This year have been "OLED Unboxed", which is nice, but for people who want their monitor to last 8-10 years not very useful. I would like to see some compromise solutions comparisons, like FALD vs OLED, was there any development there? High hz and response times is such a miniscule detail for single player gamers, they do feel nice to play with but presentation is way more important. Would be amazing if monitor reviewers stopped calling pretty shit ~800:1 monitors "great gaming monitors".

Nice review, Tim. I want a flat panel, vrr 1440p monitor for a mix of single player and non-competitive multiplayer gaming with excellent text clarity for non-gaming use, below $800. What are you recommending? These OLED monitors are too niche for general use.
I have captured various screen shots and have made them my screen background that swap every minute. No icons and hide the taskbar, thankfully have a elgato stream deck that has the shortcuts that I want on them so chance of burn in would be very very low. One question, running a game at highest setting how would you possibly get 360 fps or close? Have the same problem with 240htz so why get anything above 165?
Agreed. I want a 32" and they are $1000. Really hard to justify when 1440p can be had for under 300. My current 4k MSI was $500 on sale and I waited for that price for a while.

You forget about economies of scale. Tooling, machining, and logistics make up a large portion of the costs. TVs are shipped in much higher volumes so the initial cost of RnD and tooling machines doesn't transfer as much since it's spread out over way more people. Not to say these monitors can't be cheaper but they are less overpriced than you think
I tried this monitor for like a week but ultimately sent it back. The sub pixel layout on both QD and WOLEDs is so bad, especially at 1440p. If you are doing literally anything other than content consumption / gaming, then text clarity issues and colour fringing is extremely noticeable. I know people say you shouldn't get an OLED for productivity work, but owning a PC means I spend some time on the desktop regardless. And when your browsing the web, typing up a short word doc, or sending a couple of emails, there's nothing that'll make your £900 QD OLED monitor look cheap faster than poor text clarity. It's a real shame, because every other thing about this monitor is amazing. Hoping in the future we get some OLEDs with more traditional sub pixel arrangements so I can enjoy all aspects of using one as a PC monitor.

@@mihirojha4475 _many thanks_
Lot of OLED releases this year, now let's compete these prices lower ;-)
See redmagic upcoming oled
#MonitorsUnboxed -- Can you please speak to us about the ASUS 4K 240Hz OLED PG32UCDM firmware update? -- Supposedly this increase in brightness is supposed to be massive? --
These oled panels really aren’t suitable for desktop usage if you constantly have to baby them all the time.
Exactly. QD-OLEDs seem to be a bit of a dead end compared to glossy WOLEDs.
Stopped babying oleds for more than 3 years now. Not once have I experience burn in issues. Longest one I used for more than 2 years as a desktop monitor. Though I'm not the type to always have a static image on display.
@@Le_Mon92 years isn't a metric of success...
@@DrakonR did I say it is?
@@Le_Mon9 in the context of your message, yes. You mentioned how you haven't experienced burn in issues, and then follow up with a two year metric.
How about paying 20% more for 55" LG C2 OLED TV with 4k120hz, instead of buying this monitor?
A good candidate for Lossless Scaling Frame Generation :)
Response time performance section is my fav in these reviews
Bc i don’t watch them
Hashtag OLED life 😎
samsung g6 OLED when will be test?
to see what to buy g6 oled or gigabyte...
Could you review the ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQM1A ? Its seems to be the best 240hz 1440p monitor
Does AAA gaming needs to be done in srgb mode ??
I'm so tired that HDR 1000 is locked to below 400 nits at full white screen brightness. It's the one thing I hate about my OLED.
Have you done a video on the samsung odyssey g6 360hz yet? I own it so I'd like to see you video on it
This monitor or ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG? Which is better?
The gloss of the xg27 should be good but having owned the Pg27aqdm and dealing with their firmware updates breaking colour saturation (and not in a subtle oh that's slightly off way), I just don't know if I'd trust Asus again
Asus
the gigabyte.. it has 120hz MORE than the asus, plus asus is shit with there QC and warranty
Samsung ugly neon panel, absolute no go stand, factory calibration is a joke and Vrr ficker From hell. No thanks@XxAtomic646xX
@razor2049 youre clueless kid lmfao. Nothing you said is true. Also the fo27q3 is literally RTINGS best 1440p monitor pick 💀 cope. Asus is shit
I would like to see a 4k 27 OLED.
The 4k 32" MSI MAG costs only a 100 bucks more, the price for this doesnt make sense, at least not to me.
Would be interested to see you review the new LG 27GS75Q-B, its another brand new ips monitor, keep up the awesome work with these reviews, I always check this channel before making a decision on a monitor. You guys really go in depth and I appreciate all the testing results 😁
Ain't nobody give a crap about ips crap in 2024 lmao

Is there a good 27" 1440p monitor for Gaming & Productivity?
Miniled from KTC or AOC
What about the Samsung oled g6 27". When will that review be up
What do you think about the asrock pg27qft2a
Does this have the same joystick and kvm as the m34wq as that is junk. The joystick is broken and only goes to black equalizer. The kvm does not work. I have to unplug laptop to see desktop and the usb-b cable lid not recognized by gigabyte Sidekick OSD software and just closes app.
Mine failed outside of the 14 days of ownership and store said gigabyte would have to repair.
27 inch is too small for me and 32 inch OLEDs are ridiculously expensive in Poland. So no OLED for me anytime soon :(
What nits for should i use for the hdr calibration app? And in games when using the hdr mode at apl high
dsc cannot be deactivated so if you ALT+Tab it takes 5+seconds every time to see the desktop
Where is the sansung g8 2024 review? Come on guys. Bring what we want.
ew
No. One wants that samsung crap
please review the samsung g6 G60SD
funnily enough it's the cheapest one in my country
can someone please just make an esport qd-oled monitor it seems like the perfect monitor technology for it. Just make a 1080p qd oled at fuck all refresh rate and you could practically delete zowie from the market PLEASE
Nice review, Tim. I want a flat panel, vrr 1440p monitor for a mix of single player and non-competitive multiplayer gaming with excellent text clarity for non-gaming use, below $800. What are you recommending? These OLED monitors are too niche for general use.
Imma get myself a samsung monitor with similar spec and pricing.
You won't on highest settings. That is why you have to play on the lowest settings to get 360 FPS.
@@xPhantomxify so you buy a monitor that gives great visuals but you play on lowest setting?
Only $300/ year for the life of the monitor!!
VRR flicker?
Samsung GN95C, TCL 34R83Q, and TCL 27R83U review please
I am afraid Tim only reviews OLEDs that are sent his way.
Could you cover the Samsung Odyssey G8 G80SD?
Since when is $800 a great price????? Plus tax its nearly $900...
Agreed. I want a 32" and they are $1000. Really hard to justify when 1440p can be had for under 300. My current 4k MSI was $500 on sale and I waited for that price for a while.
For OLED it is a great price.
@@farmeunityou're comparing $300 crap ips/VA vs oled. OLED. Wait a year and $500 will probably be standard pricing. Got my g60sd oled 360hz for $450 with discounts.
early adopter is always expensive
Wait for the next generation OLED, will be half the price and better advanced features.
I returned my AW 27" 360hz after 3 weeks, its a joke price. Its better monitor than my IPS but not 4x like the price.
$800!?
Why. Why are these so much. I can get an 85” TV, or 48” OLED.
These prices are criminal.
The 360HZ framerate is what drives the price.
@@logantcaFramerate, KVM, and assorted other gaming-oriented features.
85” tv for for 1k or less is a garbage tv honestly. Those are the Walmart tv
TVs are filled with ads, spyware and streaming apps paying to come preinstalled on the TV. The data they gather basically subsidizes them.
The Alienware doesn't sport hdmi 2.1 so not console friendly. Gave you a reason to pay 30% more
I tried this monitor for like a week but ultimately sent it back.
