Interesting fact about the red Post boxes and telephone boxes, the red paint is hazardous, when wet. It contains lead. I know that because our Parish Council purchased our phone box, when they were decommissioning them, it required painting and we had to buy the special paint. It out lasts most other paints. That was interesting.

How many Chinese speakers are there?
The 10 Most Spoken Languages In The World
    1.3 Billion
    1. Chinese - 1.3 Billion Native Speakers. Numbers vary widely - Ethnologue puts the number of native speakers at 1.3 billion native speakers, roughly 900 million of whom speak Mandarin - but there's no doubt it's the most spoken language in the world.28 Mar 2024
    So no surprise to me.

Sandhurst is the Army equivalent. I think Cranwell is the RAF equivalent and Portsmouth training college for Royal Navy. There is probably others. The Merchant navy also used to have them, but now defunct. My late husband went to Vindicatrix, Merchant Navy training school, on an old wooden masted ship, long gone.

Hi Mark . There is another connection between West Point and the British Army. It's the annual Sandhurst Military Skills Competition between competing teams from allied countries around the world including, of course, West Point and our equivalent, the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst ( which I attended for the then 2 year course )at Camberley in Surrey. The competition started in 1967 when a British Officer's sword was presented to West Point and the competition started, the sword being the prize 👍. There have been winners from different countries and it's a very difficult competition to win.
We 🇬🇧 have something similar in UK called Cambrian Patrol, set in the Welsh mountains over 10 days, an endurance and skills event that tests UK and international military teams to their limit.

I speak Chinese? Does that say something about me?..i also have Masters in Chinese History. Ive even visited China ..twice😮 and loved it. Im not a spy i promise😅...
These days Chinese is the go to language to speak if you want to be a high achiever in the corporate world. More than English in some areas.
West Point is def the place to go. I love their uniforms. Particularly the old style ones. You dont pay to go to any of our top Officer Training Colleges here either, Sandhurst for the Army, Cranwell for the RAF. I think someone else said Portsmouth for the Navy....not quite right its the Royal Naval College at Dartmouth. But just like WP you have to contract to stay in the service for specified years.tzay jian. (Bye)😂😂😂😂

If you were a spy would you tell me? LOL 😂. I was saying that we'll be dealing with China now and in the future so learning the language is more common
