HOW to REMOVE and REPLACE a TRAXXAS SLASH 4x4 VXL 3500kv VELINEON BRUSHLESS MOTOR

In this video I remove the stock 3500kv brushless motor out of my Traxxas Slash 4x4 VXL which I burnt up in a previous run of the truck. I show how to remove it as well as replacing it with a cheaper more cost effective motor option. The cheapest 3500kv velineon motor I could find online was $80+. I was able to get ahold of a larger 3665-3500kv Surpass Hobby Waterproof Brushless Motor for less than half of the price. About $40. Did you know Traxxas has a Lifetime Exchange Warranty program? Your local Traxxas Authorized Hobby Shop is supposed to swap out equal motor, but brand new & you pay half the original price, then they send old one into Traxxas for reimbursement. In some cases you can upgrade the motor. Same with the electronics. Nice video!!

Is your slipper clutch a 54 tooth? If so would it still work with a 14tooth pinion?

I honestly don’t know how many teeth it has? It’s the stock size spur and pinion on this Slash though
