    Sounds great, baffles in or out. Fun to watch, and/or listen to,. Currently locked down in my region in Canada. Besides, it’s cold and rainy today, so great to see someone out riding and enthusiastically enjoying their fantastically clean and shiny motorcycle! Big fun, thanks for the video. Hitchcock’s really are good, too, in my experience. Cheers from Canada.

    The most authentic "classic" sound I've heard from a modern bike. Baffles in made me think of a neighbours Gold Flash 650 in about 1961/62.

    Just installed these on a Baker Express, tried some cheaper slip ons, but the sound of these is just what I was looking for, they sound beautiful with the baffles in and just more of everything with them out. I'll keep the baffles in for longer, touring rides and out for local hoons. Thanks Stuart, cheers from NZ

    I`ve fitted classic megaphone exhaust silencers to my interceptor and fitted some extra baffles both supplied by the classic bike shop at a cost of about £90.00 have also fitted the DNA filter and fuel booster. You are absolutely right! the difference this has made in the mid-range is astonishing! with a noticeable difference when two up. So much so you don`t really feel a difference when two up.Yes, the bike is louder but not in any way offensive and I`ve received many a thumbs up and smile from the older generation as I ride past.Would recommend this modification to anyone that is considering it.Thank you for posting this great video.

    One of the great things about louder pipes is they drown out a lot of mechanical chatter from the engine. Your bike sounds stronger. Interesting observation too, about how the silencers feel cooler to the touch over stock. To me, that sounds like greater efficiency. Loving the location. The avenue of trees reminds me of one of my favourite paintings at the National Gallery, The Avenue at Middelharnis, by the 17th century Dutch artist Meindert Hobbema. Thanks for sharing all your hard work.

    Hey, Stuart. Picked up a new to me 2019 Interceptor a few days ago and love it. Only had 1600 miles on her. I had them upgrade the exhaust to the AEW as well as a high flow air filter and added a booster plug. I love it! I took the baffles out and she really barks now. Next mods will be the suspension. It's a little rough. Cheers, sir! 🍻

    They do look good and sound good. Very similar to the S&S pipes that came with my bike when I bought it. I have just fitted a pair of Hitchcock’s Stainless steal headers to the bike which are very well made and sound and perform awesome. I had taken the sound reducers out when I fitted the headers and they can be very loud , ok if your just riding around town but if your going to traveling at highway speeds for hour or more that can be a little too much on the ears even with ear plugs which I wear all the time. I’ve put them back in ,it take the edge off just a little . Cheers mate 👍🏻

    First, I just want to say thank you for the time and effort you put into informing the rest of us. Baffles out sounds better, I'd probably have them in. I find any length of time with loud sound becomes tiring. My typical day of riding would be 2 to 3 hundred miles and I'm old and cranky. Quiet is appreciated.

    One of the main restrictions on the Interceptor/GT exhaust is the cats in the headers. If you try a set of headers(I believe Hitchcocks do a catless header) you will see an even more dramatic improvement in performance. I've seen dyno figures of around +10hp at the back wheel using a catless exhaust with the DNA filter. My GT is now hitting the rev limiter in top gear with ease. Many thanks for the recommendation on iridium plugs, fitted some and now the bike is much more stable on tick over.

    Thanks much for this video Mr. Fullingham. They sound awesome both ways, just like the AEW T102s. Without the baffles it's much louder as the revs rise and can be heard from much farther away. No popping on mine either but there's a very satisfying thrum as you let the revs drop. Without baffles, they're beyond the 80db legality in India so if one gets caught, it could lead to a confiscated bike and on the spot removal of pipes. Love the scenery! Also, looks like you've changed your headgear? You mentioned that the DNA filter Is stage 1 only. Any particular reason for not going till stage 2? Thanks again for the video and background score too!

    Lovely sound both with the baffles in and out. Was contemplating getting a 650 Interceptor to complement my Classic 500 but ended up getting a Kawasaki W650 instead lasty year mainly because it still has a kickstart to complete that classic look, and also a bit more torque than the Interceptor. The Interceptor is really a great bike though.

  • @robertlindstrom540
    @robertlindstrom540 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    That is a great looking bike. It is on my shortlist for a new bike, just not had a chance to go test one yet. And the baffles would need to be in as my neighbours propably will prefer it. That is supposing I buy one, my old bike still has plenty of service in it and I still like it, even with season 10 starting. Only have room in my garage for one which is great for my wallet also. Mostly use the bike for joyriding, anyway so no practical aspects to consider. Nice video.

  • @Lab4Rats
    @Lab4Rats 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Stuart, trust you are well. I am regular to your channel and love your relaxed style both when talking and when riding to the countryside..that said, I have something on my mind. I am from India where temperatures soar to 45+ during summers. I own an Interceptor 650 and noticed something peculiar. If I am in city traffic and try to constantly rev and break to get out of tight spots, the engine gets super hot and when that happens the Engine and Abs light come on. Sometimes, only the Abs lights comes on, the console light goes off and only one of the horns functions (we have two on Interceptor). Another way to recreate is to go uphill, steep climb and rev hard in higher gear. The engine light will come back on. What perplexes me is that I haven't heard anyone else having this issue. Maybe because I have ridden it more than most people do. In 2 years with lockdown and everything I have done 30000 kms. I have done trips which have taken me on dirt roads, high altitudes and through streams. I can't put my finger on it but it appears to be a wiring / electrical issue only and my engine seems fine. Interestingly on some occasions when I have had the engine light and parked the bike for the night, sometimes, when I again start it in the morning I see that is the engine light is on. Not sure where to start but the service center guys do not have a clue. Each time they clear it out from the ECU but it comes right back on. Any help in this direction would be much appreciated

  • @canopus101
    @canopus101 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I fitted Lextec silencers to my Interceptor on 2nd April and have covered 900 miles with baffles in only. As you say it is difficult to judge sound from camera audio but I would judge that my silencers, with baffles fitted, are slightly louder than the Enfield Precision with baffles removed.
    I base this on the very noticeable induction note that can be heard on your video. This is much less discernible on my machine, drowned by the pipe's sound, and I have the self same DNA setup as on your bike. I have commented mainly to give viewers who are thinking of changing their silencers a bit of a comparison. I know what a headache it is to choose from the several systems available.
    Generally I am pleased with the sound, appearance and performance of the Lextec. My only criticism is a very shoddy looking pair of mounting brackets. They do the job but look like I made them in the shed! In the winter I may look at replacing them with something that matches the quality finish of the rest of the silencer.

    Sounding good uncle Stu. Very British in it’s manners, even with the baffles out. Thanks for the review, since getting my Interceptor last week been looking at pipes to complete my mods (air filter, booster, ecu). Still not sure whether to go 2-1 or 2-2. And the legal side worries me too, might go with an Italian brand like zard since they have their papers in order... safe rides!
