Great update, and indeed upgrades. Mine arrived on Tuesday (you made me do it). I'm over the moon with the revisions made by Evolution. It really is a superb piece of kit for the money. Also, I was advised that the ZCI should be available by the end of November... fingers crossed 🤞
I have had the older version of this saw for years. It certainly has its shortcomings - terrifyingly explosive start, dreadful dust collection, and flimsy throat plate - however, complaints aside, with very little adjustments out of the box, it has an excellent fence, and is capable of accurate cuts with a decent blade. I'd highly recommend Saxton Blades, as the do manufacture them with the same odd arbor size as the Evolution OEM iterations. I have several, ranging from ripping blades, all the way up to 80tpi for plywood and mdf. Butter smooth cuts, putting the Evolutions to shame. They are also a fraction of the cost. Anyway, thanks for sharing, and enjoy the new toy.
Yea I think they have made some big improvements to this. Soft start is so nice when compared to the explosive starts and the dust collection is actually really great on this one. Had no dust collector hooked up as a test and can see the dust flying out the port. Thanks for commenting!
You legend, I’d bought erbauer blades and the reducing ring was out by a fraction of a mm and distorted the sit of the blade, making it unusable. Got refunded but had resigned myself to have to shell out for Evo blades. Will look them up!
I'm almost "influenced" but still on the fence ;) All very good upgrades 👌 I think that an upgraded fence to with your new mitre gauge would complete the package. If you do decide to I can offer some of my bad choices to help :) 1. don't get carried away with the length of the fence. I did and it is too wide for my dewalt 7492. It tends to be a bit "tippy". 2. Make sure that you get one that allows you to calibrate/zero the fence/stops/ruler and account for the fact that the fence will need to be few mm away from the blade. Mine doesn't and i have had to screw bolts into the flip stop to compensate which works but is a pain and unsightly :) I also think that a dial gauge gizmo is a cheap but very useful thing to have for calibrating the blade to the tracks. reach out if you want to know what NOT to buy ;) 🤣happy to share my experiences
So…I did have an upgraded fence but I chucked it away by mistake🙄… but I agree, will end up sorting something soon I’m sure. Glad that I can learn from your mistakes!
It appeared your saw blade wasn't lifted all the way up when you changed the blade which would make it a lot easier to change. I could be wrong though...
Yea, good spot. I worked that one out afterwards 😂. It’s amazing what you catch yourself doing when you film yourself. Was preoccupied with sorting out the camera and making sure it was recording!
He talks too fast when he is trying to discuss what he is doing, that’s the part I want to be able to understand. It looks like he has some good upgrades. He does slow down when he is working on the saw I can understand him somewhat then! He talks like he’s got a wad of chewing tobacco in his mouth or something else! Another thing in America we don’t deal in quid so give us a break!

Ooh! That’s good to hear, will keep my eyes out for the ZCI. Haha I made you do it. Officially an influencer 😜

I've got an Evolution chop saw but it has an imperial arbor so metric blades won't fit. is this the same?
This is 1”, got the new blade from evolution too so everything fits.
@@sawdust934 Thank you. I had to get a freind to turn the inside of the blade insert to fit. The slow start on a chop saw is a **** nuisance

I’m in the Uk you mug. Hence why I talk in pounds. Why would I talk in dollars. The world doesn’t revolve around you.
