    if they did a circle finger print scanner on the front they'd probably sued by Apple.. so square it is

      They could've put it where the dimple is, that square is so ugly.

    You dint mention anything about the insane heating issue or how the device is completely unusable when that happens!
    Why are reviewers scared to tell the damn truth?! 😒

      Nice reviews get you more sponsors. But at least when winter comes we'll have a phone with a built in electric handwarmer. I'm sure overheating processors come at a huge discount for companies.

      It's using 617. Pretty much common knowledge that it heats up like crazy like it's younger brother 615. If it ain't heating up, it aint Snapdragon.

    I've been using this phone for about a month now and it's very satisfying for me. There are only 2 problems I had with this phone -
    1. It does heat up a bit like everyone is saying in this comment section. I experienced most heating when using the camera. If I used the camera app for more than 10 minutes continuously, like taking a video for eg., it becomes so hot that it's uncomfortable to hold. Other than that, it heats up when playing some heavy graphics game like asphalt. But if you're not into gaming or don't play heavy games, you won't experience any significant heating. Light games like clash of clans, mini militia etc run fine on it.
    2. The battery life is not too bad but it's not too good either. It's average. It's a 3000 mah battery and gives around 4.5 hours of on screen time. I don't play heavy games on my phone - just reading websites and chatting so for me, after charging fully in the morning, it comes down to 40-45% by evening when i come home. Of course, that might be compensated by the fact that it has fast charging which can give you 0-100 in 1 hour.
    Other than these, I didn't find any problem in my Moto G4 Plus. It runs smooth, has great camera quality and the fingerprint sensor is pretty fast and responsive. So if you're a heavy gamer, don't buy this phone but if you're not, this is probably the phone for you.

    I was worried when Lenova bought out Motorola and didn't know what would
    happen to the Moto G line. After seeing this, I gotta admit that Lenova
    did justice with the Moto G and made the best moto G ever.

    I brought this phone in 2016, and I still have it. For about a year now I've been suffering from ghost touches and I constantly have to restart the phone. Buying a new phone soon, not Motorola anymore. Possibly an iPhone. If I used this Moto for 5 years, I can use an iPhone for 10 years; worth the $$$.

    I've ordered this phone after LG completely obliterated my loyalty to its products.
    Three LG phones in my household all had issues that bricked them in a span of a few months and of course the best their warranties can offer is "did you try turning it off and back on?" on the customer service line. No; one of them is stuck in boot loop, one crashes constantly, and one won't even turn on (G4, G Vista 2, and G3, respectively). Note that none of these issues came about after dropping the phone or anything, they each just decided to crap out one day. We had warranties on all of them but apparently since they were "common issues", the warranty doesn't cover ANY of them. Can you believe that bullshit?
    My family had a Hyundai Elantra that cost them tons in repairs followed by a brand new Kia Sedona that ALSO cost a fortune just to keep operational for more than five years. They had "warranties" on those, too, that turned out to be worthless. They would just blame every problem on us and refuse to cover anything under warranty. (ex. Your faulty transmission valves are due to not replacing the timing belt at exactly 60,000 miles. You changed it at 60,523 miles so we're not covering the damage that YOU caused, even though the two components are completely unrelated to each other.)
    I'm never buying a Korean product ever again, be it a phone, car, or appliance. Unfortunately, what used to be a diverse market of Android devices from different companies all over the place has devolved into nothing but flagship SAMSUNG shit and LG shit. I'm not going to get an iPhone because of how terrible the interface is and how restrictive it is, but mostly because I fell in love with Android years ago and I'm too stubborn to let it go. This phone is my last attempt with modern Android devices. If it fails me as badly as LG did, I'm buying the cheapest flip phone I can find from the early 2000s and calling it a day.

    had the g plus for 2 wks now, and it works great. finger sensor a must. I cant afford $499 phones, all ways a cheap phone with no features. G4 plus is a game changer. The best $250 phone with so many fetures , I'm very happy. Thanks moto

  • @grahamjefferson4854
    @grahamjefferson4854 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    It would have been really cool if Moto found a way to make recessed finger print reader and placed it on the back of the phone where the dimple is, tying in their existing design with new functionality. I'm not a fan of the squarish sensor on the face of the phone, but I like everything else about it.

    • @SEMIA123
      @SEMIA123 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      it's not like it would have been hard, but like everything else with this phone they did the laziest thing possible.
      also see: lack of NFC, placement of SD/SIM ports preventing waterproofing, etc.
      this is a very bad phone.

    • @grahamjefferson4854
      @grahamjefferson4854 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      at $199 for the 16gb G4, I wouldn't say its bad at all. But at $300 for the top model I'd be saving for something else.

      Hi, I have been using Moto G4 Plus ...say 65% to 75% of its capacity. Surfing,Videos, Msg, Camera, Talk etc. .. Note : There is none of extra heavy duty stuff happ ( which happens on my other phone ) - like Picture Editing, Editing/Posting heavy videos, a lot Multi tasking etc. Speaking of Multi tasking, when I do keep multiple windows open, there's a bit of lag I see. So in this scenario, I haven't come across any heating. Batt charging is very fast too. Hope this helps !

    *A very disappointing review*
    Hey Lahn, do you call this a review? There wasn't any insight at all. I mean you didn't even mention the insane heating issue. You just opened the spec sheet and read it from there. Did you even test that phone? At least play games and shoot pictures for a while before posting the review. After playing games for just over 10 minutes, the device overheats and throttling comes into play.

    I think the phone is out there, and not to mention it is from Motorola. Being the latest one and at an affordable budget, it's sure to give other high end companies a run for their money. I very much like the camera and has a decent battery life. The Motorola G4 Plus is something to look into as an everyday phone. The video tells some specs but it's an overview, and I feel as if they expressed what they felt as the phone had and what they loved about it.

    About a 1/2" above the finger print sensor is the on-screen home button. It would be silly to have 2 home screen stacked on each other. Using finger print sensor as a lock screen actually makes more sense.

    I just got this phone. The only thing I was disgruntled about besides getting used to not an iPhone was you can't block contacts, and can't leave a text conversation if people are blowing up your phone and group texting you. I never had that on my iPhone 4 but those really bug me so I was disappointed about that. Also when you're going to contacts, iPhone normally has a list of letters next to it, so if you have to talk to Sheila that starts with S versus Alice at the top of the screen, you have to start scrolling before a list of letters will pop up down the center of the screen. For storage I got a 64 GB SIM card that best buy recommended for $25. I have to order a waterproof case online that WalMart, T-Mobile and BestBuy didn't have where I got the phone. The phone was $250 and I'm putting this on credit so I didn't want to go over $300 and this works for me for now everything's colorful and beautiful and I like the wider screen. Great calling, etc

    The motog4 plus is an affordable smartphone with a neat design. The phone has a good stock android experience with a larger screen and more RAM, so it performs very smoothly. I really liked it.

    Coming from the Samsung s6 edge::: the only thing i am missing is the
    camera, the G4 has double the bluetooth range, the battery lasts 30%
    longer, pages and text are easier to see, i prefer the bigger screen, in
    day to day usage i find this phone more natural to use because of the
    physical size and the screen. i went to the store to get the edge s7
    @£672 - incredibly i can get 4 x moto g4's and have £20 left for
    beer.............. after a week of usage i am not missing my s6 edge in
    the slightest.

    You can tell for sure the influence that Lenovo have had on the development of this phone. It seems less Moto in design and is very close to the Lenovo Note series, yet, for some reason it still has an appeal. I would look to get onto Motorola for sure if Lenovo continue to refine this closer to the Z series in design. (plastic or metal.)
