review.
Omega has been going upmarket. Better than Rolex? Future will tell.

Wait a minute, what? Your video is not on Rolex or Tudor? Bruce are you okay?
Don't be alarmed Magpie, I got some Tudor and Rolex content on the way! I know it is your favorite

what would be the most accurate mechanical watch ever made?
At this point, its this Speedmaster
Best steel brilliant Gs
Super, maybe in smaller thiner version
The only movement innovation I’d like to see out of Omega right now is thinner movements. This watch is 15mm thick
Automatic chrono, and 2 box crystals will do it
@ is it still wearable?
@@Griffin1994 Absolutely. I love the size
@@BruceWilliams if I ever spot it, I’ll try it on. I have a speedy chronoscope panda but have been thinking about swapping it for the new white speedy professional
This makes me kind of regret getting the moonwatch professional...

I appreciate what they have done with the movement but I want it in 40mm case , they used to make speedmaster racing in 40mm

You're a connoisseur not a geek. Anime weirdos are geeks

No1 wears 45 mm watches tho…..
Nice but expensive. Like everything else.
Why do people just comment things are too expensive, these are luxury products and the swatch group have a 10% net profit each year. They can’t be that expensive if you take into account everything
my 'stowa' flieger eta2824-2 keeps the same level of accuracy after 12 years without a single service. all for 550 euros!

44 mm is way too large for me and that sucks
Fugly and well overdue, but who is actually buying one and not just mouthing off?
Intelligent Europeans, unlike dumb and foolish Americans who ain't even got a proper watch brand of their own 😂😂😂
I own one and I love it!
I wear it very often too. It fits well on my 6.75 in wrist. Definitely a niche piece.
yes, probably so that their aren't many accuracy nerds in this hobby, but I did buy it, and the accuracy ison another level
