    testing the fat sound of this little machine
    A sweet source of dub tech and modern reggae (stepper, digital) chord sounds, the J-6 Chord Synthesizer combines a powerful sequencer with rich tones of the Juno-60. I heard it is the same engine as the boutique series

    Sounds great! What settings did you use for the sound (minor key?) and the pattern? Thanks!

    bloody fab sounding! Curious about one thing though...your Heated levels look balanced but what I'm hearing is very much heavier on one speaker than the other...

      Right, I panned the audio signal in post with a slight delay

    Can the J6 send midi data to outbaord gear? Say I have a synth and I want to play the sounds on it with the J6 generating the chords and progressions, could I do that?

    Hi, awesome set, what presets are you using on the J6?

  • @80snostalgiafan79
    @80snostalgiafan79 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you know the sound preset list, are any of them definitely same as Juno 60? Also like the other device with it whats its name for retail therapy causes? 😊

    What does the analog heat do? Could you just get the ball rolling with the j-6 . Very confused about where to start.

    • @FoundationStepper
      @FoundationStepper  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The analog heat heats the audio signal: adds harmonic distortion

    • @jaysire
      @jaysire ปีที่แล้ว

      You can certainly get the ball rolling with just the J-6 (and a drum machine maybe). The J-6 has reverb, delay, envelope and you can choose to do chords, arp patterns or just play the vanilla sound. There are a lot of different traditional Juno -sounds to choose between, so you can get quite a lot of different sounds out of it. There is also a sibling -machine (or two). One is a drum + bass sequencer called T-8, so you could make full tracks with just the J-6 and T-8. There are several examples of it on TH-cam.

    Cant get my j6 to play anything threw midi😢

  • @girlinagale

    This is such a nice way to play dub chords because the chords can be transposed instantly, unlike the sequences.

    • @girlinagale
      @girlinagale ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Also with "Chord" turned off you can start with a note and add up to 3 more notes. I find dub techno doesn't need complex chords, just a minor triad is the best, it's the envelopes, filter and delays which bring the sound.

    The Analog Heat is SO noisy!

    • @FoundationStepper
      @FoundationStepper  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I added extra noise to the mix because of the dub tech genre;)
