I am wondering, is it necessary to include this much lining? like is the pattern made to accommodate this amount of lining to where if you leave out the lining it will fit loose or something?
Not at all. I’ve done the same pattern with just flannel lining. They always fit small to start and then stretch, so changing the lining shouldn’t affect fit.
Well, I ran into a huge snag right off the bat! The sherpa fabric I bought ravels and falls apart everywhere it is cut. Plus, in one direction it stretches, and I specifically asked the seller for NON stretch fabric. They assured me it was not stretchy. Back to the drawing board for me :(
These are such excellent videos. You explain each step so well. Thanks so much.
So happy to hear this! Enjoy!
Ps I love that you are also a lefty 🥰 makes a difference for a lefty to be taught by another lefty 🙏🏽 miigwetch:)
I totally agree!
@@chamberscourses7638 I second that comment thanks!

@@chamberscourses7638 thank you very much!
Would pile lining or (extra) thick pile lining work the same as Sherpa for the inside lining??
Yes, absolutely!
So there is no need to leave any "seam allowance" on the vamp pattern? I guess that's because the extra width on the bottom comes up to meet the vamp.
No need to add seam allowance because the leather will stretch so much.
@@chamberscourses7638 Thank you for the reply. I appreciate all your help.

Any update? That's too bad about the sherpa.
What weight of leather?
I use alaska split cowhide. So that's a cowhide that's been planed into two pieces (think of 2-play toilet paper!).
