I got about 34 of them tbh. Ice Age as a whole is still one of the best MTG sets.
Mystic remora is a great card in commander. Also didnt see a single swords to Plowshares.
It honestly pains me that there is physically no way to even break even if you buy a box of this set.
Angel Oneill Rudy was straight up before we begun - the EV is not going to match to sealed box price.
My guess is Coldsnap would be the set from Ice Age block that comes closest.
The BEST set magic has and will ever produce.

I was a 14yr old "Timmy" when Ice Age came out and me and my friends started heavily playing around this time. Great memories.

That mystic remora blue fish card you pointed out is making a comeback because it's new to the pauper format.
Fyndhorn elf and llanowar elf at one time were both in standard(type 2 back then). It was pretty cool running 8 one drop mana dorks!

I ran wild growth and llanowar druid with the 8 dorks, and a butt ton of fatties. It was the hit of the shop that season. Weather Light had just come out.
These packs are stuck together just like the pages of Rudy's vintage collection of Big 'Uns.

Man, I remember opening Ice Age. I'm stopping to read some of these cards and boooooy are they bad.
I know a lot of people are down on this set but remember what it came after (Fallen Empires). Definitely a step up from that.

The reason they printed llanowar elves with a different name is so you can run more than 4x in your deck.
There were a few cards that mirrored 3rd/4th that you could add to decks,. Discard (specter), land destruction, even Tim decks got a boost, elves was another.
True another reason was because some people were confused why the original card was 'Llanowar Elves' when it only showed a single Elf and I think both reasons contributed to a change
Howl from beyond, incinerate, and stone rain are way more iconic than regeneration and shatter...plus, mystic remora is probably one of the top 5 cards in the whole set!!! (And u missed an early fynhorn elf) great vid tho!!! I remember seeing these boxes for sale EVERYWHERE!!!!!
How does Regeneration make the iconic card piles but Stone Rain doesn't?
andrew allen exactly!!! I was thinking the same about incinerate and howl from beyond, both way more iconic than shatter and regeneration. I’ve been playing magic since revised, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody cast regeneration, ever....😂😂🤷♂️🤷♂️

From pygmy allosaurus to Galta...tinder walls were huge like blood pets for no p9 ramp
I remember when this set came out and I bought a guy a booster box for a LP/NM Juzam Djinn. He had a playset and the one I chose had deeper color than the other 3. Wish I still had it.
Portent was amazing back in the day. Ashen ghoul was also one of the kings of reanimator!

Ice Age was classic. Karplusan Yeti is such an underrated card. Necropotence. First reprint of Icy Manipulator. Blinking Spirit. Knight of Stromgald. Order of the White Shield.
A "first reprint" is such a weird thing to celebrate.
@@BarHonigfeld at the time, it was unusual to see reprinted cards from Alpha/Beta/Unlimited. Everyone thought Icy Manipulator was gone for good, like Demonic Tutor. So it was exciting. Source: I'm old.
@@georgeasimakos1744 There.... there are tons of reprints in Ice Age. A good portion of this video even was singeling out iconic reprints.
I was also there. Here, no one was excited to see Icy Manipulator being reprinted except for me. Because I loved Amy Weber artwork.

Llanowar and Fyndhorn are locations. Ice Age focused on another part of Domineria, so llanowar as name wouldnt make sense for the elves in the set, so they got named Fyndhorn Elves instead.

This set launched 2 weeks before I started playing the game.
I remember it fondly.
The common Mystic Remora ‘fish’ is actually worth something. It is played in commander, removing counters for the cumul upkeep.
Breeding pit + Minion of Leshrac, the combo that made my friends cry.
Flyhndorn elves are súper icónic!! Maybe misspelled but Mr. Taco will know the card I’m talking about

History lesson on why all the reprints in Ice Age. I used Wiki for the explanation "Ice Age was the first "stand-alone" expansion; that is, it was the first set that could be played independently of other Magic: The Gatheringproducts. It was the first expansion to reprint all five basic lands. Ice Age is also the first set that was printed for a certain period."

Man, how hard was it to get a Jester's cap or necropotence in this set? Haven't seen a single one from the recent ice age boxes in this channel.
Rudy, they changed the names for cards that are virtually the same as some of the ones in the Core set because WotC was toying with the idea of Ice Age being a stand-alone set, hence why there are some of the iconic reprints, such as Swords to Plowshares, Counterspell, Dark Ritual, Shatter, COP:________, Power Sink, etc...
I don't know why but this is my favorite MTG set.

Okay, the depletion lands are not the best, but the art on those lands are stunning. My favorite is River Delta, beautiful art by Everingham.
I remember cutting out the art on the plains because they formed one big landscape.
