What is the similarities and differences between the Engines and Ladder Trucks for Spokane Valley FD? I know some similarities with the engine and tillers are, they both carry water and hoses, both probably carry about the same amount of EMS equipment whether BLS or ALS, but since the tiller has more compartment space what extra things dose it carry that the engine dose not?
3-4 man crews. depends on the day and the staffing levels. minimum 3 man crews and we try to staff the majority of our apparatus as ALS with a Paramedic on the crew.
@ For the most part down here in South FL all the fire dept’s have medic units in all their stations. We’re all cross trained medic FF’s. So one day you can be on an engine, the next on a rescue (ambulance). It actually alleviates the fire trucks from running any EMS runs and used strictly for non EMS calls. The fire trucks will only respond to cardiac arrests, gun shots, MCI’s and traffic accidents for man power.
On some shifts, it can be like that. We are an all hazards agency so we do everything from EMS to Fire to technical rescue. Have to be prepared for anything.
I haven’t seen Scott in probably fourteen, fifteen years. What a crazy way to run across someone again
Good videos

I'm pretty sure if you look up Fire Engineer this engineer will pop up
4:56 what is the safe used for in the firetruck?
It's for EMS Meds. It keeps them secure and also uses RFID to log missing units for accountability and inventory.

Vehicle Extrication Equipment, equipment for salvage and overhaul and equipment for technical rescue teams.

Does the dept not have ambulances for EMS runs?
We contract with a local ambulance company for transport.

Is there any female firefighters in Spokane? And how hard is it to get hired as a girl?
You go out of service for training?
Some we do. It depends on resources available and what kind of training.
Driving with bunker boots on is awkward
They should have given these guys in ambulance didn't seem like they needed a fire truck.

Some departments are all hazards agencies, which means the Engine Company also runs EMS calls. The FDNY is a prime example of an all hazards agency.
